The phoenix metaphor is perfect here! What's facinating about Let's Glow SF is how it uses light as both literal illumination and metaphorical rebirth to change the narrative around downtown. Your photos capture something data can't: the feeling of a city rediscovering its energy after trauma. The fact that people are gathering at night in the Financial District again isn't just a recovery metric, it's proof that public space can be reclaimed through imaginative interventions that give peoplw a reason to show up.
Yes, and it was heartwarming to see the city back.
What I realized tonight, there wasn’t a policeman in sight. And that’s a good thing. In past years there would be officers along the route, maybe to make people feel safe. This year I don’t think anyone noticed they were not there.
So beautiful! Going to try to be there next Sunday.
Keep me informed of your plans I’d love to meet up with you

Thanks for the kind and thoughtful comments. I’m glad my writing and photos conveyed the feelings I was trying to capture.
Looks like a colorful, fun event!
