At dusk, two women stand close together in front of a softly glowing marquee sign blurred in the background. Warm golden lights create a romantic, cinematic atmosphere.

Accessibility

Access Is Not an Afterthought

QWOCFF is one of the most accessible film festivals in the world. Every screening includes open captions and audio description. That's not extra for us — that's essential.

Blind & Low Vision Access

All films audio described, headphones available, braille maps, screen-reader compatible materials.

Deaf & Hard-of-Hearing

All films open captioned, ASL interpretation plus seating for ASL.

Childcare

Free on-site childcare during afternoon screenings; sign-up in advance.

Wheelchair & Mobility Access

Step-free entry, accessible seating, barrier-free navigation.

Respiratory Safety

KN95+ masking required, HEPA filters, fragrance-free, COVID-conscious protocols.

Crisis Counselors On-Site

Trained counselors available throughout the festival.

Note: Accessibility looks different across the three ways to experience QWOCFF. The in-person festival at the Presidio offers our full suite of accommodations. Our Online Encore includes open captions and audio description. Satellite screenings happen at ADA-accessible venues with open captions; other accommodations vary by venue and partner.
Festival Manager Spotlight

Why These Stories Matter

"When you walk into QWOCFF, you experience a room full of people who want you there. The films will move you, and the community around the screenings is the reason people come back. This year's theme — We Resist, and We Roll — acknowledges our continued work for a more just world and our emancipatory joy along the way. We look forward to welcoming you this June."

Program Highlights

This Year's Program

Each screening is curated with intention, centering stories, communities, and conversations that shape this year's festival.

Queer Black Joy Like Fire

This is QWOCMAP’s annual screening to celebrate Pride & Juneteenth, and always, it focuses on liberation. Especially at a time when queer & trans Black folx remind terror and empire on the daily that by the light of our fire we can clearly see what they are, and we are NOT impressed. When we need joy to keep our memories burning, to make sure we are fueled, to keep us warm, and ready ourselves for what we will see in flames.
