Pull Me Down, Wind Me Up (Kirk/McCoy- Star Trek AOS)

Title: Pull Me Down, Wind Me Up
Fandom: Star Trek Alternate Original Series (movies)
Pairing: James T. Kirk/Leonard "Bones" McCoy

It’s not game on after that. Bones doesn’t start petting him left and right or anything. But if Jim gets into the right position and Bones is sleepy enough, it happens. And when it happens, Jim’s basically in aroused heaven for a few days. He’s always liked his hair pulled, but it’s never been this big a thing. He’s never spent actual hours of his life trying to plan out non-dates that will end with a little fingers-on-scalp action. It’s like he doesn’t even know himself.

Forgo Wisdom (Sons of Liberty)

Title: Forgo Wisdom
Fandom: Sons of Liberty
Pairing: Sam Adams/John Hancock
Author's Notes: Thanks to Smittywing for the beta and the encouragement. You always make my stories infinitely better.

John had lost many things to this revolution: his home, his wealth, his standing. But he’d felt his dignity had remained intact. But he had begged. He had pleaded his case and admitted his poverty. And still Sam had dismissed him without hesitation. He had left John standing alone in the stables without an ounce of pride to his name.

Clothes Make the Man (Naked People Have Little or No Influence on Society) (Sons of Liberty)

Title:Clothes Make the Man (Naked People Have Little or No Influence on Society)
Fandom Sons of Liberty
Pairing Sam Adams/John Hancock
Author's Notes Thanks, as always, to Smittywing for the cheer leading, the beta, and most importantly- the idea. This fic wouldn't exist if you hadn't suggested it (and let me talk you into watching Sons of Liberty with me). Title comes from Mark Twain.

“You need to appeal to those men as their equal. You need them to see you as their equal.” John reached out and tapped a finger on Sam’s chest. “You need to look like their equal.”

Sam followed John’s gaze and really looked at himself. His clothes were serviceable, if worn, nothing he had any complaint with. But he could see what John meant, could imagine what a man like Dickinson saw when he looked at Sam.

“I’ve changed my mind,” Sam said, after a moment. “I think I’d like to go back to Boston now.”

A Piece of Silly Affection (Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes)

Title: A Piece of Silly Affection
Fandom: Captain America, The Avengers (movies)
Pairing: Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes (Captain America/The Winter Soldier)
Author's Notes: As always, a great many thanks to Smittywing for her cheerleading, her enthusiasm, and her beta skills. This story would be pretty awful without you. Secondly, this story can be blamed on the magnificent beard of Chris Evans and the gifs and pictures many a kind tumblr user has posted that have made it across my dash. It shouldn't be that hot, but it totally is.
You can find me on tumblr here.

Steve looked good, He looked hale and hearty and uninjured in his leather jacket, too-tight shirt, and jeans. He got off the motorcycle and his movements were graceful and fluid - no obvious signs of injury. He took off his helmet and --
Oh.

Steve had a beard.

Bucky’s mechanical hand spasmed oddly.

Vid Rec

Yes, I am actually alive. And recently returned from Escapade! Where much fun was had and many friends were seen. And since I am returned from Escapade, I come bearing a vid rec. Now, most of the vids here are pretty great. But this particular one I feel resonates with most of us. Because most of us have a fannish partner who is always dragging us into some new fandom we Do Not Want.

(Unfortunately for smittywing.... I'm that partner in the relationship. Our relationship is literally: Reccea: SMITTY COME PLAY WITH ME Smittywing: FFS TEEN WOLF? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? WHY? I HATE MY LIFE. okay fine, at least there are hot dads. fml.)

I fail at fandom

It's been brought to my attention that I havent' posted here in... a year. Yeah, I suck. I'm still basically lurking everywhere. I have a tumblr but I really never post on it. (I like it for gifs, etc., but damn it's a pain in the ass to read fic at.)

