{"id":2484,"date":"2019-09-24T13:28:19","date_gmt":"2019-09-24T13:28:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/?p=2484"},"modified":"2023-03-28T14:27:30","modified_gmt":"2023-03-28T14:27:30","slug":"ideas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/ideas","title":{"rendered":"All Ideas Are Great Usually"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2488 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/ideas.png\" alt=\"Ideas\" width=\"560\" height=\"282\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/ideas.png 560w, https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/ideas-300x151.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">All ideas have the potential to work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">If that\u2019s true, why a large percentage of businesses fail within five years?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Usually, how you take a massive action <a href=\"https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/business-management\">determines the success<\/a> of any idea.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Let me explain this.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Go for a walk onto your local high street and pick any business of your choice.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">You can pick any business, type of business does not matter.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Restaurant<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Estate agent<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Clothing shop<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Accountant<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Cab company<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Did you pick it?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Great, now if you pay attention you\u2019ll see no matter, which business you have picked it, you\u2019ll see in the same industry:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&nbsp;A few will be killing it&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A large percentage of the businesses will be doing okay or struggling to survive.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For example, if you have picked a restaurant, a small number of restaurants will be doing an excellent business, opening up more stores etc.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">But most restaurants will be struggling to keep their doors open.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It is not about what you do, it\u2019s all about how you do what you do.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The problem often isn\u2019t in the business idea, it is all about how the people behind the idea take the massive actions.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2491\" src=\"https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Lifecycle-of-an-idea.png\" alt=\"Lifecycle of an idea\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Lifecycle-of-an-idea.png 1024w, https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Lifecycle-of-an-idea-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/Lifecycle-of-an-idea-768x576.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I came across this concept many years ago in a seminar, which became an integral part of my decision-making process.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Here is the breakdown of these 4 parts.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Step 1 &#8211; Ideas <\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Often, the idea isn\u2019t the problem. All ideas have the potential to work.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">For example, if you are a content creator, people are killing at all forms of content creation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Below are some of the people who are inspiring with different content forms.<\/p>\n<h3>Text<\/h3>\n<p><a class=\"_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/brigettehyacinth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Brigette Hyacinth<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Over 2.1 Million LinkedIn followers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/vishnepolsky\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Oleg Vishnepolsky<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Over 1.8 Million LinkedIn followers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/talalalmurad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Talal Al Murad<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Over 300 K LinkedIn followers.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Video&nbsp;<\/h3>\n<p><a class=\"_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/adamdanyal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Adam Danyal<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; Over 400 K LinkedIn followers, sharing only videos of promising tech products.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCOaMOXfe8EWH1GJyhqhXrAA\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Denis<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; A youngster, who has acquired over 7.87 million YouTube subscribers by playing video games in his bedroom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UChGJGhZ9SOOHvBB0Y4DOO_w\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ryan<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> &#8211; A kid and another YouTuber, with over 21.6 million subscribers in 4 years by reviewing toys.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Photos<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><a class=\"_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/humansofny\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Humans of NY<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&nbsp;&#8211; 9.4 Million Instagram followers, Brandon Stanton built this by sharing photo stories of random people in NY.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/doctor.mike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Dr Mike Varshavski<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&nbsp;&#8211; 3.3 Million Instagram followers, Dr Mike built this massive following by sharing his photographs and being himself.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/soworthloving\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">So Worth Living&nbsp;<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&#8211; 64.4K Instagram followers, they built the brand by sharing inspiring quotes using photos.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">All ideas have the potential to work, it all depends on how you make the idea work for you. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I think the biggest lesson to learn from these people is that we should play to our strengths.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">If you are a content creator, have you figured out what is your strength (text, video or photos)?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Step 2 &#8211; Massive Action<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Most people fail at this step and blame the idea.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">As per&nbsp;<\/span><a class=\"_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/michaelegerber\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Michael E Garber<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, author of The E-Myth Revisited, small businesses require massive action in the following 7 businesses areas.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2486 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/seven-pillars-of-small-business.png\" alt=\"seven pillar of business\" width=\"200\" height=\"203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/seven-pillars-of-small-business.png 200w, https:\/\/ranashahbaz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/seven-pillars-of-small-business-50x50.png 50w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Because most small business owners wear so many hats, it is not easy to do justice with all these 7 areas, which often leads to business failure.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>How many hats are you wearing in your business?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Step 3 &#8211; Results&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Those who take the massive action and manage to maintain the balance in all 7 areas above, usually get results from their ideas.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">People who are making their ideas to work:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>Cab offices<\/strong> are struggling, <strong>Uber &amp; Lift<\/strong> are growing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>Hotels<\/strong> are finding it hard to fill up their rooms, <strong>Airbnb<\/strong> is killing it.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>Blockbuster<\/strong> became the thing of the past, <strong>Netflix<\/strong> is making a fortune.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>Estate agents<\/strong> in the UK at least are going down, <strong>online estate agents<\/strong> are growing their market share.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The <strong>local high street<\/strong> is dying but <strong>Amazon, Alibaba<\/strong> and <strong>eBay<\/strong> are taking over the world and declaring record profits.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><strong>Telecom companies<\/strong> are under pressure, <strong>WhatsApp<\/strong> is flourishing.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Step 4 &#8211; Beliefs&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Once you get results, you build a belief on your idea and you repeat these four steps with even bigger action, which creates the ripple effect of growth.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Those who failed at step 2, never able to get results and consequently never able to build the belief system around their idea.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I think the same rule applies around other areas of life as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Starting a gym<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&nbsp;&#8211; A great idea to get fit<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Massive action<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&nbsp;&#8211; Most people start to back off from their new year resolution of getting fit around 15th of Jan every year, just in 2 weeks.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Getting fit is a marathon, not a 100-meter sprint.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Results &#8211;&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Because most people fail at taking massive action i.e. pursuing gym regularly over a longer period, they don\u2019t see any fitness results.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Belief &#8211;&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Because they don\u2019t see any results quickly, their belief on the idea never become a reality.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What have you learned in your entrepreneurial journey so far?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Are you taking &#8220;massive action&#8221;
