The Bags We Use for Our CBD Flowers, Hash, Oils and Vapes
Most people open their order, grab the product, and throw the bag away. That’s fine. But the bag is doing real work before you get there, and we chose it for specific reasons.
Light, oxygen, and moisture are the three main things that degrade cannabinoids over time. A bag that blocks all three is doing something useful. One that doesn’t is just wrapping.
Here’s what we use and what it actually does.

Metallised Martha by Packiro
The material is called Metallised Martha, made by the European packaging company Packiro. It’s a three-layer mono-plastic pouch with a thin metallised coating on the inside.
The three layers are:
- Outer layer (BOPP matt):Â The printable surface on the outside
- Middle layer (OPP metallised):Â The metallic coating that blocks UV light and acts as a barrier
- Inner layer (CPP transparent):Â Food-safe plastic that comes into contact with the product
All three layers are made from the same plastic family (polypropylene). That’s what makes it mono-plastic, and it matters when it comes to recycling.

What the material blocks
UV light: 99.95% blocked
CBD flowers and hash are light-sensitive. UV exposure breaks down cannabinoids and terpenes over time. The metallised layer blocks virtually all UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C. It’s the same reason quality coffee and tea are sold in similar pouches.
Oxygen transmission (OTR): below 25 cm³/m²×24h
Oxygen drives oxidation. Lower transmission means flowers and hash stay fresher longer, and the terpene profile holds up better. Terpenes are what give each strain its specific smell and flavour — if you want to understand more about them, our article on terpenes in cannabis covers it.
Moisture transmission (WVTR): below 0.1 g/m²×24h
This is an extremely low moisture transmission rate. For CBD flowers, getting the humidity right matters. Too moist and you have mould risk. Too dry and the buds become brittle and lose quality. A tight moisture barrier keeps conditions stable from packing to opening.
The products we pack in these bags
CBD flowers
All our CBD flower strains ship in Martha bags. Flowers are the most sensitive of everything we sell when it comes to light, air, and humidity, so this is where the material does the most work.Â
CBD hash
Same protection needs as flowers. Hash is also light- and oxygen-sensitive, and poor packaging accelerates degradation.

CBD oils
Our oils ship in Martha bags as well. For oils, the main benefits are the aroma barrier, UV protection, and the resealable zipper that lets you close the bag between uses.
CBD vapes
Cartridges and disposables are packed in Martha bags for shipping and storage. The protection here is mainly about keeping the oil inside the cartridge in good condition before use. You can see the full range in our cbd vape category.
Recyclable
The bags carry the “Made for Recycling” certification from Interzero, a German recycling services company. That means the material has been tested and verified as recyclable under real-world conditions.
Because all layers are the same type of plastic, there’s no need to separate materials before recycling. The bags go in the yellow bin in Germany and in similar collection systems across Europe.
No BPA. No aluminium. No solvent-based adhesives. Food certified. Made in Europe.
Why we're telling you this
The cheap packaging option and the good packaging option look identical from the outside. You can’t tell by looking at a pouch whether it’s doing anything useful.
We chose Metallised Martha because the specs hold up. That’s the same approach we take with everything else — GMP-certified manufacturing, CCell hardware in our vapes, lab testing on every product. The details add up, and we’d rather be transparent about them than not.