I'm currently engaged in a serious Richard Armitage obsession. I watched The Hobbit, remembered Thorin as 'that other guy' from the like 2 Robin Hood episodes I'd seen (which was my same reaction to him in Captain America) and somehow that became "oh hey maybe I should watch 'North and South' and then 'his Vicar of Dibley episodes are on youtube' and then "... I need to find Robin Hood episodes NOW." And that's where I'm at. Plotting au threesome Robin Hood fic. I don't even know.

Work is still all consuming. Got a promotion in November 2011 and it's been long hours and thinking about things all night ever since. Which has translated into far less writing, but I'm trying to turn that around.

I'm also totally obsessing over The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. If anyone likes Pride and Prejudice, it's worth a look.

And that's basically the state of me. Went to Escapade, had fun as always, met new awesome people, saw familiar awesome people, had awesome Italian food. The usual. Going to Wondercon at the end of the month, probably going to buy all the comics. :)

I'm still hoping to work on the 2 Broke Girls/Avenger story but I've had bad writer's block about it. The next thing I post could actually be Robin Hood fic. Yay?

Fandom Snowflake Challenge, Day 5

Day Five

In your own space, share something non-fannish you are passionate about with your fannish friends. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Soccer Soccer's always been the big sport in my hourse. My sister, brother, and I all joined AYSO and had a blast, so whenever a game was on tv- no matter the team- I would tend to leave it on and half-watch while I was doing other things. As my sister and I traveled more and more, we tended to watch on purpose, because when you're in Italy there's no much on the tv you're going to understand besides BBC Worldnews and soccer. Soccer doesn't need a translator. :) So now I have season tickets to the LA Galaxy and am ridiculously obsessed. I dance around when we score and I shout in outrage when the refs are ridiculous asshats. And I love it. I love the flow of the game and the skills of the players, and the fact that it's not about the one good player but about how to team works together.

Shoes No really. I'm ridiculously passionate about shoes. I have a problem. I stalk the sales racks and make wishlists for the ones that are too expensive to justify. I definitely get a shopping high in general (have a bad day at work, go buy make up and feel better. It's a problem.) But no other shopping high even compares to shoes. I wear a new gorgeous pair and feel pleased and giddy most of the day. I feel faintly silly about it, but yes. I am passionate about shoes.

I feel like I should post here about some kind of cause or something worthwhile. And I mean I am passionate about government and animals and all sorts of things. But talking about shoes and soccer is just more fun. So there you go. :)

Fandom Snowflake Challenge, Day 2

Yep. Already behind.

Day 2

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Drop a link to your post in the comments. See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. Find fanworks that have few to no comments, or creators new to a particular fandom and maybe aren't well known or appreciated. Appreciate them.

Hidden Kisses & Damned Presumptions
By: Waldorf
Fandom: Peter Pan
Pairing: John Darling/Slightly
Summary: They are all grown up, the Great War is finally over, and Slightly knows who the hidden kiss in the corner of John's mouth belongs to.
Reason for reccing: Peter Pan was one of the first fairy tales that really captured my imagination and I always love seeing any new interpretation or adaptation. So when I stumbled across this little story I was filled with a ridiculous amount of glee. But the story itself is just a gem. Slightly knows what's going on and he knows all about John's hidden kiss. And John's trying not to get ahead of himself and presume what shouldn't be presumed. There's something delightfully understated about this story and I adore Slightly to an insane degree. He's a tactician and he has got this all figured out.

Dinner with Friends
By: screamlet
Fandom: 1776
Pairing: Adamses/Jeffersons
Summary:
Reason for reccing: 1776 fic is pretty rare to begin with and fic dealing with the interactions of these two couples is non-existent. But, more importantly, the dialogue is this story is pitch perfect. The knowing tones, the dry wit, the banter. It's all brilliant and brilliantly in character. I doubt I'll ever tire of how perfectly the characters are written and how exquisite their interactions are.

