#1 - the text is placed so that it looks as if it in itself is the focus, instead of Eric.
#1---There's more to life than words on an icon that I can't read.
#1: There seems to have been little done to the picture and the text obscures part of Eric's face.
#1. The choice in coloring is perfect and Eric's face... *faints*

2. The image is unclear and blurry.
2 - The picture isn't very clear and the red box seems out of place.

#3. Lovely animation but a bit too dark.
#3 the text is a great quote and it matches the picture well. nice work!
3: Text well done and extremely amusing.

4: The greenness in the small picture just looks weird, somehow.
4 - I don't like the colouring at all.

#4---Eric's grin is just too cute! I wanna smooch him!

5: The dark text over dark background is impossible to read.
#5 - the cloring and textures with the text look very distracting.
5. The words are hard to read and the light texture takes out the clearness of the image.
5 - Speckle effect isn't of the greatest quality. Can't read the text.
#5: The texture is a bit distracting and the text is quite hard to read.

6: The white space at the side detracts from the picture.
#6 the colouring doesn't suit the picture and the icon is a bit boring
6 - The solid white line on the right brings the icon down. The red blob
distracts from the pic rather than of make it more interesting.

#6: I like the cropping and the icon, on the whole, is nice and simple.

#7 the colouring is too bright, it makes the icon too busy

7. Good text placement and use of images.
#7 - the coloring is clear and the brush doesn't distract from the image.
7. The colors are very warm. It's just enough for the picture.
7 - The calm colours and the balance between Eric and the blurred background are really nice.
7! - This icon is perfect. Love the colouring and the sharpness of the photo. Great effects as well.

SIGN UPS, round #03

Sign ups for round three! Since the first and second round only had 3 challenges I hope that this round will get some more. We will accept 10 people to compete. If you are interested being in the contest comment in this post. A simple "I'm in" -comment will do but you can tell me some challenge suggestions (for exapmle a quote or theme), I'm always open for those.
This LIMS will last max. 9 weeks. It could be less if someone leaves the contest or we won't have 10 contestants. You are not allowed to skip weeks, you must participate on every challenge (if you are not eliminated). Or else you will be eliminated.
Every challenge will have four steps; challenge/submission, reminder, voting and results.
On the first step you will get the challenge. The challenge can be a picture or some theme. The first step is also the post you submit your icon too. The icon submission comment have to include your icon and its link.
On the second step there will be a reminder for all of those who have not submitted their icon yet.
On the third step is your time to vote your favorite and least favorite ones. Always, and I mean always, tell me why do you think that icon is the best or the worst. If you don't tell me, your vote is not valid.
On the fourth step you'll know the results. The winner and loser will be announced and all the commentary for every icon, too.

This community has an open membership but no-one (except me) has a posting access.

THE FIRST ROUND WILL START ON DECEMBER 1st or when 10 people are in! Be ready.

2 - it was a hard choice, because both have really nice colouring and cropping, but but I liked the way the text was used in this icon more, and I'd probably be more likely to use it as an icon.
#2- Nice, vivid coloring with easy to read lettering. Very eye-catching.
2 Great colours. I freaking love how that splash of blood underlines part of the text.

1 - The image seems oddly skewed, and low quality. Just looks kind of weird.

1 - Really nice colouring.
1 - I like the colouring. The icon is simple, but eyecatching, and the cropping is nice.
1. Nice colouration
#1: I like the coloration. It's simple and clean cut.

2 - Touch too oversaturated
2 - The white is kinda of blinding and nothing really stands out about it.
2. Too much contrast/brightness (at least on the white part of the icon)
#2: The whites have kindof a choppy egde to them and they're too bright for the image.

3 - The test is hard to read and the whole icon looks a bit crowded.
3. The colours are a bit too vivid.
#3: The text is a bit hard to read and the picture runs together.
Favorite: 3 - Even though the coloring is kind of hard on the eyes and the text is kind of grainy, I like the text placement and the picture :)

I'm sorry, toaster_phantom,

but you're out of the game. Kind of a surprise 'cause she won every challenge in round 1.

likescarecrows,

you won this challenge (again :).

1 - I like it, but the image looks over sharpened and then oversmoothed over the skin, and the text is a bit blurry.

#1 Simple without being boring. Great expression in the chosen cap and for some reason I really like the glowing green font.

#2- the text and the movement is really smooth. The transition just looks nice.

03 - The text is really hard to read on the slant, and it all looks rather flat.
#3 Font type a bit hard to read (I had to hum the song to remember the lyrics because I couldn't make out "bra").
#3- You can't see the text all that well.

04 - The text doesn't really pop and the icon as a whole doesn't stand out.
#4 It seems a bit too busy, mostly because there's just a bit too much orange in it. Obviously #5 is more busy, I know, but 4 seems to be going for simplicity where 5's busyness seems fitting and intended.

#4 because the texture is very suited for the text and altogether is a nice-looking icon.

5 - The text is a bit blurry, and the quote doesn't really appeal to me.
#5: There maybe could have been a bit more to it, although it is a good icon.

#6 - the picture quality is a bit off, so it draws the eye in a negative way.
#6- The picture could've used some color layers or something to polish it up a bit.

6 - The picture is a bit grainy, but I love the quote, and overall the icon is very nice.
