Years ago I was pretty active with making graphics, sites and art. I even won quite a few awards with it in the LJ communities and even on real websites (like Lord of the rings games etc).

After my job got busier I lost the time for it and had a maor art block. From time to time tried to get back but my artwork was never good enough for my own standards.

Today I thought.. What the fuck ever.
I have installed photoshops, I am downloading my brushes again and new artwork is coming up as we speak. Icons can be requested again and soon iconspam might be (ab)used again for some major iconage.

So if you want anything done.. small doodles (chibi elves, wow characters, dollfies etc). Icons or banners (even wallpapers). Let me know and I be happy to help since I need to practice again.
As for the rating, try me and we work something out ;)

Just a word of warning I am an amateur, however that doesn't mean I am bad. I have gotten better over the years.
Omg
Today when I was slacking off (sorry).I was watching the west wing. Naturally in the middle of a episode I get a blue screen of death. Which was a first one for me on my laptop.

It looked like my laptop died after that. so for the past hours I have been panicky. I called support since the laptop didn't react anymore and was *deaded* no screen, no nothing. So I called up since I still have warranty(I am sorry but I had two guys, first guy was treating me like I was a dumb idiot. Second one was nice. But man that line is crappy). and I arranged for the laptop to be picked up and such. They would look into it and otherwise I got a replacement.

The screen was dead so I tried to see something more with an extra monitor get locked on it. And nothing :( It's just plain annoying since I now need to find my beloved old computer and run 324384 patched to get wow running.

EDIT: seems god has gone digital XD
In the middle of my sad face period, the computer suddenly fired up and started a repair. Right now it blinks at me that it's all done and the system is a-okay. So it's back up time and check up time. Still they way it happened was weird as the computer was *dead*.. It didn't react to anything and suddenly it fires up and acts like nothing happened.

So in a fit of curiousity I decided to take a lap and start reading the much buzzed about "Twilight" novels by Stephanie Meyers

Now for the one's who don't know it.. This November/ December (04 of December for us Dutchies) there is a movie coming out based on the first book. And for some reason there is a massive amount of people going banana's over that stuff. I had no idea what they were on about.. apparantly it was a Harry Potter-esque story with love and highschool, but sans wizards. They were replaced with Vampires and Werewolves. Now as manyo you know I am loving myself some <strike>Gangrels</strike> Vampires and Werewolves.

The first thing that tremendously amused me was that actually one of the Potter actors was in it. For me seeing a Harry Potter movie is much fun but I am more the * hey Lucius and Severus are wicked* type and most students are meh to me. That's because I started reading the books before the novels and most students I have my own interpetation for. Wel anyway he seems to have played Cederic Diggory. For some reason I can remember him, so good for him as he plays the token *hot mysterious hearthrob* also in Twilight. I am going to see Twilight in the Cinema twice.. Because for some reason I thnk my mom will adore it.

The books itself are not very well written. I can see the entertainment value.. But after reading some stuff from the 40k-verse it was a bit of a shock going from Sweaty, gory space marines and ordo hereticus back to a cold damp place filled with hormones and angst (wait a sec, it actually sounds very alike only 40K has wicked armour and Bolters).
It;s by no means a good book, Bella is just so in love it gets sickening and Edward (the token mysterious goody vampire) is just fueling the mary sue fire. I think it's amazingly stupid when a writer takes time to explain her main-character isn't hot at all and yet manages to get 4-5 guys drooling over her (which means almost all the guys who don't have an relationship already in the book). As Kitty said.. Hello Anita Blake! As it was obvious that they thought she was hot..

But the books work as a guilty pleasure.. I don't like the way is written and a times you really want to slap the main characters and get the story going and moving on from the depression. Tjeez I thought I was sad and sickening at the moment, but bella is the a master in the "woe is me" state of mind. Yet I read the entire series in a week.. I wanted to know how it ended. I genuinely liked some of the characters like Jacob and Rosalie. It´s weird but for a book that has so many issues it did provide me with some solid hours of enterainment.. And it seems many more people thought like that.. Many posters on ONTD said they didn't like the style, the main characters but for some reason couldnt stop reading and had to know how it ended. And I think that's a good thing..