A Walk in the World
By: seedee
Fandom: Harry Potter
Pairing: Dean Thomas/Seamus Finnegan
Summary: In a perfect world, no one gets sick, you keep the girl, and wait for your best mate to come home. In Seamus's world, things work differently.
Reason for reccing: I love the slow evolution of Seamus figuring his shit out. I love how Dean's loved him all along and even if he thinks Seamus isn't in it for the long haul, Dean still can't help but be a little stupid about it and about Seamus. I love the theme of coming together again, and of figuring out who you are and what you really need.

Still Time for You
By: torakowalski
Fandom: NCIS
Pairing: Timothy McGee/Tony DiNozzo
Summary: Modern Day High School AU.
Reason for reccing: oh high school aus, how I do love thee. When thee is done correctly. And boy howdy is this. Tim and Tony are just fantastic (and so is Abby- still bowling with nuns even!). They're younger versions of themselves, naturally, but- like all good highschool aus- you can see the beginnings of the people they will become and you can see how they become those people. I love Tim's bravery and his determination to be himself and I love Tony trying to be smart about it but giving in anyway. And, okay, the end just makes me squeak with joy.

Fandom Snowflake Challenge, Day 1

This is clearly proof that I will do whatever smittywing tells me is a good idea. I'm so weak.

So, there's this:

Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Drop a link to your post in the comments.

So here we go. This isn't normally something I feel very comfortable with but that's pretty much the point. I am stepping out of my comfort and saying "hey! look at me!"

Faith and Determination Livejournal or AO3
Fandom: 1776
Pairing: John Adams/Thomas Jefferson (oh yes)
Summary:"Everyone likes a good agitator."

A Not-So-Modest Proposal Livejournal or AO3
Fandom: Stargate Atlantis
Pairing: John Sheppard/Rodney McKay
Summary: "I'm pretty much left with you as the only reasonable person to assume the mantle of protecting my mind in perpetuity. So we should get married before I'm speared to death by some alien with rudimentary weapons and statistically improbable aim."

Five Things Jack O'Neill Left Behind Livejournal or AO3
Fandom: Stargate: SG-1
Pairing: None
Summary: After everything (after Charlie, after Abydos, after coming home to find that everything and nothing had changed) Jack had thought his team days were behind him.

In Production Livejournal or AO3
Fandom: Supernatural RPS
Pairing: Jensen Ackles/Jared Padalecki (J2)
Summary:A decade after Supernatural ends, Jared Padalecki is still working in series television. His marriage to Sandy is coming to an amicable end, and he's famous enough that he wants to be out of town before he becomes a tabloid headline. Jensen Ackles has seen his career progress from small but weighty parts that earned him acclaim to above the title billing. The notoriously private Jensen extends an invitation--by way of a first-class plane ticket--for Jared to hide out at Jensen's mostly empty Paris flat while he films his next movie. Three months in Paris is enough to tone down the tabloid attention, but Jared returns to LA only to find that he doesn't have everything figured out. They say you can't go home again, but Jared discovers that sometimes that's exactly what you have to do.

Appellations Livejournal or AO3
Fandom: Criminal Minds
Pairing: Spencer Reid/Derek Morgan
Summary: Morgan had a thing for nicknames, that much was clear.

Four Letter Words Livejournal or AO3
Fandom: Star Trek Reboot
Pairing: James Kirk/Leonard McCoy
Summary: You keep saying it, and one of these days you'll actually mean it.

2011 was a decent year. Nothing really to write home about and a lot to rant and rave about. But I'm not sad to see it go. (Though this is the second year in a row where I'm ill on New Years and I could really stand for that not to happen next time, ffs.)

Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year and that 2012 is awesome all around.

2 Broke Girls/Avengers/Thor Fic: Versus the Metaphorical Goatee Part 2/?

Title: Versus the Metaphorical Goatee (2/?)
Fandom: 2 Broke Girls/The Avengers/Thor
Pairings: Max/Caroline, Darcy/Clint, Steve/Tony(implied)
Summary: Things don’t end well for people Thor looks at like they’re evil twins.
Author's Notes: I think smittywing gets all the blame for this one. And the thanks for the beta. :)

Part One

The SHIELD clean-up team only call Coulson when there’s a problem. Stark and Captain Rogers in a shouting match with Thor qualifies as a problem, Coulson will admit. But possibly not as much of a problem as the two people dumped in the interrogation room behind Stark, Captain Rogers, and Thor.

