I keep saying this but I really would love to get back into the swing of things, posting wise. I really miss interacting with you all, honestly! I need to just do some picspam about my life over the past year or something, srsly. THE GUILT IS GNAWING AT ME.

But most recently, here's what's up:
- I'm relocating to NYC on Wednesday to see if I can find a writing gig there or something. I'm feeling pretty nervous but we'll see how things go, right? But mostly I feel like I'm gonna barf ^__^
- I got photos taken of my by some style bloggers yesterday at the Melrose flea market. And I bought a really amazing floral blazer from them (READ MORE ABOUT IT HERE):

- I've still been writing fic and all that jazz btw. Still one of my favorite hobbies. Still too emotionally invested in Lily Evans. THE USUAL
- TV I'VE BEEN WATCHING: Game of Thrones (I was peer pressured) and My Mad Fat Diary (which ended its season about a month ago but wow such great television. And I have a lot of THOUGHTS about the lack of coming of age programing in the states compared to shows in the UK but that will be for another post. Really, it will!)
- I want to go to Glastonbury so fucking much but plane tickets to the UK are a fortune rn and I prob won't be able to afford a ticket for Glastonbury anyway BUT ARCTIC MONKEYS ARE HEADLINING AND I AM SO SO MAD D:

Not sure what else is up but I'll make an effort to update more. Really, this wasn't so hard. I mean maybe it was boring but…whatever.

2011 IN A GLANCE

This year I...

Studied in London for nearly 6 months and travelled around the UK and Greece! Definitely the highlight of my year. It was a place where I met amazing people, went to amazing places, and had plenty of firsts. Just, wow, I cannot wait to go back.

Also in London: Saw Patrick Wolf, met the cast of Skins, managed not to damage my liver or lungs but deffo spent too much money :|
Saw Arctic Monkeys TWICE. And met Alex again :')
Experienced my last HP movie premiere. Woe tbh.
Made a tumblr (LOL OH GAWD) but I have 0 regrets and met some pretty fucking top notch people
Turned 21, finally.
It was also the year of stress, anxiety, and becoming so exhausted by academia. I'm hoping I can graduate uni on time and that worry alone is causing a lot of grief. Also, I'm getting tested for ADD this week, and I definitely think I have it. That discovery is both a relief and frustrating, but it's better that I know now than later!

I guess that more good things happened than bad, but I'm hoping that 2012 is even better. WE'LL SEE…

ADD TALK

So as some of you know I recently realized that I very very very likely have ADD, which has been undetected by myself, my family, and educators for YEARS. I mean, I sort of get it, because I can understand why it can go pretty undetected for someone like me who wasn't really fulfilling a bullshit stereotype of what ADD looks like, even though all the signs were pretty much THERE. My therapist rec'd some placed to get a complete diagnosis but just about everywhere from UCLA to private practices are fucking booked until March, but we're still trying. I'd rather do it now before going back to DC because I know I'm going to fucking sit on my ass and not do shit about it (not because I don't want a diagnosis, but because I just have a shit time getting around to doing things I need to do :\).

Anyway I got bored and was looking at this list of indicators and was just crossing off what doesn't apply to me and bolded what did.

Also, I'd really appreciate it if y'all don't just leave a comment saying, "OMG EVERYBODY GOES THROUGH THIS LOL I PROCRASTINATE ALL THE TIME ^_^" because uh, yeah, all of these are things people, especially students, can relate to. But for me and people who have similar problems, it can be fucking debilitating in the worst way and it is constant. This is more than just "lol on tumblr instead of doing my work" or "lol waited til the last minute to do my paper." This extends to even the most BASIC of tasks for me, and when it is coupled with anxiety issues and perfectionism and slacking off, it ends up screwing me over in the worst way and I always end up playing catch up in more ways than one. It's not really about intelligence or smarts or anything, it's about the fact that I often have to work twice as hard to get shit done because my brain just isn't always there and even when I know it NEEDS to be there, it causes anxiety and stress to a paralyzing degree. So yeah, just keep that in mind.

