Exams are over, hurrah! Picspam!

Last weekend we made pot pies (spinach and feta and pinenut vs chicken) with cream cheese pastry hnnnng:

(recipes off shutterbean.com if anyone fancies giving them a go! forgot to chop spinach more finely, otherwise were NOMMY)

I also made gnocchi and they were freaking tasty! But took forever, baw.

So Neff and I went out after my final exam (classical and statistical thermodynamics at half-nine) into London for dinner (steak and salad and chips) and our first cocktail of the day (I had a lemon tree - lemon rum with mint leaves, lemonade, other snazzy things - it was delish), before moving on to Lush (we bought about 15 bath bombs and a few other bits), and then the Orbital's new location (sells comics and manga, pretty nice), pootled around Leicester Square and Covent Garden, found the most awesome road in Soho with old designer/vintage clothing (couple of Westwood jackets in there were so gorgeous, but also mildly expensive) and fabric shops until we found Forbidden Planet, which I'd never been into but blimey. They had some absolutely gorgeous figurines in there (massive Darth Talon statue, anyone? And the obligatory Harley Quinn and Ivy, of course) - it was like the first culture shock you get at a con is the only way I can describe it! They were taking stock, so I couldn't venture into the Star Wars section, sadly, but we picked up a zombie cupcake cookbook (it is awesome), Cosplay Fever Red (to see who we knew in it again), the Dead Space novel and volume 2 of MPD Psycho, which we've been meaning to read for aaaaaaaages.

Um. Then Neff dragged me away, again, because that's just what she does, and also so we could meander through Chinatown to find the Hummingbird Cupcake Bakery (does gorgeous looking cakes - we bought three and could only eat two bites of the red velvet cupcake because holy damn they're so rich.

THEN MORE COCKTAILS. We went to the Shaftesbury, which was a HIDEOUS shade of pink everywhere (and we got carded this time, hurray, we don't look that old!) and had 2 and a half cocktails each (we don't usually drink this much, I swear) - I had whatever's in a Woo Woo (cranberry juice and vodka and schnapps, I think). Neff's was gin with...more gin? And a lime.

then we went off for frozen yoghurt at Snog.

(yes, that is pineapple, strawberry, chocolate brownie and a massive cookie you see before you).

And then we came home, had a bath and went to beeeeeeeed because I was a sleepy noodle. Oh no, wait, I lie. We came home, had a bath, went to McDonalds

and then went to bed.

Basically we went on a tiny food and drink tour in part of London. IT WAS A GOOD DAY.

And now, Raven tries to tidy up the living room/make a graphics tablet cosey with shark fabric/cross-stitch Great A'Tuin/make patterns for cosplay/ falls asleep again.

A bunch of people on my flist have been offering fic up for help_japan . I'm not a ficwriter, but I thought I'd offer what I could this time, as I couldn't do anything for the last one.

So I'm doing cross-stitched sprites. Any game, although I'm most familiar with the Pokemon/Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts sprites (you can see a couple I've done at my dA). (If you want to know whether it's possible do something else from another game/anime/whatever, send me a picture, and I'll talk it through with you). If the bidding goes above $30, I'll do a sprite each for the highest two bidders. I'm also matching the highest winning bid.

My lovely uni friend smilies__rule is also offering up the world's most adorable chibi charms here. (She made me a Roxas one, and it is so freaking amazing).

My girlfriend neffectual is also putting up auctions for a) fic (Kingdom Hearts, Kuroshitsuji, Inception fandoms) and b) recording anything you would like in her fabulously delicious English accent. She has a snazzy voice, believe me.

Another one of my friends goodbyemagpie is doing fic for the fandoms: Kingdom Hearts, FMA and Ouran High School here.

One of my flisters, raphien is also offering fic from any fandom she is familiar with on her own journal. Anyone who donates will receive a fic drabblet :).

On a whim, I decided to pull out most of what I had for Arkham Harley Quinn today. There're so many inaccuracies I'm going to have to bear because I'm not capable of making a corset yet, and for the sake of tightlacing, I'm going to have to wear a longer underbust instead (unless my shorter one without a busk actually does tightlace as much as the other one does), and the boots need covering and I need a pigtail wig or need to redo this one as it's dying slowly, and make gloves and bits and bobs, but so far, not looking toooo bad. I think the main thing is "ho'fuck, dat cleavage of doom", as emmy and joe just put it. I can tell I'm going to have much fun in this costume!