Coulson steps around the ruckus and takes stock of the situation. “Gentlemen. Stark.”

“Son of Coul!” Thor sounds relieved. (The son of Coul thing never gets old. Really.) “Surely you can convince my comrades of the danger--”

“Danger?” Stark cut off Thor. “Thor, I’ve known this girl for years, she’s not a danger!”

“They wanted a picture with us.” Captain Rogers had his hands out, as if calming Thor down could be accomplished through judicious use of hand gestures and soothing tones.

“Stark.” Coulson snapped his fingers and then pointed at the blonde girl behind the mirrored glass. “I assume you’re talking about that one.”

“Yes.” And for once, Tony Stark sounded grateful to talk to him. It was uncomfortable.

“Her name is Caroline Channing. She’s the daughter of Martin Channing. You know the one. She’s not a threat. Not even a corporate one.”

Coulson nodded. “Miss Channing is not the problem. Her companion is.”

Stark and Rogers both angled their bodies to look around Coulson at the two women in the interrogation room.

Rogers recovered first, though he was still frowning. “I think they were both working at that terrible diner down the street from our operation. They didn’t engage us until after the fight was over and the agents have already confirmed they didn’t have weapons on them.”

"I have to tell you, the other one doesn't look very frightening." Stark crossed his arms in a loud screech of metal on metal.

There was a commotion outside and Widow, Barton, and Banner came in. Banner was wearing even less clothing than usual.

“Did you or did you not just leave us to do dinosaur clean up?” Barton asked darkly.

“I believe we agreed not to do that,” Romanoff said dangerously.

Rogers look pained, Stark looked annoyed and Thor looked apologetic. “We are sorry, my friends, but there was an urgent matter we needed to attend to.”

“More urgent than dinosaur dung?” Barton wasn’t shy about expressing his disbelief.

“Thor kidnapped two women,” Stark said nonchalantly.

“Barton.” Coulson waved Barton over.

“Kidnapped?” Banner sounded even less willing than usual to be part of this team.

Barton walked over to Coulson, mouth pinched and clearly still ready to engage in verbal battle with his other teammates. Until Coulson pointed at the interrogation room.

Barton processed in the blink of an eye and then turned to Thor and asked, very calmly, “Why did you kidnap my girlfriend?”

“Are you sure you’re doing that right?” Jane leaned across Darcy to snag the mouse back. Darcy smacked her on the hand and covered the mouse and keyboard with her body.

“Yes. Go away.”

Jane struggled to free her hand and when that didn’t work, she started scratching to get to the mouse. “No seriously, I think--”

“I think you can’t use any Microsoft programs but Excel which is why you have an intern,” Darcy grabbed Jane’s flailing hand and turned the battle into impromptu thumbwar.

“I can use Word,” Jane hissed.

“You have no imagination and your Powerpoints look like they’re on an overhead projector.” Darcy always wins at thumbwar. Jane has tiny hands.

Jane tries with her other hand. “Scientists appreciate clean lines and simple layouts.”

“Please, I’ve seen your three-dimensional graphs.” Darcy started to involve her leg and turn this into a bad game of Twister.

“If you would just--”

The phone rings. It’s Darcy’s phone because Darcy believes firmly in individualized ringtones and Jane believes firmly that there is one ringtone to rule them all.

There’s a brief scramble while they disentangle themselves and Darcy password locks the computer. Jane steals the phone in retaliation. “Hey Clint.”

Darcy plucks the phone from Jane’s hand, with only token resistance from Jane. “You shot Godzilla in the eye.”

“Just the one,” Clint laughs. “You should see what they did to the other one.”

“Oh I saw. The whole internet saw,” Darcy assures him. “You shot yours in the eye and in the tongue.”

“Well, there weren’t a lot of weak spots,” Clint offers.

