Trying to cheer up someone who is really depressed is an exercise in futility.
Don't tell someone who is depressed to snap out of it or to pull themselves together. Not only does that show ignorance about what being really depressed is, but it also implies that the depressed person has a weak will and will make him/her feel like a failure.

I just bought a Wacom Volito 2 pen/drawing tablet. Since I haven't worked with a pen tablet before, I thought I'd start with a reasonably priced "beginners" tablet.
I drew this one in ArtRage 2, the graphics program which comes with the tablet.
I have a lot of rough sketches for comic strips, so maybe I can scan the sketches and finish the drawings on the computer, instead of re-sketching, then drawing then inking by hand.
I'm currently working on the last part of the "Wishes" 3-parter strip, which should've been strip #17. Not so easy yet to get nice lines with digital inking.

I made up the name from 3 Ancient Egyptian words. The approximate meaning is "little fat weaver".

OMG! First strip in 2008!
I plan this to be a mini-mini story. Don't know exactly how many strips, though. Maybe 5.
This, I think, is the fastest drawn strip I've made. I used A5 sized paper instead of A4, which meant I didn't get hung up on details. I sketched, drew, inked and put in a bit of colour with felt-tip pens - all in one day. I hand-lettered it too, but that looked bad, so I added text in Photoshop.
The "art" isn't my best by a long shot, but, hey, if it means being able to finish a strip in a day I may feel tempted to draw more often, and get more practice.

ETA 30.11.2008:
I wasn't too happy with the finished strip, so I added some more colours.