PS: And it was a good excuse to not start on my 64th attempt on book two of "Wheel of Time" which takes me ages to get into (yes I amd bad). Or the second Series of the <strike>Drizzlt</strike> Drizzt books ( Hello gary-stu).

PS2: Twilght naturally has his share of fans who go a bit overboard..
http://nl.youtube.com/user/nuttymadam3575 She is nuts but I applaud they way she takes it into stride.

PS3: I will make some twilight icons.. as soon as I can get a solid PS version on this laptop

I dinged lvl 70 last night on my arrogant Belf warlock.. Over the time I played him I even made a character with entire background for him. I love to play that character.
But first I need my epic warlock mount :) and than buy my flying mount, do the instances for my dungeon set so I can work on perhaps doing heroics and Kara.

And omg Laurence Fisburne is gonna play a character on CSI since gil Grissom is leaving. I adore the acting of both Petersen and Fishburn and think they made a solid choice. From what I gathered the team will be lead by Catherine and Nick

*cheer*

So yesterday I went to Castlefest and tried to get some information on larping and perhaps give it a shot. So we got signed up for a preview with Vortex and only returned at the agreed time to find out it was canceled.

The thing is that I really want to try my hand at larp. But after the information overload and misfortune of yesterday I kinda want to take a slow pace and see if I am even "fit" for playing larp. I don't like the idea to just randomly pick a club and then start right off without at least a "basic" idea.

My experience so far has been playing D&D, Demon, Vampire, Exalted etc etc as table top.

So Larp loving friends.. Any advice and expriences you want to share about rolling itno it and which societies there are? Everything is more than welcome and if you have friends who have something to say as well, please let them comment.

No BSG until 2009?
Good Good Good!

I am still stuck in season 1 and that means I can actually catch up a bit until season 4 which is the last season. *grabs the dvd's of Pepijn and runs off*

Also I watched the 4th season of Dcotor Who and I loved some of the episodes. Although the doctor's daughter (loved the actress who played her) was kind of meh and the same for the "silence of the library".

I just don't like it when all of a sudden we get two major characters just thrown in our face. The daughter was all too abrupt and the whole "companion" along with horribly vague background and deep intense love life with the doc, made me go ehm wtf?

Also More Jack!
And I had my doubts but I loved Donna as companion.. And Martha was also way cooler now. Less of that "omg Doctor"*swoon* it got annoying in the 3rd season.

And yah! for Rose at the end..

This weekend I need to pick up a new phone subscription and a new Phone to go with it (when you take a sub here in the Dutchlands, you often get a free new phone or pay a minor fee for it).

I will be honest, I want a phone to use the internet, see some movies (DR who on the buss is awesome) etc.
The new thing right now is the Iphone, with the current gig I need I can get that thing for free (and wait a week since it's sold out) or I can the "larger GB" version of the Nokia N95.

I currently have a N91 which I love and has lasted for a long time (it's still operating like it's new <3) so I do like Nokia a lot. And I am not a big fan of the Ipod since I never understood the reasoning why I had to shelve out $200 extra just because it says I-pod.

Still I am gonna do rounds in the city this week to se what people have to say. So far two shops today told me that N95 is the best choice over the Ipod (this having to do with the I pos having less features etc)

SO if you guys know something about it. please let me know.

I follow the soccer matches from the Netherlands ever since the Euro 2008 started. And naturally as most people in my country I hope they will win.

However tragedy hit one of the team-players and he just lost his child. Which is a very indeed :(

What dissapoints me however is the ammount of twats from the opposing teams who actually are cheering now for that fact. Because with such a tragedy befalling that player (and it also affects the team) they hope the Netherlands will be devestated and lose. They think it some great oppurtunity for them.

Really all I want to say to these people is GTFO. What happened is a tragic and heartbreaking event for that family their loved one's and friends. Talking about it the way some do is just sickening.

As some of you might know I have been subsribded to a list for Homes in the are of my city. Since the situation on the housing market is tense the waiting for an appartment (unless you buy or rent at inflated prices) are at least 4 to 10 years if you are a normal working citizen.

