Python SCons - a software construction tool

SCons is an open source construction tool implemented in Python. The program requires the previous installation of Python version 2.4 or later.

It has a built-in support for C, C++ , D, Java, Fortran, Yacc, Lex, Qt and SWIG, building TeX and LaTeX documents.
