Weekend Reading #52
Cookie Boxes better late than never
Pajamas, LAKE, coffee cup, Anthropologie
I started to slow down for the year as I transitioned into the year of “rest.” Yes, you read that correctly. I chose my word for 2026 early. To say I am excited about this next chapter is an understatement. Friends and family who I have shared this with are skeptical. The word is a theme, not something that happens when the clock strikes midnight. If I can slow down at any rate and get some rest in, I will feel like I have succeeded.
Have you chosen your word for 2026 yet?
Weekend Reading is up on the blog. It is filled with fun articles, including an Emily in Paris piece I enjoyed, even though I haven’t seen the show. It was an interview with Darren Star in Paris and Italy—two of my great loves. Also, as I am working on links, Henri is snuggling with me, and we are binging Ripple on Netflix. This may be my favorite show I have watched in a long time. I don’t want it to end.
This year, we have made many home updates. A new/old desk, and this weekend, I may have finally found an entry dresser. My husband suggested we stop by Ashley and Sloane, but it turned into an afternoon adventure because of the holiday weekend traffic. We both liked the same dresser, which, to our surprise, fit the budget I had in mind the best.
This Sunday, we plan to clear out our current dresser, declutter, and see if it fits in the space. Stay tuned.
Holiday Cookie Boxes
I recently shared my cookie box recipes in this blog post. Everyone in my family has a favorite, and they are all different. It is part of the fun that they all get excited when I text photos of the boxes and what is currently baking.
*pajamas are from Splendid. It is way more fun to bake in your pajamas.
I added this sugar cookie recipe, which was an instant hit. They are quickly disappearing after having friends over on Friday. I crave M&M’s rarely, but around the holidays, I can’t resist them. My nephew got very excited when I offered to make M&M cookies. This is the recipe chilling in the fridge, and I will bake them tomorrow.
Favorite Things This Week

Star garland from Anthropologie that graces our mantle for Chanukkah
I keep reaching for this balm daily.
Koala products are a new favorite. We use their dish soap, hand soap, and kitchen spray. It is eco-friendly and smells so good! I want to try their dog wash next for Henri.
These frames are the best for 5x7 and 8x10 prints and cost under $20.

My word of the year for 2026 is homemaker. Yes, I work full time, but it reminds me to be thoughtful about my home and the atmosphere that we return to each day 🩷