Just tried rewashing my Ciel dress. (Quick recap - I commissioned someone to make me a girl!Ciel wig - this was a year or two back before they were all over ebay and there was literally nothing - and she told me she'd be able to dye it the right colour. Stupidly, I agreed - she seemed to have good feedback from the UK lot and her wigs seemed pretty nicely done. I received it, and ...the amount of dye that came off onto my dress and arms and hands and face was just phenomenal. It was badly styled, the wefts she'd put in were showing space at the back, she'd glued bits of it together and it was far too small for my head. Mostly, I'm pissed off about the dye not coming out), So, I wash it in things, and soak the dress and the hat, and do stuff to it that she recommends will help with the dye (that she'd told me was washing clear and was totally absolutely fine despite me being able to press my fingers to it and stuff just coming off) and still nothing. I am fed up. Kinda wish I'd had the balls to email her back after she'd told me to use something on it and demand a refund, but I guess I'm too fucking shy. Ah well. Anyone know anything that ought to get alcohol-based dye out? I think I'll email her back and ghgchgvchgvhgvhg, I've no idea. It was bloody expensive too, and she wanted to dye it green, initially. (And I was going to try selling the dress on as well. No chance of that now.)

Making a shortlist of wigs to buy. Right now I'm looking at Axel, Roxas, Zexion, and boy!Ciel base-wigs, I just want to make sure I don't need anything else before I do the order. I kind of want pigtails as well for Harley (and possibly a new girl!Ciel wig, but they don't do the right colour yet!) but I'll see.

Finished Deep Space and the other one in BBS. Still can't do the fucking ice cream, so I'm playing around in the Mirage Arena for a bit. :/ Still on Ven's story, and it's been about 29 hours. I think I'm going to go start Terra.

Enough whining. I should be programming. Blarghghgvhgv.

We went to Bristol today, randomly for an exhibit and ended up wandering around the countryside looking for the seaside (how we lost it in the first plase, I have noooo idea..). There was a lot of faggotry, Sora and Axel conversation, a little Roxas/Axel which basically culminated in "I VOTE FOR CHEESE *muffle*" and general insanity. The apple juice spilt and ruined a bit of one of my notebooks and some original slash but 'twas easily fixed.

It was great fun. I miss my friends, but only seem to remember when I see them what a sight for these sore eyes they really are. I'm really very lucky. I love them all.
Especially you, you know who you are. (I'm still not sure I even deserve you, but there we go, you're not getting away that easily, dammit, so you are, in fact, stuck with me).

That's the fifth person today who's told me I need to believe in myself more. Once (okay, several times) from the girlfriend, another couple of times from the ex-girlfriend, and from other friends. I don't know. I don't think I'm that self-blagh, really. Jack was nice though, ~~even if we're having a secret rendezvous in the graveyard, like what?~~ But yeah, getting stuff off my disproportionately-proportioned chest was nice, even if he vanished when it was getting good.

Aaaaah well.

In other words, the Sho jacket I needed for TWEWY cosplay went on ebay because I left my brother in charge of bidding while I took the dog for a walk and the net spazzed on him, and so I must pay more for one from Japan which will require far more sewing. And I have started nothing else, but the cross-stitch dragon is coming along quite well.

I need to start writing again - it's all very well writing down prompts for pictures, but I c~~an't draw~~ don't trust myself enough to do them yet, and since the piano is not an easy medium with which to convey the nuances of speech, it falls to writing. Ugh. Do I really need to kill Mikami off? What will Kitazawa do? Why is Raven being a stubborn-fucking arse and why does Darren let him and why can't they just live like normal people? If I bury people's heads in a wood for safe-keeping and eventual story-telling and advice-asking, how do I keep the plebs away? (barring the fact it's an evil spooky suicide-inducing wood,of course). Does a buried head cackletalk when kept in a jar when no one can hear it? Bah. Too many questions. I can't even write fanfic, which is a bit blegh. Blegh. Blegh to all. I blegh you.

I think I get what Jack and Alex meant now XD.

Barring the fact that that just gave me a seizure and quite possibly, a heart attack, that was hilarious. Bad mood continues unabated, only to be made worse by the realisation it is the Summer Ball tonight and they have fucking dodgems. Bastards. I would care, but bastards. Okay, maybe not so unabated, but blagh. Blaaaaargh.