“It’s cool,” Darcy said. “But don’t bring Godzilla meat back to New Mexico. I’ll just have to go vegetarian again.”

Clint laughs again but it’s not up to his usual standard. Darcy taps her fingers on the glass of the lab and looks out into the soft lights of the town at night. “You okay?”

“I’m good. I’m fine. But there’s a situation,” Clint says, his voice steady and warm.

“So you’re not coming back for a while and you’re breaking it to me gently,” Darcy hazarded. “I think Thor better send roses to Jane ahead of time, because he’s not the best at breaking things gently.”

“No, ah--” She can practically hear Clint shake his head. “Actually, they’re sending someone to pick you up. A car should be there in ten minutes.”

“Picking me up?” Darcy turned around and waved to Jane. “Picking me up to go where? New York?”

“Yeah,” Clint said, the same time Jane said “I’m coming with you.”

Darcy cupped her hand over her phone. “You have the presentation.”

Jane arched an eyebrow. Darcy smiled. She uncupped the phone. “Jane’s coming.”

There’s a pause and Darcy knows Clint’s dying to argue, but he’s apparently a learn from experience kind of guy so instead he just says, “Pack for at least a week, okay?” And then he mutters something inaudible before saying goodbye and hanging up.

“Did he stop mumbling yet?”

“Nope,” Darcy shakes her head, already grabbing her bag. “But he totally still loves me. A car will be here in ten. Make them stop at the 7-11 for coffee before you guys get to my place. It’s going to take me ten minutes to even find my suitcase.”

Jane salutes and they both make a mad dash to find clean clothes.

When Clint came back to the briefing room it seemed like everyone else had had time to shower and change. Stark was in jeans and a metal band t-shirt, with his incredibly obvious briefcase sitting on the table in front of him. Rogers looked like the forties spit him out ass backwards and in plaid, Natasha was in a clean uniform, and Banner was wearing clothes. Awesome.

“Thank you for finally joining us,” Fury said from on high.

Clint tipped an imaginary hat. “Lewis and Foster are on their way to the base and should be flown out within the hour.” At Fury’s eyebrow Clint added, “Dr. Foster insisted.”

“It still seems like a bad idea to bring the original to the place where we’re holding the copy,” Stark muttered.

“Be that as it may, Mr. Stark, I’m sure you can understand the need to confirm the DNA samples are accurate,” Coulson replied calmly.

“What do we think exactly?” Natasha folded her hands on top of the table. “A clone? Waitressing at a dead-end diner?”

“Evil twin?” Stark threw out, tapping his goatee with a wink. Clint thought it maybe would have been funny if he’d been in the mood or if even half the audience had a chance of getting the reference.

“Alternate universe corrupting our timeline?” Banner adjusted his glasses.

“Skrull,” Fury said decidedly.

“Skrull,” Coulson agreed.

The team exchanged looks. Stark muttered something about little green men and Banner glared at him.

“Are we sure there isn’t a simpler explanation?” Rogers said after a moment.

“Skrull is easily the simplest answer,” Coulson replied, positively upbeat.

“Okay.” Clint rubbed his face and took a deep breath. “I’ll bite. Why the hell would a skrull impersonate Darcy?”

Tony coughed and Steve shot him a look before saying diplomatically, “Well, she does work with the Avengers.”

But pretty much the whole room is staring at Clint because he’s dating Darcy and they all think he’s an accidental lady killer. “Great,” Clint muttered.

“I took the liberty of having agents interview their colleagues at the Diner,” Coulson tapped some keys and a hologram of a driver’s license appeared overhead, for one Maxine Black. “We confiscated the personal items from the diner but there was regrettably little. Recommend reconnaissance at their apparently shared place of residence.”

“If she’s a Skrull, she really did her homework. That’s an awful picture,” Tony said.

Clint wasn’t going to agree out loud but inside he agreed wholeheartedly.

“Any pertinent information from their colleagues?” Steve asked, quite obviously refusing to look at Tony.

