Okay, people. *sigh* We all know Prop 8 passed. But just like 48% of this country voted for McCain, there was a very large number of people in California who voted against Prop 8. 48%, in fact. And it's being appealed. Please remember that California took a very liberal step forward in declaring the "gays can't marry" law unconstitutional. I continue to be proud of California for doing that in the first place. I'm also proud of my friends and family who voted no on Prop 8 with me.

The passing of Prop 8 broke my heart and I will continue to fight for equal rights for all. This country has many miles to go on its journey to equality. But California is not evil incarnate, just as those red states aren't either. We did try.