358/2 does look fairly epic, except for those damn spoilers. Damn you. Now I know what happens (but I still want the game because ~~hello? ROXAS!~~ it looks awesome and I has the right hh console for it, huzzah. I would soldier on and acquire more games, but apparently I have to cosplay at Aya. I don't even know the characters well enough to do so, but oh, well. (cut for dreamwidth akuroku vitriol et al :3).

I'm so tempted to find a rip of the Sims 3 when it's all calmed down, just so I can create people and point and laugh, but effort. Off I go to fail to tidy my room and listen to the fucking noise. I might even go up to Founders and point and laugh, just so I can have something to moan about.

Waaaaaaaaaaay too hot.
There's also no sea-salt ice-cream to counter-act the heat either.
I really miss my fountain pen. I have fanfiction ideas and I just can't get them out. And they don't sell my stupidly expensive fountain pen anymore. Bah. Bah. Baaaaaaaah, I say.

It's still boiling. Roxas is dead. Roxas died at the picnic in all his corseted, industrial silk glamour. (In other words my Organization XIII and VIII t-shirts came a few days ago, yay! They're fucking huge for a small. ).

My room looks really empty without all my books and things. I'm going to miss this room and its vultures and Sophie and the stupidly loud person who lives above me (okay, maybe not) and living really close to Bryn and Dom and everyone. :( I still have a week left, I guess.

Fuck knows what I'm doing for Aya, to be honest. Unless I have a job, I doubt I'll be able to do anything properly and so might end up reusing old cosplays and just going casual for a couple because I fail. Luckily they haven't said outright I can't play, so that at least appears to be going through. I'll go through the options off my dA when I'm not playing on my Grell-coloured DS (lalalalalalala~!)

New York is however, a definite as the tickets are being booked tonight. That'll be amazing. I miss it. I'll have to find that Japanese music shop again xD

Thought I'd post this for myself, for nostalgia's sake, seeing as I'm going through things I used to watch when I was little.

These are the two parts of the short animated film "The Treasure of the Grotoceans" which has little orange tetrapus-liked creatures collecting things under the sea, and doing funny dances, in the space of 16 minutes - it's also a film without dialogue, and the music fits it perfectly. I remember recording it and watching on repeat when I was about three. Took me a good few hours to find out what it was called, so it's not really been a wasted day.

But yeah. Pre-expo was Neff at mine, both of us going uyvyhvkjhvkluvkvkwhvckhkvhv over sewing and stuff. Didn't sleep. Then wandered to expo. Was a nice warm day. And stuff. Keyblades just....argh. Yeah. Everywhere. All over my hands and our clothes and
This awesome leather-clad Gambit (with a Deadpool and one other) came over while we were all eeeeeee over him and was like "Keyblades. Awesome." And yeah. That made our day. (The PVC woman did have a delectable arse though). That was like, yeah, awesome.
We didn't spend much time in the main hall, it was bloody hot and neither of us had anything to carry stuff back in and yeah, hot and keyblades. So outside again. Met with friends. Sat on grass. And stuff.

Then the Saturday surprise. :DDD

We are amazing and amazing.

Found Dani and co, and did a bit more wandering. Yup. Wandering. That's pretty much all we did in the afternoon really. Was nice though. One bit made me go D: in my brain later though, but at the time was nice.

It's never been that hot/crowded before, I swear. And I don't remember there being so many children...

I'm really cold now D:
But still happy.:D

I think it needs drawing, if only for the 4-panel glee that can be attained by having Ciel as the all-powerful and Sebastian as "Son". It sounds a little Hellblazer-y too, so maybe I can draw on that for doodlespiration.

I don't know, I think with the addition of a few fluffy clouds and a lot more cake, it might work.

Innnnnn other words, I NEED A PIANO. I need to transcribe the op and eds onto piano because I did it at the end of the holiday and forgot to record them and it's driving me bonkers. And ~~stuff~~ "A Strange Place In Time" soundtrack thingy. I just need an excuse to use a piano really. Anything not borne from desperation or revision.....that and I've managed to order that victorian shirt with ruffles, the eyeglasses chain to mod for Grell's glasses (not that I could pull him off in a million years), wig hair spray/comb, converse boots, and the lip/ear chain thingy. Nuclear red will be coming soon, yay. And underbust should be here once post opens. Now I just need to find someone to make me that waistcoat/corset thingy and find/make that red skirt.

Ooooh, and Kitacon. Still need to write that up. Will upload picture of self as Anthy Himemiya from Utena anyway, because I rather like this photo and I need to do a Kitacon journal at some point......also because my Ciel was fail. ~~AND HAD BREASTS.~~