Hey so I was in San Francisco this weekend for Outside Lands Festival, and I was intrigued by this booth selling hoop scarves and the like. It was from a new clothing company called Stolen Sunday, and they took a photo of me for their promotional whathaveyous. Also, when their official site is up, I'll be on it! I told them about my own site and they said that they would love to send me their products and have me try them and talk about them on the site which is fab! Anyway, yeah :) THAT IS ALL!

So, hey guys. Basically, I SUCK. I really have no excuse. I've been on LJ but primarily on comms and rping. Honestly, tumblr has been a huge time waster for me (I'm offbeatorbit there). That said, I checked my flist yesterday and got SAD because I MISS READING ABOUT Y'ALL, SRSLY. And there are some of you who I want to talk to more but some of you don't really use IM so blaaaah.

Still wished we saw them as teenagers. IK that they didn't give it a ton of time but I think that they should have emphasized the fact that their friendship fell apart because of Snape's bigotry, not like...~oh well she fell in love with James and Snape was sad and became a DE~ I think that is what irked me more than anything, really.

Where the fuck were James' glasses? WB HAS A BIG FUCKING BUDGET, WHY COULDN'T THEY GET SOME GLASSES ON THAT BOY, DAMN! And lol @ Sirius' curly ass hair

Snape clutching Lily's dead body. Okay, I'm sorry I could not take that part seriously. I mean it was emotional and all but I was like LOL OMG REALLY? Also, I didn't find it romantic, it was pretty fucked up. So like, as long as people realize how fucked up that is then aight. It was just creepy. I can't really see Snape clutching Lily's dead body like that, really, IDK IDK I KNOW WHAT THEY WERE GOING FOR BUT SOMETHING ABOUT IT JUST REALLY SQUICKED ME OUT AND I ALMOST LAUGHED AT HIS FACE SOOOOOOO...

But overall it was better than it could have been. Never forget Snape's Worst Memory in the 5th film!

7) I cried like an idiot during The Forest Again, of course.

8) Narcissa making sure Draco was alive :3 And the Malfoys just bouncing at the end. Lol, I cheered.

9) They did a good job with dead people being dead. Yup.

10) Blaise was hot as hell. The entire Room of Requirement scene was fab. AS WAS THE BIT WITH HARRY AND THE GRAY LADY.

11) OH THE GENERAL BATTLE SCENE STUFF WAS GORGEOUS AND INTENSE AND A+ AND THE MUSIC WITH IT. JUST, I HAD A LOT OF FEELINGS. OH AND GREYBACK NOMMIN ON LAVENDER BROWN DAMN.

12) Ok I didn't really care for Harry and Voldemort flying around the school. Lol, with that amount of time they could have, idk...done something far more important.

13) LOL THE LUNA/NEVILLE THING WAS SUCH FAN SERVICE BUT I WAS OKAY WITH IT TBH. AND LOL AT PEOPLE WHO SUDDENLY REALIZE THAT MATTHEW LEWIS IS HOT. Y'ALL, HE'S BEEN HOT SINCE LIKE 2007 OR SOME SHIT. Another fan service: The trio taking their clothes off after they jumped into the lake. Dayum.

14) The trio holding hands right before the epilogue :') Too cute.

15) The only person who really looked like a parent during the epilogue was Dan, and I think he looked good. The part with him and Albus-Severus was really cute imo. But lol @ Tom...and Bonnie looked the same just with saggier cheeks. EMMA LOOKED EXACTLY THE SAME OH MY GOD, and Rupert just had some pudge but COME ON EMMA LOOKED THE SAME. Still, the epilogue was cute. And hahaha Albus-Severus had a goddamn ferret.

16) OH I FORGOT, I ACTUALLY REALLY LIKED THE RON/HERMIONE KISS. A LOT.

17) Alan Rickman is still like human ellipses.

OKAY SO THOSE WERE MY THOUGHTS, OR AT LEAST THE THOUGHTS I REMEMBER. I saw it three times that opening weekend and am seeing it again tomorrow in 3D. Lol because they need more money, really. 1 Billion worldwide isn't enough.

But yeah, I didn't have a ticket for the DVD signing they were doing, but me and jessica and a bunch of other ticketless folks were there geeking out and taking photos for an hour. Thankfully they acknowledged us at the end and waved and gave us their love and I just, died. And Karen's dress was just beautiful.
