No, not because the whole idea that "having a tablet makes you a better artist". I don't believe that for a second. Faster artist, though, and according to my to-do list, I have almost 400 designs to complete by next FanExpo.

No, because I could show how I originally planned my sketches.

Originally, he was going to be putting a teddy bear in a headlock, but I decided against it, since it looked more like he was hugging it. Kinda wanted to show the process, though.

And I know, you may say "But why don't you show the scanned sketch?"

Noooo, my scanned sketches are filled with mistakes and kind of hard to see on the screen. And they're in blue, so I can see the Illustrator lines against them.

So, instead, have some complete crack.

Also, I don't really like Lady Gaga that much, but "Paparazzi" has been stuck in my head for a week. It's almost as long as my sinuses. *Sniffles*

Seriously. I was wondering how weight on his hair would affect the design. I was thisclose to getting a broom from the closet, turning it upside-down, and putting some weight on the bristles and drawing that. o_O

Zangief is near done. His beard is hard.

Also, I got another commission...Okay, not really a commission, but someone I know IRL said he'd get me an iced coffee if I make him a badge of Charlie. The coffee is from Starbucks, sooo...=D

Rejoice! My 'net is working again! The tech came by and said it was our connection cables in the main box that were worn out - thereby killing the signal or something like that.

Okay, before I begin with my artwork, I have a funny story. With pictures! To show you guys.

The Nintendo Rep came by work about a few days ago with some display stuff for us to put up for Bowser's Inside Story, and she also dropped off some cookies of Mario and Luigi for us! (They were a little bland, but hey, they were cookies, and I was starving)

(Jeebus, look at how scratched the table-top is. All those exactoknives...)

So anywhoo, I wolfed mine down, and at the end of my shift, I had forgotten my ink pens in the back room, so I went to get them, and one of my co-workers had this sitting on the desk back there...

I don't think it needs explaining. XD

Alright, and we're back!

I sort of opened up commissions over at my DA Page, and here's the finished product of one of my first commishes!

Certain characters just look odd in my style, but I'm happy if the customer is.

Yeah, that's the difference between artist-me and retail-me.

Also, I'm really close to finishing Chibis of Zangief and Guile of Street Fighter. I was working on them while my net was down. They'll be up soon.

Been away for a while. Not just because of Devil Summoner 2, but I also spent the weekend in Ottawa, and my charge-cord for my Mac finally crapped out. *Sigh* But, I got a new one, so things are better now!

...Well, almost better. I need to call my Internet Provider, since the 'net is running at a snail's pace.

Well, Dhalsim is finished! What straaaaaange antomy on the bugger. Refer to my September 4th Entry for my rambling about that one.

Also, I finally got my Folklore game back! *Fistpump* Before I draw up some Folks, I'm back to blowing stuff up in Warcadia! To hell with saving trees! XP

Yup, now I'm back to drawing. Darn you Atlus for making such a long-ass game! *Shakes fist*

Anywhoo, after jumping back and forth between a number of SF characters, I finally finished Ken.

Y'know, if I was going for the Street Fighter Alpha-era Ken, it would have been a million times easier to do his hair. And it'd be all pretty and ribbony.

But, alas, I went with the SF4 era.

Don't like the hands, but for some reason, I like how the feet turned out.

Originally done in CMYK format, but DA made me flip it over to RGB...Hence the highlights on his gi looking very, very pink. @_@

I'll try to get Dhalsim up after work tomorrow.

Dhalsim is flipping hard to draw. Not only trying to make nubby chibi-legs cross upward in his yoga-pose, but also how one could have an itty-bitty waist with a chest that could crack walnuts. o_O

I better get back to the drawing him...The fact that I put earrings on a chibi without ears should distract from the shoddy anatomy when I'm done. Also, I need to get back to working on Ken. His hair is haaaaaaaaard.

Ugh, let's start out with what I don't like. The arm facing looks wayyyy too thick. Just goes to show how badly I fail at depth perception.

The Hadouken took forever to get right...I guess if you didn't see it from the past two entries. Oi.

