For this challenge, you will be creating a mini fanmix (only 4 songs) inspired by a certain character, a show, a pairing... whatever topic you want to use. He never let her go emotionally, but he did let her go to save her life. Very heroic, seeing they all assumed he had died.

Because they're all trying so hard to solve all the problems. Mitch is the smartest guy in the room, but she's the most saavy. There are parallels between what they're trying to do and their relationship in the lyrics of this song.

Jamie survived the plane crash and managed to hang onto a piece of wreckage till she was rescued. "Clear blue water, High tide came and brought you in."
"Currents swept you out again" It took her some time to recover from the ordeal and she a Mitch were "estranged".

Mitch is not the easiest guy to get along with. He's emotionally constipated. He is a sour cherry!

Challenge:
Create a written entry of at least 250 words with a general prompt of MEDICAL DOCTORS. Maybe your favorite character needs to see a doctor but doesn't want to; maybe your favorite character is the doctor, overrun with patients. Perhaps, even, your setting is simply a hospital and nothing is happening of interest. However you want to interpret the prompt, so long as it's obvious.

Here is a little doctor drabble, TURN style (423 words):

She was shocked to see the Major’s men supporting him, no - carrying him up the stairs. Anna hurried after Mary as she headed for the kitchen.

“Mary! What happened to him?” she whispered to her urgently. When the major had come to the tavern to bring her back to Whitehall, he had seemed pale and obviously battered, but it wasn’t until they were entering the Woodhull’s home that she realized how weak he was. He had bid her a good evening and excused himself, apologizing for being unable to visit with her until the morning.

As Mary began preparing a tray of food for the Major, Anna reached out for her arm and repeated her question. Mary finished ladling soup into a large bowl and turned to Anna. All the stiffness that she felt by Anna’s return to the house dissolved and a look of distress crossed her face. She shook her head.

“When they brought him in, you would not have recognized him. He was covered in blood, he reeked as though he’d been living in a rotting corpse, he’d lost his wig. And.”, her voice dropped to a whisper, “He was wearing a rebel uniform. He screamed as they removed his boot.” Mary rubbed her brow with her fingers. “Anna. He’d cut his toes off to prevent the gangrene from poisoning his body. I sent for the doctor right away. His men bathed him.”

The colour had drained out of Anna’s face as she listened to Mary. “What did the doctor do? Is the Major all right? Will he be all right?”

“The doctor was not here long, so his injuries can’t be too serious. He placed a poultice on his wounded foot and then left. He’ll attend to him again tomorrow.
The Major slept all day. I sat with him till he awoke. The only reason he got out of bed was to come to you.”

Anna took in all Mary’s information saying nothing. Mary turned to pick up the tray, but Anna moved in more quickly, picking up the tray with purpose. “I’ll deliver this.” She said quietly. “And I will sit with him tonight.”

Anna moved down the hall, up the stairs and looked determinedly at Corporal Easton standing guard at the Major’s door. Easton nodded and held the bedroom door allowing Anna to enter. The room was warm and light from the fireplace danced across the bed, flickering across the Major’s sleeping profile.

Anna carefully kicked the door shut behind her, ignoring the corporal’s surprised expression.

Anna Strong (Turn: Washington's Spies) writes to Dear Abby

Dear Abby
I am in desperate need of your help. Perhaps just writing to you will help me resolve my problem. I hold the life of the man I love in my hands. It is so complicated and impossible. I am caught between my childhood friend whom I have always loved, and this wonderful man who treats me better than I have ever been treated. When he tells me how much he loves me, I can’t help but weep. We will be married soon and I hate that I am living a lie with him. I am a spy for the Continental Army and he is a Major in the King’s army. I had convinced him that we should run away to England, but for some reason he has chosen to become stubborn and says we will be married here. My old friend will kill my love if we stay. What can I do? I am at my wit’s end.

