This post reminded me of "Coma", a 1978 movie starring Michael Douglas and Rip Torn. I'm not at all surprised if this is happening in hospitals all over the world. People with a medical degree love playing God.

Q: What is the difference between God and a doctor.

A: God doesn't walk around thinking he's a doctor.

I so loved it. Thank you! I am a nurse. I see it. I do reviews of transplant cases. It definitely makes sense they want to make money. Also I have seen it with my own dad. He died. 2 hours later the donor company calls me and the lady had the sweetest voice in the world. Telling me her condolences and that my dad is a donor on his driver license and he is a candidate for his corneas. I said no. And she turned into Dr Jeckyll. Very angry. Asked me why. I said, the answer is no. And she let it go and hung up. I went with my instincts from what I had felt as a nurse is why I didn't want to. And she confirmed to me by her reaction that I was right.
