There are many media players in the Internet, both pay-based and free, and QQPlayer is only one of the latter.
The program's interface is attractive and sober and features a cool animation. It lets you open a file directly from the button of the interface, and this is where the problems begin. You can choose to open a file from your system, or to do it from an URL. In the second option, I tried to open both a YouTube and a Vimeo video file, and it didn't work in either case. Another drawback is that not all the dialog boxes and commands are translated into English; some of them were in Chinese, so I couldn't read them. Although I could open files from my system without any problem, I think that this function must be fixed.
On the bright side, the program has options to capture stills and thumbnails, and to create GIF files from videos. Also, you can change the format of a multimedia file. For example, you can convert video files to and from MP4, WMV, AVI, FLV, and MPG. Regarding audio files, it is possible to reformat only to and from MP3 and WMA. Another cool feature is the program's Mini-mode that, as its name implies, shows a smaller window with only basic functions.
The program also offers functions to cut and/or join audio and video files. Thus, it could be a very comprehensive media player if it wasn't for these drawbacks. Let's see if these bugs are fixed in upcoming versions.