Coulson paused. “The chef was a less-than-reliable source but the owner and the cashier seemed quite insistent that Ms. Black is not participating in the proliferation of illegal substances.”

“So, no,” Tony said.

“At the very least it’s clear that Ms. Black has not engaged any of her colleagues, excluding potentially Ms. Channing, in any nefarious activities.” Coulson’s tone made it clear that he thought this was a reasonable choice on Ms. Black’s part.

“So the apartment is our only lead,” Clint nodded. This was just fantastic.

“Okay,” Steve nodded. “Tony, why don’t you and I--”

“I’m coming,” Clint said.

“Same,” Natasha agreed. Clint smiled at her. They were both in agreement that letting those two handle anything with subtlety was a lost cause.

“I’ll stay,” Banner offered.

“Thor refuses to leave the Skrull, so let’s go with that,” Fury said. “Move out and report back in two hours.”

Tony got up and clapped Clint soundly on the back. “Don’t you just love field trips?"

Community Pimp Post

In attempting to find places to post my WIP I discovered, to my extreme dismay, that there wasn't a 2 Broke Girls fic community. So I did something I have apparently never done in all my years on livejournal. I created a comm. And then smittywing created a comm on dreamwidth to cover our bases.

So, please go check out (and join) (and post fic/art/icons/discussion to) 2brokegirlsfic and the dreamwidth comm 2 Broke Girls and Fic

2 Broke Girls/Avengers/Thor Fic: Versus the Metaphorical Goatee Part 1/?

Title: Versus the Metaphorical Goatee (1/?)
Fandom: 2 Broke Girls/The Avengers/Thor
Pairings: Max/Caroline, Darcy/Clint, Steve/Tony(implied)
Summary: Things don’t end well for people Thor looks at like they’re evil twins.
Author's Notes: I think smittywing gets all the blame for this one. And the thanks for the beta. :)

"Did you feel that?" Han demanded anxiously, out of nowhere.

"I haven't felt anything in years," Max told him dryly, as Caroline swept by her, scooping up Table Four's order.

"The shaking," Han insisted.

"Yeah, the last time I felt the Earth move," Max cracked, "I was a lot drunker than this.” When Han didn’t laugh, Max sighed. “Look, it was probably--”

There was a weird rumbling noise and, as if on cue, the ground rocked under them, sending Caroline’s tray (and its Salisbury steak) flying.

“Oh shit,” Max swore fervently. “Not another earthquake, are you kidding me?”

“That was a five hundred year event,” Caroline said, making sad faces at the idiot who ordered the unidentified meat product and picking the plate off the floor like it was contaminated. (Which it probably was.)

There was another rumble and something that sounded like what explosions sounded like in the movies.

Max set down the cupcake tray. “Was that...?”

And then, surprisingly distinct over another rumble, was a shout. “Avengers Assemble!”

Max, Caroline, Han, Oleg, Earl, and every customer in the place ran to the door to look outside. Max had to elbow a few people to get to the front (she got Han in the eye but superhero stalking was serious business) but she and Caroline were smushed up close, watching the Avengers kicking the ass of some giant lizard thing.

“That’s like Godzilla. Only actually scary,” Caroline whispered.

“Oleg, touch my ass one more time and I’m feeding you to Godzilla,” Max snapped. Out in the street Iron Man flew by, shooting his hand lasers at Godzilla. “This is so awesome,” Max said reverently.

Captain America threw his shield right into Godzilla’s face and it let out a roar of pain that was something close to deafening.

Caroline sighed, heartfelt and full of longing.

“Captain America?” Max asked in disgust. “You have a crush on Captain America?”

“He’s an American hero who’s literally the peak of human perfection.” Caroline smiled beatifically. “How can you not want to tap that?”

“He’s boring,” Max objected. “Way too perfect and he has wings on his helmet.”

“My man Thor has wings on his helmet and there ain’t anything wrong with that,” Earl cut in.

“Thor’s a god. Fashion sense is not required,” Max conceded the point.

