Okay, after ~~five seconds~~ a really long discussion, lainay and I decided that this is the end of random_awards. T___T *moment of silence* ...OKAY, THAT'S ENOUGH! ^___^/ Thanks to everyone that participated and stuffs. <3 We actually got two entries for our last theme, which you can view now. =] I'm sad that we didn't get enough entries for voting or anything, though, because I really loved those. T__T *wipes away tear* But this has been an issue for months now, so I guess it's time to say goodbye. XD

Yaaay! This theme is another one of those banner-making ones; I remember we had one about this time last fall. XD Anyway, this layout=OLD, so I think it's time for a new banner. :) Make it based off of this layout, since I'm lazy it's easier to know what's expected of you. What of? That's up to you! We've never had a freestyle theme, so I think it's about time! Although, there are two things you should follow:
1 - Keep in mind the size - don't make it too huge for 800x600 users.
2 - Include "Random Awards" and "Tickle your random fancy!" on it somewhere... Since that's what usually appears on them. :)

AND along with your banner, make a matching icon. Sounds pretty simple? ^^ Last time it worked out, so... *crosses fingers*

Icon rules:
[x] Icon size cannot exceed 100x100 pixels
[x] File size cannot exceed 40kb
[x] 1 icon per person
[x] Do not use anyone else's work
[x] Submit an icon made specifically for this theme
[x] Do not show anyone your icon

Okay, fall changes!

I think I've just been hit with fall fever. I thought you only get spring fever, though? Hm. Must be fall delirium, then. Anyway, please read this, as it will have important changes.

Schedule Change
I haven't exactly cleared this up with lainay yet, but the days it operates for her don't really change much, so hopefully she won't spring out and kill me for this. The new schedule follows as:
The competition starts on Friday at 6PM EST.
The competition runs from that Friday, over the weekend, over the week, and then ends the next Sunday, probably around 6PMEST. So that's nine days to get your icons in. AND you have almost two complete weekends to make them. Sound good?
The voting starts on Sunday, around 6PMEST.
The voting ends on Friday, around 6PMEST. It almost seems ridiculous to have voting run that long, but at the same time, it'd be awkward to have a competition start on a Wednesday or something. Also, some people have issues with the concept of time...

Thoughts?

We Need a Back-Up Mod
As you've all seen, we've had some really big issues with my computer dying, and lainay conveniently being really busy at that moment. And since I can never be too sure if that'll happen again, having someone to back us up would be really nice. So, to apply:
1. Ever been a mod before? Not required, but it would be really helpful.
2. Are you available at the allotted times to do theme-posting, voting, tally the votes, etc? (And, yes, if a theme post is the thing that's needed, you can choose the theme. ^^)
3. I think that basically everybody here has the basic idea on how to run an icontest, either from experience or from being around one for a while. Make sure you do (i.e.: knowing when to screen the comments).
4. That's it, but being a bit random would help, nee? ^^

To Banner Makers
I think we're basically caught up on banner making, but maki_san, how are you coming on week 50, week 48, and week 46? I don't remember seeing banners for those. =/ I know you're busy, so if you want I'll do banners those weeks for you. ^^ If you've already made some, though, could you give those to me? XD

And isghest and kumagorou_beam, do you two know if you happen to be missing any weeks? I don't really remember seeing any, but I was just quickly searching. If you are, it's the same with maki_san: I'll be happy to help. ^^

And do you think it'd lighten your loads at all if I joined the banner making team again? If so, four banner makers is crazy, so maybe writing out a schedule for that would maker it easier to follow. XD

Theme Suggestions?
We've been lacking in awesome ideas these days. So, PLEASE suggest some themes. They don't have to be random. They can be things that you as in an individual make icons of. Specific people, even. Heck, a lot of you share the same interests, so I don't think that'd be much of a problem. Anything would help. Just think about what you'd want to make icons of.

We promise to be cooler, but we've been so lacking on members lately. O_O; We're lucky to get in just enough icons. ;___; We have so many members, but we get barely any entries. Could you all help us with getting members? If so, YOU CAN CHOOSE THE THEME! *__* OF ANYTHING! (Hahaaaa, see how that actually helps us doubley? Woo yes.) But, yeah, any help would be... helpful.

And finally, a HUGE thank-you to all of you that have entered and voted all of these weeks! Seriously, there are about ten of you I can think of off of the top of my head who have entered really consistantly. ^^ Thank you all so much! If I ever win like the Nobel Peace Prize or something, I'll so thank you in my speech. XD But seriously, you guys rock. lainay and I appreciate you all, because without you, random_awards would be just us, and that would be lame. ;____; YAAAY!

I can smell an extension coming along here. XD We have THREE buildings icons in so far, so we need more. ;___; So pleaaase enter? It'd be nice to get your entries in by the next few hours, but I'll understand if no one can. XD

Oh, and since apparently this has been becoming a problem as of late... Either it's that we suck now, but I don't like that conclusion. :P That, or we have a lot of busy members?!?! Would it be easier for anyone if we changed around our schedule so you had time to make icons on the weekends? O.o? We'd have a funky and slightly random schedule then, but if it makes us not have so many extensions. XD If anyone thinks that could possibly be helpful, just comment here about it. ^_^v

Now that we've spent almost a month on week 50, I think it's time to move on in our lives. XD So week 51 theme is buildings. As in... You need a building in your icon. o___p and the OUTSIDE of a building. Not like a room. Like you can have someone leaning up against a building. Or just be all, "Hi, this is NYC, and like... It has buildings in it... Luff meh♥." Something like that. ^^ And if you think we'll have trouble distinguishing a building in your icon (o__p like if you have a person near a building and it could just look a plain wall), directing us to the original picture would be nice. ^^V And... Yeah. I think y'all get the point. SO!

YAY! WE'VE FINALLY MADE IT HERE! WE'VE MADE IT! WE DID IT!! 8DDDD *DANCE!!!* THANK YOU ALL YOU MAKE ME HAPPY YOU INSPIRE ME TO DO GREAT THINGS. ;~~; Now, since this is week FIFTY (yayayayayayayaya 50!! fivety, hahaha... yeah) we're going to have a SUPERDUPERUBERAWESOME THEME!! Kay?! KAY!! I guess we'll call it a scavenger hunt... >D Yus. So, basically, go by these rules:

1. Five icons per person - you need five icons - not two, not four, but FIVE. No more, no less. ^_^
2. Your icon must feature lyrics from a song (please include the artist and song name), which means the same song - use at least three consecutive words and don't reuse any. (Song's your choice, of course.) Use no other words.
3. One icon must be of a fish (and as lainay informed me to tell you all, NOT A DOLPHIN OR A WHALE! Those are MAMMALZ, people, MAMMALZ! XD).
4. One icon must feature a person.
5. One icon must feature a type of food.
6. One icon must be based from a past theme that we've had (Pudding, tires, school, size themes, one letter, etc... Look in the calendar if you can't remember XD But any lyric challenges don't count, thanks to the lyricsness of this. Ya? Ya.).
