99 Proven Plays to Exploit Real Opponents
Most poker books are written for a theoretical opponent that does not exist at your table. You study hard, apply the concepts, and still lose to players you should be beating consistently.
Low-stakes players are not balanced. They have massive, predictable leaks. This book gives you 99 ready-to-use plays designed to punish those leaks and extract maximum value from the opponents you face every session.
Every play is presented as a simple IF/THEN statement following the same tight format: what the play is, which opponent type it targets, why it works, and exactly how to run it. No vague advice. No “it depends” without a real answer.
There is a lot of recent talk about exploitative play which itself is a great counter to the GTO approach – this book brings the focus back to playing the game, and in particular for me, the live game, which I enjoy as a recreational player trying to get better. I enjoyed the simplified approach and the “IF THEN” theme. It is straightforward and breaks the lessons down into bite sized chunks. The chapters are short and present concise topics that are easily digestible. For a single opening raise, and a few hours of initial study to get started, the book is a great value.
This is an easily digested collection of 99 specific guidelines for the intermediate low-stakes hero. It's meant to be referenced, not read in one sitting and I expect to return to it as my poker journey continues. I've already flagged two exploits for the “limp-heavy” regulars at my local room that I know will print money. One of my favorite takeaways was the comment on sacrificing short-term EV against regulars to avoid being “found out” – a nuance often missed in basic strategy books. Like most good poker content, this book pays for itself the moment you successfully apply just one adjustment.
This is one of the most useful poker books I've read because it focuses on how games actually play instead of just pure theory. They do a great job explaining when it makes sense to open wider, 3-bet more often, or adjust your ranges based on the types of players at the table. Instead of just showing solver outputs, they explain why certain adjustments work against common player tendencies in low-stakes games. I also liked how the book breaks ideas down into simple situations and clear takeaways, so it's easy to understand what adjustment to make when you notice certain patterns from opponents. If you play low-stakes cash games and want practical strategies you can actually use at the table, this book is definitely worth reading.
Read the full playbook and try the plays for at least 3 sessions. If you do not feel like you got your money's worth, we will refund you with no questions asked. We are confident these 99 plays will change the way you approach every session you play going forward.
