in other news one my young cats got run over a couple of days ago, I'm very sad and bitter about it, I don't know why people can't just fuck off and let me grieve for my beloved Ginny instead of asking whether I'm "feeling ok now" like it takes only 48hrs to get over the death of a pet, clearly animals just aren't as important as people are. Clearly. This had to happen like a week before my birthday too. If I could stab to death every person who's run over a cat of mine, I would. I'd gladly go to jail for that, idgaF.

on a somewhat lighter note, idk why some people in the Breaking Bad tag are disappointed about the Saul Goodman spinoff, it boggles the mind. How can MORE of Saul Goodman/Bob Odenkirk be a BAD THING? Oh but apparently it "cheapens the show" and "Saul's only good in small doses".

Well bitches I will be sitting back enjoying my sleazy lawyer dramedy with awesomesauce Bob Odenkirk and you can just keep fucking whining how AMC never gives its fans anything. DIS GON B GUD.

Awesome ep aside, I feel sorry for Saul (not only because he's my fav character besides Walt and Jesse). I know he deals with criminal crackpots as his job and all but i swear this wasn't the first time he got roughed up by one of the boys XD He seems to be a decent enough person while stll being an absolute crook lol. Every time he offers them a way out it backfires in his face. Yeah, I just feel sorry for him.

so I just finished a weekend residential course in childrens illistration at west dean art college! UGH it was like living at downton abbey/hogwarts, best place EVER. And my course was really good. I wish I had the nerve and the money and qualifications to do a BA in illustration. But that industry is tough as shit so aeeheheheheheh

Now, I am shit at making up story plots so I ended up illustrating this dumb little thing about an alleycat who's best friends with a fish and they like to sing together (hope that made sense). Even if I couldn;t write it for shit I liked drawing it. So hahahaa. I had fun.

Next weekend I'm doing a weekend residential course at an art college in children's illustration. I've never done illus before so it's kinda exciting. c: I want to be prepared though and have some ideas ready to go so I don't spend the entire time flailing around wondering what story I should come up with and draw. Sadly, I have no ideas atm. I'm thinking something fantasyish or supernaturalish or "dark" but not toooo dark lol. Or, something with animals (a la Wind in the Willows or Redwall) because I like drawing animals (drawing ppl sux ok).

why must art be so harddddd

Also I don't what I'm looking forward to more, Windwaker HD or Pokemon XY. The wait is KILLING ME.

I started catching up on The Borgias again, woopwoop. Also some shows I got into recently are Bates Motel and Vikings, which are awesome and people should check those out, ah but tw: rape/attempted rape occurs in the first episode of both shows so watch out for that.

my behbeh kitty Minnie had a urinary infection recently :< and was peeing everywhere (like on my bed. while I was in it). But she's taken meds and seems fine now so WHEW. Speaking of which, my two kittens' main activities seem to be 1. eating 2. pooping. 3. eating some more 3a. overeating and puking 4. more pooping. XD

They're getting spayed next week though. /o/

also my brother moved back in. temporarily. And I'm off therapy for 2 weeks cos of easter. And my parents are leaving next week. BASICALLY ALL SHARP OBJECTS SHOULD BE KEPT OUT OF MY REACH. :<

so last night I was dropping off to sleep and suddenly became aware that every time I breathed out, like, in that pause before I drew another breath, I'd feel this gust of wind(?) on my face, a sensation like something was either blowing my breath back in my face, or someone was breathing on me

like i could feel strands of stray hair on my face being blown back i swear to fuck it was like someone was breathing on me, like there was a small gust being blown back at me every time i breathed. it sure as hell wasn't some kind of draft.

after quietly wtfing for a few minutes, I opened my eyes, saw nothing but weird night vision shapes. I then changed my head position and it stopped.

If you ever had someone leaning over you really close so you could feel their breath, that's what it felt like.

some thoughts on drawing on tablets v. drawing via traditional methods

I just got a bamboo wacom tablet recently (eek!) so I spent a bit yesterday playing around with it (but not as much as I would've liked, since I strained my right arm). Previously I had doodled around on my mom's ASUS tablet, and the difference between that and the wacom is kinda big, I guess.

The ASUS is pretty much like drawing on a regular sketchpad, just on an interactive screen. On the wacom you also draw on the tablet, but it's hooked up to your computer so anything you draw appears in whatever app you're using, which is opened on the computer. This means I draw without actually looking at the surface I'm drawing on, I look at my laptop screen instead. Instead of focussing on pen-tool in my hand, I'm looking at the cursor on the laptop screen. It's a little like drawing blind at first, my hand in front of me drawing but me with my eyes and attention focused in a different direction. It was a bit jarring but I'm getting used to it.

All that said, the wacom is pretty awesome for drawing. You can use pen, ink, pencil, oil paint, water paint or chalk brushes, accordingly, you can also turn on "pen pressure" so pressing down on the tablet makes your marks stronger and darker, as if you were actually using a real pen or whatever. Depending on what drawing app you have you can also use layers and other PS-like tools.

I've only had this tablet for a day or so, so I'm still trying to get the feel of using it. (read: everything I doodle looks like shit). I'd say drawing via tablet has about a 98% accuracy for me - going by how well the tablet follows the drawing movements of my hand. The more tiny and precise my movements are, there it falters a bit. It's hard (for me) to draw fine details on a tablet, sometimes the cursor overreaches. Sometimes it doesn't register the marks I make. In some brushes, which appear as large round circles, I don't know where the "nib" of the cursor is so it's hard to track the line. Of course this may just mean that I need to fiddle with the settings more/I suck. Who knows. I've only experimented for a few hours, hay.

Anyway these flaws are very minor and I enjoy using the tablet quite a bit. o/

For absolute pinpoint accuracy though, I think I will use a pen or pencil. P;

first actual attempt at coloring something! I NEVER color art usually, not even with traditional media. I'm all about dem pencils and black ink. Coloring is scary and for other people who are not me :B
