Puzzle 19: The Great Pyramids [Audio/Video; English + Text]

Uhm! In case anybody's been looking for me or the Professor, we've moved in with Mr. Winterstorm now! I sure am glad too! Latimir's an awful mess from what I've seen.... Amazing it's still stable, don't you think?

Oh, speaking of stability! Did you know that a triangle is the most stable shape? I think my papa told me that once, but the professor explained it earlier too. Weird huh? We always make our buildings out of squares instead. I bet that's why the pyramids in Egypt have lasted so long! Haha!

[LONG... THOUGHTFUL... PAUSE.]

Oh, hey! That just reminded me of a puzzle! Uhm [he dashes off, a few minutes later the video feed turns on to show THIS picture of the large triangle and little triangle.] I think... yea!

Alright, here I drew two triangle! One large and one small!

If you dip a fountain pen into the ink once, you'll have enough ink to draw the four triangles like in the little square!!

So, with that in mind, how many times do you have to dip your pen in the ink in order to
draw the big triangle! There's thirty six triangles in the big one, [He holds the feed still, and with his hand writes beside each triangle how many little triangles make it up. The puzzles is transcribed later in Text]

Ah! So it took a little while to find a place to hide it, but we finally found the perfect spot to put it until the ground thaws! And don't even try asking me of Ms. Lucrecia where it's hid, since it's a secret.

Puzzle 17: Time Capsule [Audio]

Ahh, you know, yesterday me and Mr. Dornez were talking about how Discedo kinda looks a lot like London with all the pretty snow around! It kinda does if you think about it--I kinda miss it... Papa too... and mama...

Oh, but! Later I realized something kind of fun we did back home once during this time of the year!! Well, a little earlier than this but... That doesn't really matter all that much!!

We should make a time capsule! Ah... I should probably explain... If you don't know what a time capsule is, it's basically a wooden box that you put things in! After that, you bury it in the ground, and then ten years later dig it up again so you can look back on the past!

I-I know ten years sounds like a really long time, especially because people come and go a lot, but maybe we could do it sooner! I think six months would be alright! We could even attach little name tags to our stuff, too. That way if our friend come here and we aren't here to help them, they can have our stuff instead!

Uhm, what do you all think?

[Tumph--the communicator turns on as Luke drops his bag on the floor, and begins struggingly with his winter gear. ] Professor, I'm sorry I was gone so long. I thought I heard one of the monsters following me on my way to the high school and... [a bell rings] ah, Maio!

Mew....

[a pause.] Wh-what's wrong? Mew Huh? Come 'ere. [Luke picks up his bag and his cat. A few moments later a door creeks open.]

Professor? [He walks into the room, then stands by Layton's bed and gives him a gentle shake.] 'E-'ey professor, it's past breakfast. [A long, sort of dreadful pause. A bell rings again] P-professor, it's time to get up... [another shake] Mew Wh--[There's a pause--he's checking Layton's breath.... then his pulse....]

N-no... P-professor! ah.. [His teeth start chattering] Professor you... can't.... you... [Sniffle] H-how... who's going to t--t-teach m-me to... [He can't finish his sentence. Slowsly he young apprentice slips into sobs.]

Mr. Lexaeus? How is your pet pig? I'm sorry for startling him the other day, but I'm glad he's back where he belongs now! If you ever need a pet-sitter for him, I'd be more than happy!

Uhm, oh right! I-I know I'm a day late, but I'll be bringing Christmas presents to everybody really soon. The professor got a little worse yesterday so I had to take care of him. Don't worry, everybody, he's feeling better now!

[There's a sudden thud, followed by a massive amount of squeeling and what sounds like ping wrestling--which btw, it is. After a moment, there's a very angry sounding pig.]

Oink oink! Cnnk cnnk. Cnnnk cnkk, oink oink, squeeee Ah? Cnnk? Oink. Oh... well hold on... I'll fix it for you!

((ooc; Lexaeus-mun, Zexion-mun, if you tell Luke not to touch the communicator on the pig, he'll leave it alone. Black is Luke, pink is the pig... and the 'Cnnk' is a snort, (Try pronouncing it, it sounds just like a snort! :3) Oh, anybody in Latimir is welcome to assume they heard Luke chashing after the pig.))

[The communicator flicks on to a very friendly face. NO not Luke's face, but Claire's! Her pink nose is visible in the center of the screen, a green eyes looking curiously at the communicator.

She licks the screen.] Miao! [Hello!]

Professor! Hurry, we don't want to be late!

Now, now, let me find my jacket first. Why don't you go practice your scales first?

Oh, right! Good idea! Miao!! [Claire is lifted suddenly, along with the communicator, thrown into Luke's bag. It's still video, but it doesn't matter since you can't see anything anyway.

A short moment later, one can hear a violin being practiced going up and down the scales. There's a quiet miaoing in attempt to sing along.]

Puzzle 10: The Pendant [video]

[the feed accidentally clicks on as Luke rummages through his satchel, and is set aside so he can dig through the bag better. No idea what's in there, which is why we're investigating. By the looks of it he's out in the hall, sitting (waiting for somebody).]

