There’s a way I’m feeling :
impure and bent and true
as a half clean cherry pit or 
a bird of prey -
as changeable too ,
a thing inside me that surrounds
and bends with the winds
as they blow a course through the bone .

There’s a way I’m feeling :
dark and whole and strange -
dissonant as a bloody angel
or a king-crowned pig ,
with the world lying anesthetized 
across my ever-clenched heart .

There’s a way I’m feeling :
man and woman and man -
thought and chemical all shaken
within the pursuit of truth ,
the dream of a right self -
my skin and mind is pulled 
round with the promise of 
a straight and pure and unstrange answer 

And yet, 
as some freshly winged beast ascending, 
I fly into another blue sky all together: off to find the paradise I have been waiting for.
