Rare Dimension

Audiosocket

Audiosocket is a Seattle-based music licensing platform connecting creative professionals with high-quality tracks for film, TV, advertising, and digital content. After years of feature creep and an increasingly cluttered interface, they needed a redesign that would make music discovery intuitive and exciting again—something that actually felt like the creative tool their users needed.

brief
Audiosocket's platform had evolved into a complex, button-heavy interface that buried its most valuable feature—an extensive, carefully curated music library. Creative professionals were getting lost in navigation, and the site didn't reflect the energy of the music it represented. The platform needed to feel less like enterprise software and more like a creative tool.
strategy
We leaned into a Y2K aesthetic as a strategic design language—visually dynamic elements that guide attention and create clear hierarchy without sacrificing usability. The focus: transforming the music player into an immersive discovery experience, integrating AI-powered search into an intuitive interface, and creating a custom production landing page that makes commissioning feel approachable.

Finding the Frequency

Our visual direction drew from the unmistakable energy of early-2000s music videos—think Missy Elliott’s “Rain” and Aaliyah’s “Try Again”—where chrome, organic shapes, and digital optimism collided. The goal wasn’t nostalgia for its own sake, but to channel that era’s playful sensbilities into a platform built for tomorrow’s creative teams.

Homepage Y2K Refresh

The Y2K aesthetic does more than just look good – it strategically highlights key sections and guides users with visual purpose. The result is a vibrant platform that not only looks fresh but fundamentally improves how creative teams discover and license music. Initial feedback suggests a significant leap in user satisfaction and platform engagement!

UI/ UX redesign

The music licensing page was the heart of our redesign—the critical nexus where creative professionals discover the perfect soundtrack for their projects. We approached this central interface with meticulous care, understanding that every design decision would directly impact how artists and creators interact with Audiosocket’s extensive music library.
The icon selection was a critical component, balancing aesthetic appeal with enhanced usability. Each icon was carefully selected to be both visually striking and immediately comprehensible, eliminating user confusion while maintaining the platform’s playful rebrand energy.

Working closely with the AS development team, we also integrated their state-of-the-art AI into the search redesign, enabling more intuitive and precise music discovery from users.

ASX Custom Music Production Page

Finally, Rare Dimension designed a vibrant landing page for ASX (the custom production music arm of Audiosocket). The page connects digital creators with professional music production teams, incorporating the same rebrand (with a slight remix) into their custom audio services. The design speaks directly to today’s content creators and companies through a bold mix of grungy halftone textures and minimalist white space, creating an environment that feels both energetic and professional.
The layout makes custom music production approachable and exciting, clearly showcasing the range of services—from original scores and custom tracks to voiceovers and sound design. By balancing Gen-Z visual appeal with clear service presentation, we created a space where creators, influencers, and companies can confidently explore their custom audio options and connect with professional production teams.

The intentionally youthful design language transforms what could be an intimidating custom music commissioning process into an engaging, straightforward experience that resonates with digital-native creators while maintaining the professionalism expected by corporate clients.
