Second Outing.
More from the Kershaw.
Welcome back to Faffy’s Fotos for my first post of 2026. Here I’m taking another look at my little Kershaw 630 6x6 camera.

It’s definitely growing on me, that little folder from the fifties, proving to be quite capable despite it’s modest specification. The unusual placing of the shutter release took a little getting used to, but ‘swapping hands’ seemed to do the trick. Now, frames shot at 1/75th of a second are far less prone to any noticeable shake. I still have to consciously think about hand placement before picking it up, though, as it’s not instinctive like a more mainstream camera would be. Still, I can certainly live with it. I’ve also solved the ‘fat roll’ issue - a quick tweak of the roll tensioning springs inside the camera seems to have done the trick.

For whatever reason, this roll of Kentmere 400 went in the camera at the end of October and didn’t come back out (and into the soup) until just a week or two ago. I may have mentioned before that the speed of my photographic ‘throughput’ tends to be rather glacial.

Due to this protracted period in the camera I’d forgotten what was on the earlier frames of the roll. It was a pleasant surprise when I finally got to see them.

One thing I still manage to do is the odd accidental double-exposure. I can’t blame the camera for that one, though. That’s entirely on me and my ever-present absent-mindedness, if you see what I mean.
Thanks for joining me here, again. I hope you enjoyed this little selection, the rough with the smooth as it were, from my second roll in the 630. I also hope the coming year is a peaceful one for you. Take care.

I love that double exposure.
