have you missed christopher?
Today was a day where I erected an eight-foot imaginary personal boundary around myself and instructed children to stay on the other side of it. Spring + sunny weather + free-dress day for Picture Day = crazy.
Last trimester I had a student teacher, so I was not as exposed to Christopher as much as I normally am. But now she's gone, and I got Christopher back in full force this week. While there were many comments he made that had me raising my eyebrow and giving him the "that is not appropriate for school" expression, he did say one thing today to redeem himself. On Friday afternoons for about 15 minutes, I let the kiddos play with puzzles and games and stuff before they go home. The boys go especially crazy for the Tinker Toys and the pattern blocks, Christopher most of all, since he loves to build stuff.
Me: Puzzle time, guys. Clean up your desk and you can go sit on the floor with the puzzles.
Christopher: ...... can I read books instead?
Me: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :X:X:X:X:X:X:X
My heart, it was happy.