Also, I'm ready to watch about 1000+ hours worth of Team Fortress 2 on Youtube, since I want to make chibis, but I have a Mac, so I can't run it....And attempting to do it through Bootcamp is making it laaaaaaaaaaaaaag. @_@

I think I caught something at the Expo. My throat is burning, and I feel it in my nose/roof of my mouth. Plus, I just woke up at 8:00 to get showered up to get to work by 11, and finished at 7.

I pretty much had the people at Jugo Juice cram every vitamin I could get into my smoothie.

Anywhoo, I've been jumping back and forth on my Street Fighter chibis. I got frustrated with Ryu's Hadouken and started to work on Ken. Then I came back and added a few more swooshes/sparks.

Yes, forgive the green line. I tend to go all the way to the end of the artboard. o_O()

I'm having a devil of a time on making a Hadouken in mid-charge look cartoony.

I'm probably going to throw a few smaller bits around it, maybe.

We broke a bit more than even, but what an experience! I'm cutting, since there is a lot of rambling.

My shoulder was really, really sore from all the badge-pressing, so maybe the excitement was also due to me popping some Tylenol before the show. Does Tylenol do that? No matter though.

Jon couldn't make it to the Expo on Sunday, family emergency or something, so I hope everything's okay. A few friends who came to visit pretty much took over his space to rest. They brought about a million cans of Chaotic Energy drinks. The one I tried tasted like sour strawberries and medicine. Gross. I took home a can of the orange one, maybe I'll try it, but the can design is really nice... So if I don't like it, I'll just drain it, wash it out, and display the can.

My "gophers", Amanda and Ovi, got me Jason Armstrong's autograph, AND a pic of Lobster Johnson in my book, plus Stephen Silver drew Rufus in said book (I'm not a Kim Possible fan, but I think Rufus is freaking adorable). They went to another artist (While they left me alone the table for three hours. Lonelyyyy) and had commissioned him for a few pictures, and they told me the guy's been doing almost one convention a week for almost 20 years, and makes about a grand's worth of profit per day. Jealousy. Jealousy is flowing.

Funny/scary story time. I was thirsty as hell (And it was before my friends showed up with those energy drinks), so I went around the convention center looking for a vending machine that would take bills (And I wasn't going to pay three times the amount at the food court). When that failed, I walked over to Union Station and went to one of the variety stores. Went fine, grabbed a Gatorade, payed, and went to leave...
...Couldn't get out of the store. About a million and one Jonas Brothers fangirls popped out of nowhere, and they were all blocking the entrance of the store. Worse, they were taking up almost all the space on the Skywalk - plus most of them were carrying huge-ass bristol boards.
And for those who know me, I can become very, very, VERY claustrophobic if I'm surrounded by too many people, so I pretty much pocketed my Gatorade, zipped up my hoodie, and almost zigzagged my way through the crowd while I was becoming afflicted with "the shakes" that come with the anxiety of feeling trapped in.
Needless to say, once I got back to the table, I had so little energy that I couldn't even open the bottle. Just kind of sat at the table with my forehead against the metal Legend of Zelda lunchbox that I used as my cash till for a minute or two.

Waiting outside Union Station for the ride home, I ran into a Big Boss cosplayer that had stopped by my table while I was playing "Dodge the Jonas Brothers fangirls" in the Skywalk. He had bought a crapload of my MGS badges, but my gophers didn't know who half the characters were so they told him that they were sold out of EVA. Of course, I still had one so I gave it to him for free when I saw him outside the station and we started up a conversation about MGS. He was an interesting guy. Though when I started digging around in the suitcase for the badge some other people started standing around, so it looked like I was selling drugs or something. XD

Also, Amanda and I were so bored we started watching the pigeons outside and talking about what each one would be if they were an MGS character.
One of the pigeons kept wiggling its tailfeathers around when it walked, so we said that would be Meryl.
There was another that was kind of pecking around all over the place, then started following the "Meryl" pigeon around...So we said that was Snake.
Then a really roughed-up looking pigeon was skulking around, and he'd occasionally get all spazzy and run up to people or chase other birds. A hard one, but we settled on Grey Fox, since he's just "so craaazy"!
Another pigeon, a greyish-black one, would constantly start scuffling with the Snake pigeon and would then puff-up and walk off in a huff, so he'd be Liquid.
A dark brown pigeon came by, but the poor thing was being scared off by everyone and everything, so he kind of spent some time huddling behind one of the pillars. We called that one Otacon. He later flew over to the gate where there was another pigeon that just kept watching, and barely even moving a feather, so we said that one was Sniper Wolf.
Too bad there was no Psycho Mantis pigeons. Then again, he'd screw with everyone's minds and make them give him more food. =P

Also, Ovi and I started brainstorming ideas for next year, so watch this space! I'm going to start working on Street Fighter ones for now, just for the heck of it.