Kweeeeh!

[Luke stands up suddenly and with great excitement] Chocobo! Kweeee-wheeh.

[The two of them begin talking in Chocobo, and shortly afterwards, Chocobo reveals a sparkling puzzle pendent. Luke fills with excitement for Chocobo.

But it's breif lived. Suddenly the pendant begins to glow and both look at it strangly.] Kweeh...? What?

[Suddenly a dark vortex appears behind Chocobo, and Luke gives a horrified gasp. It quickly engulfs the poor yellow bird, leaving behind a single yellow feather. Luke is horrified at first, but suddenly grabs his head with a yelp!]

Ahhh... what just--owww..... Chocobo?!

((ooc; BACKDATED to whenever this happened. THERE IS A BIRD INSIDE LUKES HAID, DEEESSSPPPAAIIIRRR.

EDIT; I oughta explain this, because somebody asked. Chocobo's pendant allows him to (literally) go inside of peoples heads to collect memories that may have been forgotten or pushed aside for some reason. Ironically: Chocobo's canon is ALSO a puzzle game 8|))

Everybody, everybody!! If you haven't heard yet: The professor's back!! [VERY HAPPY] Many thanks for taking care of me, too, Mr. Winterstorm! I'll make sure to come visit every so often! It was fun playing with you, too, Elysia!

So! You know how Halloween is coming up?! We should try to get together and have a big celebration! There's an auditorium at the High school, right? We can hold it there, I bet there'll be plenty of room!!

We should make a little haunted house, too, that'd be fun! Just for fun spooks, not like the spooks outside. 'Course, costumes might be hard but... That shouldn't matter much! We can all dress like ghosts or somethin'!! Ah-ha, then again, nobody would recognize each other under the sheets, huh? That's alright! We'll make a game out of it!

We should get food for the party, if we can! And music, and dancing, and a hole bunch of party games! And punch! Oh--

Oi! Sneaky Group?! If you get this: I think you've done enough tricks for one year, how about a treat on Halloween, huh? Lots of candy would be great!

Puzzle 08: Where's Waldo? [Video]

[Forward dated a few hours]

[the feed clicks on, but is covered partially by Luke's fingers. Looking at the young lad, his eyes are drooped slightly and he's slouching a little. Next to him is a little pile of belongings, including a beautiful little violin. His eyes shut with a flicker, and he leans towards his things, pushing them a little, and knocking something on the ground (namely, a pair of shoes.

A knock like thud is created, and Luke wakes with a sudden start, his hat falling off his head.] Professor!!

[He stands abruptly, and disappears from view. A door flies open with a sudden creek and one can hear Luke exclaimed happily!

And then silence, followed by a longer creek and a quiet whisper: 'Professor?'

After a minute, Luke appears again on the screen. It switches to...]

[AUDIO//Fail!Locked to Layton]

Professor? Where are you--it's been a few hours, now... [...] Why's your frequency so quiet?

Uwa!! Professor!! Are you hurt?! Professor! Professor!!

How is everybody? Miss Umi? Mr. Germany? Ms. Ukrain? I-I haven't heard from Mr. Jounoichi in a while... Oh, and uhm... to... that one cute yellow bird: how have you been? Sorry, I guess I never picked up your name...

Oh! And Mr. Chopper? Uh, I haven't noticed anybody getting sick; do you think it's safe to get that chip removal now?

You know, earlier today the most peculiar thing happened... and well, it reminded me of a puzzle I once heard! I'll type this one out too, so everybody can answer it!

You and a friend are planning to meet down at the part at noon, but there's a problem, both your watches are incorrect. You think your watch is 5 minutes fast, when it's really 5 minutes slow; and your friend thinks his watch is 5 minutes slow, but it's really 5 minutes fast! Either way, both of you use only your own watches to determine time.

With this in mind, who arrives late--you or your friend--and how long was the other waiting?

Tohma: Luke likes and respects Tohma a LOT. He's kinda like a younger version of Layton in his eyes, so if somebody were to diss Onii-sama, Luke would be all over that to defend him. Again, like layton, he wants Tohma to be proud of him, particularly in his music since Tohma arranged the whole orchestra thing. He also like... Was really greatful for Tohma's answer ti the whole gay thing. A lot of the questions he didn't feel comfortable asking Layton went to him, so Luke was glad for it.

Kyon: ... Don't laugh, but luke feels bad for Kyon |D" after that whole bd luck conversation luke was like "ah... Maybe I can help turn his misfortune around!" a lot of the relationship developed out of Luke's desire to be a gentleman, but that doesn't mean he hasn't accepted Kyon into his friend circlw .