“The Black Widow is my favorite.” Han reached out to touch the reflection of the red-headed, leather-wearing superhero on the glass door. “She is terrifying.”

The Black Widow did some complicated somersault thing that let her shoot Godzilla in the eye. “Not gonna disagree,” Max said, wincing.

“Oh my god,” Caroline gasped. “It’s going down!”

Godzilla careened through the street, feet taking out abandoned hot dog carts and the table of knockoff sunglasses. It stumbled further down, getting closer and closer until it finally fell, its head perilously close to the front of diner.

“Wow.” Max pressed her face to the glass. “It’s so close you can see its scales.”

“It’s dead, right?” Caroline put her hands on Max’s shoulders. “Tell me it’s dead.”

“It’s totally dead and we are totally taking a picture with it. Grab your phone Caroline!” Max pushed and shoved until everyone had backed up enough for her to open the door. They all ran outside.

There were a lot of looky-loos in the street already, included some panicky criers and a kid who was covered in dust.

“This is so awesome!” Max cheered. She snagged Caroline’s phone out of her hand and took two pictures of Godzilla’s lolling tongue and blank open eyes. Then she grabbed Caroline and got one of the two of them in front of the lolling tongue and dead eyes.

“The city gets weirder and weirder!” Earl shook his head. “Thought this shit only happened in California.”

“Iron Man moved here from California, right?” Max offered.

One of the customers shrieked Iron Man’s name. Oleg clapped his hands together. “He is coming over here!” and, no lie, the guy sounded pretty psyched. Max bet that Oleg would table sixty-nine Iron Man all day long.

Caroline did a roadrunner.

“Hey, hey!” Max grabbed her arm and bodily hauled her back outside. “We just got rescued by Iron Man. We are not leaving here without getting our boobs autographed.”

“That’s Tony Stark.” Caroline was hilariously scandalized.

“Like you haven’t gotten someone to sign your boobs before,” Max scoffed. And then reconsidered. “You just ran like you did when that douche came into the diner. Did you date Iron Man?”

“No!” Caroline took horrified and leveled up. “He’s a friend of my fathers! Or was a friend, you know, before.”

“So you don’t have dibs is what you’re saying.” Max found it was important to not let yourself be distracted from the salient points and to not let Caroline dwell on the mess that was her dad’s life. And happily, she often managed to combine the two.

Caroline made a face. “Please tell me you’re joking.”

“Are you kidding?” Max snorted. “I’d totally tap that.”

Caroline looked mutinous for a good moment before putting on a determinedly pleasant expression. Which meant Iron Man had to be standing behind Max.

“You ladies all right?” The mechanical but still sexy voice of Iron Man asked.

“Hell. Yes.” Max dug around in her apron for a pen. “That was freaking awesome.”

“Hello Mr. Stark,” Caroline said awkwardly, edging back behind Max, probably trying to hide the uniform.

Iron Man tilted his head for a moment before the front of the helmet opened up. It was possibly the coolest thing Max had seen in her life.

“Caroline Channing?” Tony Stark asked, totally disbelieving.

Caroline smiled an unhappy smile and waved. “Nice to see you again. Saving the neighborhood. And all that.”

Max was a little concerned that Caroline’s obvious desire for death was going to ruin her chance to get autographed cleavage and then Thor came into view, twirling his awesome hammer, cape trailing behind him.

“Best day ever!” Max clasped a hand to her heart and thanked the universe.

“Tony, my friend,” Thor, the fucking god of thunder shouted as he landed next to freaking Iron Man. “I do not think it wise to allow your leaders of cheer to arrive at a battle before it is won.”

“They’re not my cheerleaders,” Tony Stark said. “They're just color-coded for my convenience.”

Max frowned. “Sleeping with you is sounding less appealing by the second.”

And then Thor (the god of thunder, seriously the god of thunder, what the hell) stepped forward and said, “Darcy?”

“Max,” Max said. “I thought his name was Thor. Is Darcy godspeak for Thor?”

“You are not Darcy Lewis?” Thor’s expression darkened. And with it the sky.