I took a few pictures too. Someone was cosplaying as Sephiroth with the life-sized sword. Of course, I wanted to get it all in the picture had pretty much zoomed out on the furthest setting. XP

Yup, I was fiddling around for a while, trying to decide how I was going to display the finished MGS set. It is way, way, wayyyyyyy too big to fit on an LJ page, so just go to its DA page and click "Download" to the left of it. In other news, the Psycho Mantis bookmark was really my only bookmark, so I thought I'd make another. Yes, even though everyone and their mother will be selling KH stuff, and probably a ton of bookmarks.

Arrrgh! How do all you KH fanartists do it? Axel's hair nearly drove me batty...I actually cut it off at the edge because the back was that bad. =_=

In other news, I went to see "Funny People" with my dad yesterday. Y'know, it was a good movie, but it really started to drag... Just when you thought that the plot was wrapping up? BANG! Another conflict comes up.

Oh well, Pineapple Express and Superbad are still my favourite of Apatow's films. X3

Last one of the MGS set, for now. Like Raikov, not a major character, but some people requested I make him, sooooo...

For the life of me, there are barely any good pics of Johnny without his mask. Well, I did originally have him wearing the mask, but putting the straw under it looked weird in the sketch.

Pretty much just watched the cinematics on YouTube about a million times for this. Couldn't get a good view of his eye colour, but I thought I saw a bit of hazel. *Shrugs*

His legs look weird. I suck at drawing sitting chibis

I'm just finishing up putting the page together, so it should be up soon.

Y'know, usually when I draw a chibi there's a bit of silliness, a backstory if you will. However, I've forgotten why I drew Raikov in this pose.

Is it really Snake in disguise and he knows what's coming to him?

Does Raikov have to pee and is afraid what the next crotch-grab will do?

Is he afraid to tell Volgin that he has "a bit of a headache" tonight?

I dunno. Don't like how the feet came out, BTW.

I was never that big of a fan of EVA, so I guess I couldn't resist taking a jab at her. XD

Maybe the humour is my way of trying to detract the fact she looks almost nothing like EVA. Also, I think I made her torso a touch too long.

So now I've got four new MGS characters to do, and see how many Street Fighter ones I can do in...eight days.

Kinda meant to post these sooner, but I was at work again. Thank Jeebus that the Summer's almost over. To be honest, I hate it more than the Christmas season...At least during that time, people are just in and out.

My longest chibi ever. Must have spent three days redoing this. I actually finished it this morning, but didn't post it until now.

The hardest...Is over now. I also was able to fix the number of toes the GEKKO had in this version (Original only had two. D'oh!).

Okay, this was a tough bugger, but I finished! Despite the fact that my wisdom teeth are bugging me, and I've had to deal with the dreadful grind that is retail work.

Also, I'd once again like to point out that the pic is in no way meant to imply Raiden/Vamp slash. It's more of a take on how hiimdaisy makes Vamp. Check out her comics. For serious.

Aaaaand, I'm doing it. I'm biting the bullet and working on the Cyborg Raiden one now. I need to also work on a device that'll keep my eyes pried open. Like in A Clockwork Orange. XD

...But I'm back! I've put a cut up since I've got two pics in here.

Well, I couldn't make it perfect. The motion-blurred copies of the revolver are in a few different positions than my original drawing, but I doubt people will notice.

Solidus! He took me the whole weekend. That's all I've gotta say about that.

I have Vamp, Young Ocelot, Volgin, and Cyborg-Raiden left to do for the MGS series. Redoing the Raving Rabbids series should be easier after that.

Okay, remember yesterday I said I'd try to get two done tonight? I lied. I was just able to get MGS2-era Raiden done. Lines are a bit thinner than the first version, but I don't think it'll make much of a difference when sized down for badges.

When I have to get to Cyborg Raiden, I think I'll cry.