Umi: Luke like... basically loves Umi. He was very glad to have her come to his aid when the professor had died, so there will always be that "this is somebody I can trust" kind of thing in his head. Umi's cool too, and totally sweet, so it'a like a kid to sweets, you know? yaaaay words

Phoenix: K so part of the reason Luke REALLY likes Phoenix is because Phoenix reminds Luke of his Papa. Phoenix seriously wears the exact same outfit even 8/. He's always been kind to Luke, and always seems happy to see him, so why not? Phoenix's energy is a child magnet too xD

Chopper: That said--Luke really really likes Chopper. The little reindeer has that kind of energy that makes luke all like "veeeeee" yet at the same time not because luke isn't italian. Chopper seems very smart, and Luke respects the reindeer because of the whole being a doctor. He was also heartbroken when chopper was all like "DESPAIIIIR" |D"

Chocobo:Chocobo is like... Luke's bff hands down. He likes talking to chocobo and loves going out to see how he is, and thinks he's totally the most adorable bird ever. And Luke has a wild fish tale about Chocobo fighting the Nurses xD it's cute

Lexaeus: Luke liked luxaeus. Sure he was kind of gruff, but he wasn't mean, which is awesome by Luke's standards. Even though it's not the TRUTH of the story, Luke thought it wad cool that lexaeus and zexion had a pet pig. He... Obviously never realized the pig was an experiment but THAT'S OKAY?! Oh, and luke wanted to make friends with luxaeus because he was like "I have no friends /BAD ASS POSE" So yea.... That's what gentlemen do, yknow? |D

Korea: Korea is like... One of those characters that make luke go "durp, wut?" and at the same time go "EEEEEE". Idk something about Korea just appeals to the little puzzleshota--probably his energy? And high spirits!

Cirno: Luke likes cirno, but at the same time he's like "why can't you act more like a girl?!" of course he won't say this upfront unless provoked. She seems nice, but at the same time he totally does not approve of gentlemen being called dorks. Even if Cirno can be like that, he does consider her a friend and during the last conversation sort of related with her on the having a teacher. Basically, its a love/hate thing--maybe even a brother sister bond

Minato: I actually think luke and minato have only spoke once or twice, so acquaintance for him (although, idek if luke knows his name 8|") BUT THAT's OKAY BECAUSE HE KINDA ALREADY THINKS MINATO IS A DURP. Basically.... He tried so hard not to go like ".... Wut" in the conversation about boys kissing because he was like.... Idefk minato seriously left a lasting impression xD (in a good way?)

Amu: Amu goes under friends, obviously, for Luke Luke likes Amu; he thinks she's cute ;3;. He likes having her as a friend, particularly because she's his own age and has always been nice to him. He reaalllyyy wishes he knew japanese well enough to have a real conversation with her instead of talking over text with her all the time ;-; and we should totally do something for valentines between them >>

Puzzle 06: Animal Carcassses [text]

All these poor animals... I mean, sure, they're monsters, but doesn't it seem a but unfair!? After all, they have feelings, too! And all the terrible things that's been done to them!! How could anybody do this?! It's not even humane!!

Well, I'm getting to the bottom of this! Whoever or whatever is doing this should be stopped! But before I can begin, I've a small request to make:

Could I get a chip removal? If it's out, I'm sure I can figure out what's going on!

Seems a bit silly, but can anybody tell me more about Discedo? Like why are all the street signs in English if this is another world? What happened to this place? Where did all these monsters come from? Who are these "scientists" I keep hearing about? What's this "chip" exactly? The professor said it blocked our "powers". What kind of powers are there? And is everybody here from earth, by chance?

And, uh, how is everybody feeling? I heard something about chip infections. are... are people still getting infected? People are getting sick, too? I hope everybody's doing all right.

[and here's when the strapping young lad forgets to turn his communicator off when addressing the professor.] Professor, do you suppose some animals can't be understood?

Puzzle 03: Killer Cookies [video]

[The feed stars off falling from a table and landing just so that one can see Luke dashing from said table to a window near by. He lurches, body stuck half out the window. Collapsing there, Luke hangs on the sill for a good five minutes, motionlessly. Finally, he gets up, looking sick as dog, and picks up the communicator--it switches to text.]

All this talk of birthdays last week gave me an idea for a puzzle! Well, more a riddle, but that doesn't matter much! Tell me what you think.

My friend and I were born one day apart in the same year. This year he's celebrating his 20th birthday, but I am not. What birthday will I celebrate?

[The communicator is face down in the snow, and is picked up a few moments later and cleaned off. The communicator is turned so there's a clear view of his face--bright read nose, hat and scarf covered in snow. His cheeks are more red than usual, and gives a small sniffle. Now that he knows the communicator is working. he puts it back down in the snow, and runs backwards.

Beside him is a... basically cyllinder of snow with two sticks sticking out the side and a weird "brim" about seven inches down from the top. It's only about tall enough for Luke to reach the top. He displays it with a bright smile.]

What do you think, everybody? Looks just like him, right? Haha~!

((ooc; FORWARD-DATED TO THIS MORNING!!! I should probably note, this is in (mild) response to THIS thread. Luke tried to make Layton out of snow like Usopp did, but... his artistic talents are lacking in this area.))

[Video turns on, and the curious Luke can be seen staring at the communicator with a frown.]
