On Voice Chat, Expectations & Music

The truth is that the vast majority of people aren’t interested in simulating a scrim environment, and that simply is not what the ranked system is capable of. It pairs random players with each other, of similar enough skill level, essentially a giant automated PUG system. I believe that failing to understand this and setting specific expectations about how the game should be played only blinds you to how people actually interact with the game, and attempting to overregulate that hurts not only those minding their own business, but also your own self.  Let’s not act ignorant about the many inconveniences of voice chat and its poster child : toxicity. Many will say that we should join voice chat and are free to leave or mute someone if toxicity arises, but the harm is already done.  If there ever was any awe in watching a game, it surely has always presented itself in the new. From new strategies to new heroes, we rejoice in these omens that our game has yet to lie in its deathbed and still has much to offer. Even when the old still seems to entertain, it is only because we envision it to step into a heraclitean flow of things, excited by the uncertainty and the expectation that it will do it again, anew.   Is it indifference that drives people to such one dimensional lifestyles ? It is almost unfathomable that one would even enjoy themselves as they inevitably run into wall after wall, subjected to the limits of their folly, but this behavior is far from unheard of. Some people rewatch their favorite movie dozens of times, some always eat the same food ; do dogs not get ever so excited when it is time to go for a walk ? I tried learning how to juggle, starting with wool dryer balls. Then I moved onto hacky sacks, then bowling pins, then plushies, bottles, pens... Each object annoyingly slipping through my fingers countless times. Did I juggle different tools, or did the tools teach me how to juggle ?