I have been subscribded since 2004 and every week there were fewer and fewer houses I could have a shot at. My income is too high for them and basically they are giving you the finger and telling you to buy.

That is no option for me, some things need to settled down first before I buy. Esp. since Pepijn is graduating now.

Lo and behold.. Last week we got an offer that we were 4th in place and we could take a look at an appartment. Sure the neighbourhood is not supadupa cool and hot, but it's close to what we want and need. And for a mere 450 euro a month (including servicecosts etc) and 5 chambers with 92 sqaure meter it sounded nice.

We liked what we saw and we so happened to be the only people who actually could pay for that home. So we thought about it and I am excited to announce that this coming Monday we'll be picking up the keys.

So yeah, Pepijn and I will be moving in together.. When everything is done we'll be throwing a House warming party with snacks, drinks and breakfast for people who might want to crash ;-)

The period she was gone was quite stressfull esp. since the men were a bit more dependant on thinsg than was good for them and we were hit with not so good news twice which was a big downer and emotional very stressfull.

Luckily I have had some patient people who guided me through all of this.. <3
But the period made me realise some very important things and matured me a lot.

And I am so stupid.. over at my other blog I always wondered why I never got comments?
Okay how sad is it that within less than a year I managed to get a hold of 180 WoD books?
It's beyond weird but I have so many... all the hardcovers from vampire (yes got a brand spanking new Encyclopedia Vampirica) and many others. Also the very ehm.. wrong book I searxched ebay for, is now mine.

The worst thing is that many more will follow.. I know now where to get them cheap *evil grin*
Basically all I need now is boks that are fairly cheap anyway. So I will be aquiring those slowly but surely.

However when looking at my closet I have little room left. So when I go and live on my own, the first thing I need is one hell of a bookcase. Esp. since I just remembered i only have space since my spare copies are at Pepijn's place.

Hmm might sell some stuff as I aquired some double's from the 1st edition clan books and I have two HC from both vampire -revised (which I keep) and Hunter. If only I had a spare copie from Dark Ages Fae - that price is unbelievable these days.

At the moment I only need a few and than I have all the world of Darkness series (at least the revised corebooks)

Wraith; the Oblivion
Wraith: Dark Wars
Werewolf; the Apocalypse
Werewolf; the Wild West

Volgens mij heb ik de rest zo'n beetje wel

Sometimes it is not always fun when you are proven to be right..

Since years the Elf fantasy shops were always a nice stop on a day of shopping.. they used to be fun entertaining and filled people who knew what the fuck they were talking about. Sadly that all faded away soon..

Yes they still had stuff for us table top rpg-ers and you could get all the fantasy novels, boardsgames etc. But in the end their prices rose while the quality of the shop was less what it used to me.

They made several very poor management choices.. The biggest was when Pasje left Rotterdam as manager and the shop was after open when they felt like it. The best of the whole thing was when the sister in law of the one of the EFF managers started to work there.

Bullshit galore!! I was there once and she A. didn't spean any dutch (Wtf?) and her english wasn't too good either. And B she didn't know anythinmg, wether it was their stock, the prices or where she could find stuff.

In the end no-one came there anymore and the shop was closed. After that The shop it all started with was closed as well. And so now both Delft and Rotterdam were once again without an elf.

And yesterday the announcement came..
The Elf will close

IMHo this will kill them good..
I have ordere three times something in the shop and it was Hell.. Products were not delivered.. Products that were supposed to be in were out of stock (which they old told me after 2 weeks) etc. And when you see the other online retailers they are also quite expensive. So unless they shape up there will be some major issues.

Also they will now try to organise events (perhaps in other countries) more than once a year. Seeing as their last attempt (Fantasy travels) failed miserably I do hope that this time they have an actual plan. Ideas are fun but plans are better!

Still I am saddened as all of this doesn't bode well.
I am met some wonderfull people thanks to the Elf and had great times there.. But all good things come to an end I guess and I am sad that this end seems to have come so soon. The idea and intenet were there but it was badly excecuted..