Dear Anna
My dear, I think there is only one thing you can do. You must tell your Major who you are. Living a lie will eat away at you. Telling him that your old friend plans to murder him, will just get your friend killed. (I’m assuming that your Major would see to that.) Convince your old friend that killing the Major is a huge mistake and he will hang for it if he’s found out. From reading your other letters I’ve determined that your friend is not a very good spy. He needs guidance. Brokering a truce between the men might be easier than you think.
By the way, aren’t you still married? And isn’t this old friend the one you mentioned passionate encounters with? How does your Major feel about this? Ask yourself these questions and answer honestly whether you’re really doing the best thing by marrying him. What would happen if you reject him? Perhaps he would leave and his life would be saved. You sound like a woman carrying many great weights. You need to lift them.

Sticking with the headcanon-theme, this challenge is simply a chance for you to share your thoughts on your fandoms of choice. Below are a list of items ~~which I blatantly stole from a meme I posted to my own LJ last week~~ for you to answer about any character you choose. You do not have to adhere to canon for these answers, as they are 100% your feelings. (if you want to share with us your belief that Harry Potter and the Wicked Witch of the West are, in fact, the true heirs of Han Solo, you can go for it! ~~only, not that, since they aren't approved TVU-fandoms...~~) There are no wrong answers, but we do ask that you at least give us two sentence-answers.

1) Edmund Hewlett (TURN)
01: OTP and why?
With Anna Strong. I love how he chokes with awkwardness whenever he talks to her on a personal level. I love him getting over the awkward phase. I love that she can’t help herself but care about him. I love that she is so confused about caring about the enemy.

02: brOTP and why?
This is tough. Hewlett is the loneliest guy in town. He would assume his friend would be Richard Woodhull, but I don’t think it will last even though they have the same political leanings.

03: NOTP and why?
This would be Hewlett and Simcoe. I have a whole fanvid about that! I don’t get what Simcoe’s problem is. He’s power hungry and ruthless and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.

04: First moment you knew you liked this character and why?
When he stuttered over inviting her to a dinner party and suddenly realized that she might think he was hitting on her. He is a perfect gentleman. Really.

05: Favorite line from this character and why?
“I thought that I might make a proposal. I don’t mean, of course, in the formal sense of the word.” If the scene was brighter, Hewlett would have turned bright red. He laughed in embarrassment. She just watched him dig himself in deeper as he tried to offer her friendship.

06: Favorite scene for this character and why?
When he is reunited with Anna after his month-long capture. There is no Open Display of Affection from him, but he closes his eyes when she kisses his cheek.

07: One way in which you relate to this character and why?
He’s an outsider. I can relate to that.

08: Something this character does/has done that embarrasses you and why?
He’s been a snooty Englishman, forcing people into an impossible situation. He manipulated them. Then he got to know him and it all changed.

09: Teddy Bear or Troublemaker and why?
Teddddyyyyy!!!! Goes from stiff and formal to awkward and bashful when she’s around.

10: One thing you would like to see happen to this character?
He marries Anna Strong. They have to decide together if they’re on the side of the Patriots or the English.

2) Walt Longmire (Longmire)
01: OTP and why?
Walt Longmire and Vic Moretti. They are total opposites. He’s never quite sure what to expect from her and I think she entertains him. She has certainly distracted him from the loss of his wife.

02: brOTP and why?
Henry Standing Bear is his brOTP and has been for many years. They both respect each other immensely. They are like family.

03: NOTP and why?
Jacob Nighthorse and Walt are like oil and water. He is convinced Jacob has his wife killed. Jacob never misses an opportunity to push Walt’s buttons.

04: First moment you knew you liked this character and why?
Almost right away. His measured quiet ways keep you wondering what he’s thinking. He doesn’t talk much, which can be a serious problem for those he works with.

05: Favorite line from this character and why?
“I can’t believe I hit you”. He’s appalled that he hits Vic by mistake and gives her a serious nosebleed.

06: Favorite scene for this character and why?
My favourite scene with Walt is when Jacob pushes just the right button and Walt spins around to punch him and hit Vic instead, leaving her with a bloody nose.

07: One way in which you relate to this character and why?
The only way I can relate to him is by admiring how he thinks things out (usually) before he acts. He never says much.

08: Something this character does/has done that embarrasses you and why?
He spits a lot. (Well, a lot for the tv that I watch where they never spit!) Which is pretty realistic for a cowboy, I guess, but he better not do it in my presence!

