The National Quilt Museum Collection
The collection of the National Quilt Museum includes extraordinary quilted artwork representing today’s quilters from the United States and around the world. Quilts in our collection are all made after 1980, and represent the best of contemporary quilting in a wide range of styles, techniques, inspiration, and unique artistic voices.

LATIFAH SAAFIR: IT WAS ALL A DREAM
Latifah Saafir is known for her bold and innovative modern quilts. Combining her training as an engineer with her lifelong passion for sewing, Latifah creates designs that are graphic and contemporary, featuring challenging techniques with meticulous attention to detail.

CHARLES CAMERON: A CURIOUS MODERN QUILTER
Charles Cameron, a North Carolina-based Modern Quilter, is an Engineer by training and vocation while tending toward creative endeavors to maintain balance. Charles’ work explores the use of bright colors, color value, and a mixture of precision and whimsey to reinvent more traditional quilt patterns and designs.

NEW QUILTS FROM AN OLD FAVORITE: FOOD
This international contest and exhibition organized by the National Quilt Museum challenges quiltmakers to create an innovative quilt based on a theme and specific traditional pattern. Finalists of the contest usually include quilts from many different U.S. states and several other countries.