“Max...” Caroline reached out and snagged Max’s hand. Max hung onto it like a woman going into labor.

“No,” she said, slowly and clearly in case fast talk got the big man angry. “I’m Max. Why are you looking at me like I’m somebody’s evil twin?

Max has seen the news. Things don’t end well for people Thor looks at like they’re evil twins.

“Huh.” Iron Man said.

Yeah. Max totally wasn’t going to sleep with him.

Next

Thundercats ho?
The first episode was pretty great. Though I feel like we needed a little bit more on Tigra's relationship to Lion-O and their father. It was a good start to a serialized show, and I totally enjoyed it.

The second episode though.... Moby Dick the morality tale. Really?

There's an internship, a kickass gym class, Tony Stark, and Darcy liking to lead. It's hilarious (as can be expected from Smitty) and just a hell of a lot of fun. It's a WIP, but don't worry. I'll make her finish it. XD

So go check out Not Your Mother's Alma Mater.
Hawaii Five O

That conversation. You know the one. The one where Steve's in crazy Rambo makeup, setting up a trap involving a fucking log and he takes a time out- still holding up the log- to talk to Danno about Danno's issues. That was the least het thing I have ever seen on this show. And that. my friends, is saying something. Steve loves Danno more than he loves kicking bad guy ass. I bet Steve didn't even know he could love something more than kicking bad guy ass.

Okay. So. There was also the fact that when Danno takes off from their totally important mission to go be with his family? Steve's all "Call us is you need us." Steve has excellent priorities. Even if he occasionally has to go all Apocalypse Now in the Jungle.

Danno is win. He imprinted his badge on the bad guy's forehead, for one. And while some might think his attitude was a little too... he-man, I was just delighted with his handling of Rachel and clearly trying not to be a jackass even though he was clearly worried to the point that he wanted to be sick. (Also, he called Steve in his hour of need! Boyfriends!)

Rachel was completely awesome in the way she handled the carjacking. She remained relatively calm and she got her daughter the fuck out of danger. She rules.

Chin continues to be vunderbar. And he continues to wear really fantastic jeans. And ride motorcycles. And he siphoned gas! And learned from Steve's half assed tracking lessons so he could leave a fake trail. Chin is win, frankly. (Okay, I need to think of a better phrase. That one is wretched.)

Kono continues to be awesome. I felt that one jump to her feet moment was probably a bit too much, BUT I DO NOT CARE. She should continue to make the guys completely superfluous in taking out the evil doers. Also, she needs to date Witness Julie.

Because Witness Julie was beyond. She kept her shit together, she found weapons in a bathroom, she fled into the jungle with broken glass cutting up her hand because she was not going to go down without a fight. She tried to pull herself up a cliff, she was okay with running around barefoot, she was determined to do the right thing and she did not let anyone stop her. She was amazing.

RPS: it lurks everywhere

So, Federer picked Nadal up at the airport. I mean, sure, there were photographers that clearly got called ahead of time. But ESPN spent part of the morning talking about it and someone totally threw out the term "bromantic" and now my brain has slotted these two tennis rivals as BOYFRIENDS.

Damn it. I've been having a hard enough time holding off from searching out Beckham/Donavon rps.

Snagging this from a few different people...

If you were asked to pick one scene, one shot, one detail, one moment of some kind out of all the things I've written and say "This, this, for whatever reason, I remember, this is something that struck home with me, that I wanted to keep," what would it be?

So. It's Danno's car. And Steve's always driving. I mean seriously, they're actually boyfriends right? Because the only person you ever let drive you around in your car is your significant other.

Also, this means that in the last episode Steve was laying down the law about Danno could display in Danno's car. Steve, you are such a bitch.

In other news, Kono continues to wear shoes that make her look like she has clown feet and chicken legs. Also her least transparent shirt is a white t-shirt, which is just wrong. But she remains awesome.

And Chin remains hot. And awesome. And looking fly on his motorcycle. And hot. Did I mention hot?