09: Teddy Bear or Troublemaker and why?
Probably a Teddy Bear if he’d just let himself go. He’s certainly a troublemaker for those outside the law.

10: One thing you would like to see happen to this character?
As mentioned in the last question, I’d like to see him relax and enjoy the little things in life. He lives on a gorgeous ranch with horses, yet he seldom goes riding. He needs to let the death of his wife go and move on. Preferably with Vic (which is canon in the books, but not the show!)

3) Ellie Miller (Broadchurch)
01: OTP and why?
Alec Hardy is the OTP. The complement one another as they respect one another and they can empathize and support one another.

02: brOTP and why?
Well, that would probably be Alec Hardie again. She has been ostracized since her husband killed a boy and he’s the only one around to be a “friend”.

03: NOTP and why?
Ellies ex-husband is the NOTP. She was done with him the minute Alec convinced her that he had murdered Danny.

04: First moment you knew you liked this character and why?
I knew I liked her the first time she reamed out Hardy. She never took any crap from him right from the start. And he sure dished out the crap.

05: Favorite line from this character and why?
“Shut up” to Alec Hardy (her boss). I told you she didn’t take crap from him!

06: Favorite scene for this character and why?
I think my favourite scene is near the very end of the case when she sits with him and tells him that he did it. He solved it. The albatross that was hanging around his neck and had almost killed him was gone.

07: One way in which you relate to this character and why?
Oh, I could say I admire her more than relate to her. She’s bright, smart and determined.

08: Something this character does/has done that embarrasses you and why?
She gushed over her husband before she knew he as a pedophile. That was nauseating.

09: Teddy Bear or Troublemaker and why?
Teddy Bear because she’s so soft hearted. Alec Hardy would say she’s a Troublemaker because her cheerfulness drove him crazy. Now her sadness drives him crazy.

10: One thing you would like to see happen to this character?
I would like for her to return to her cheery, sassy self. And to roll in the hay with Hardy. On a permanent basis.

TVU Challenge 1004 - One Song

Challenge:
Everyone has that one song* that, no matter what you're doing, you stop and listen. Whatever your mood is, it doesn't matter. That song comes on, and you listen to it from start to finish. Every single time. It may not be your favorite song, but it most definitely has a pull on you.

Maybe one of your characters hears the song on the radio - how do they react? Perhaps it's just a reminder of a scene that song is played over. Maybe, it's just the first thing you think of when you hear it. However it speaks to you, for this challenge, that song is your inspiration.

I wanted to do a fanvid for this, but I just don't have enough time before the deadline. I've started and I will do it, but later!
Every time I hear Pink's Just Give Me a Reason I think of what a mess they've turned this relationship into in Season 4. But I'm encouraged that they must have negotiated a S5 with Netflix right off the bat, because they announced S5 so soon. So there is still hope. S4 was pretty depressing....
So here is an overview of the Walt/Vic (Longmire/Moretti) relationship.... Not so good at the moment.... In fact, disaster comes to mind.

With the new seasons of returning shows starting up, it's time to get to know some new cast members. Your task for this two-part challenge is to create a new character for a TV show that has already aired, with the exception of new shows that are just premiering (or mid-season fillers to come). Give us a short biography and headshot, and then either a picspam or written scene of them in action. You may use any show currently airing or even long-since ended, but please be mindful of last-season spoilers.

Paget Brewster will star as Edmund Hewlett's sister. This was really hard when Paget Brewster has never done much in period costume!

Major Hewlett's sister has come for an extended visit.... Maybe even a permanent one....

Emily Hewlett is sister to Edmund Hewlett and has come from England to visit her brother in spite of his strong disagreement. She is strong-minded, beautiful and open to adventure. She enjoys every opportunity to imitate her brother when he’s a pompous British ass. Always in private, of course. Anna Strong is shocked when Emily manages to make Edmund giggle helplessly. Emily is almost the opposite of her brother who would never have travelled to the new world had it not been for his military appointment. She will become an intermediary between Hewlett and Anna, at first as a relationship counsellor, but later as something much more important. She unravels Anna’s secret and is torn between Anna’s friendship and loyalty to her brother.
