The only time Laura's ever slept longer than ten hours is when she was sick. She's not sick now, but zombie attacks and rebuilding things have left her run down and exhausted. By the time Joslire pours her into bed she's asleep. She doesn't even realize it when he arranges for Laila to spend the night and the next day with Erica and John.

She doesn't move until about noon the next day, and when she blinks her eyes she rolls over onto her back, staring up at the ceiling for a moment, drifting every now and then for another half hour before pushing herself up and out of bed. Washing her face and brushing her hair out, she goes to the front of the apartment to find Joslire.

Laura's been working, maybe too hard, and she's realizing that the open house at the bakery kept her from seeing Joslire as much as she should have. She has a mind to make up for that now. During some down time, she bought a dark red teddy and currently has it paired with heels, hair tousled and falling down her back. Laila is at Margaret's for a few hours, and now she's waiting for him, ready to surprise him as she sits right in his chair that faces the door.

Laura had made her way out of bed early so that she could get a few things together to surprise Joslire with breakfast in bed. Making eggs, bacon, fresh biscuits, and squeezing fresh orange juice, she added a bowl of fruit to the tray and very quietly put it on the bedside table. Then, she made her way to the nursery to get an awake Laila. Once she was freshly diapered, they made their way together to the bedroom.

"Go get daddy," Laura whispered as she put Laila down on the bed. The baby immediately crawled over and pushed her little hands on his chest, attempting to climb on him. "Dadadadada," she said over and over again as she reached out to poke his face.

After Juliet's wedding, Laura went with Joslire to finish their night with Laila before dropping her off with Robert and Newt. Something about the wedding on the beach made her feel as if she had a renewed sense of love for Joslire - not that it ever was dampened. But the beach was where they'd first talked as they waded in the ocean. That first night, and he'd taken her back to the hotel where she'd given in to loving him.

After only a few hours of knowing him.

She was still that taken by him, it never stopped, and as she changed out of her dress and into comfortable clothes, she smiled to herself. She was so damn lucky that she planned on making sure he knew that every day that she could.

Together, they made their way to the beach, hand in hand and she looked up at the sky and stars. "Did you ever think that when we met, we'd be coming to this spot after dropping our daughter off so that we could have a date night?"

After speaking with Sam at the church, Laura made her way back home and found herself not quite as lost in her thoughts as she had been before. Walking inside, she'd already sent a message to Juliet asking her to please watch Laila for the night, which the other woman accepted.

Opening the apartment door, she called out and put the poster on the dining room table. "Jos, Laila?"

Laura was laying down in the middle of the bed, topless except for her chest which was wrapped with ice packs and an ace bandage. She was alternating moaning in pain and sobbing at the fact that she was finally done breast feeding Laila. She couldn't believe it was actually over and now she was in agony.

There was not enough pain medication in the world to make this okay.

"Josliiiiiiire," she called out. "This is the Gods' cruelest punishment for crying all seven years of being a teenager that it was so unfair I never had breasts."

Laura had been planning Joslire's birthday for weeks. With Robert's help, she was able to reserve the most luxurious room at The Sin for the entire weekend, and Boromir was good enough to baby sit Laila. It would be the longest they'd been away from her, but she knew they would come back refreshed.

He had more than one present coming to him as well. She knew how much he hated the cold, and with all of the walking they had to do through the village, she wanted him to stay warm. So, she bought him a nice new pair of gloves, nice lounge pants, a new scarf, and some new socks.

And of course, gifts from Laila. It was an attractive addition to his forge work belt.

Laura had Joslire blindfolded as she led him to The Sin, securely holding his hand and helping him step up if he needed to. They had to hurry, as underneath her heavy winter coat, she didn't have much on. Once they were inside a room that was fantastically candlelit, Laura grinned and thanked Robert silently before kissing Joslire's cheek.

"Okay. You can take off your blindfold, baby."

Her own scars were forgotten, things she didn't even think about anymore when she was like this with him. Over the past year he'd loved her so much that she never had to wonder or worry about how he felt. She didn't think about what he had to be thinking when his fingers wandered along her back.

Laura wasn't even worried about the new stretch marks on her hips courtesy of Laila.

Letting her hands make their way back around to his chest, she bent down and kissed Joslire right in the center of his chest before letting her lips do some exploring, pressing hot open mouthed kisses across his skin with her hair trailing.

It has come to my attention, through a post on BRPS, that one or more of you take issue with my portrayal of Laura in this community. I never thought that I would have to defend how I play a character, but this has hurt my feelings, deeply. For one, because I'm approachable. Instead of being passive aggressive, how about talking to me? I don't get pissed off until you do shit like post to BRPS.

Yes, Laura had a baby. And do you want to know why she was pregnant back in her canon? Because I fucked up. I forgot when I took her out for her canon update, where I'd brought her in from. She'd been in the game seven months by the time her canon update came around and it just...slipped my mind. I am sorry if for those of you scientifically minded you are now so offended you can't even stand it. I made a mistake; I talked to a couple of people, and we decided to let it go, never thinking that someone might be harboring thoughts of discontent for over nine months now.

At the end of her canon, Laura dies - end of story. I don't know what kind of an afterlife you believe in, or how you want to go about thinking your afterlife is going to be, but I wasn't going to bring her back with no hair, in her sick body. So, I brought her back about ten years younger than what she was in canon when she died, making her ~45. Yes, women can have babies at the age of 45. In fact, I suggest you Google it. And she wasn't recovering from cancer - she's dead, in a healthier afterlife body. If you're okay with the fact that she's dead, then why can't you accept that she also had a baby? As for high risk - that was discussed in game with her doctor. Thank you.

And finally, Laura's canon is done. I could have her sitting around with the Book of Pythia (which she BURNED because the prophecies all turned out to be CYLON BELIEFS) or angsting over the fleet (but why because she knows, obviously, that humanity lived on after she died) but there's nothing to go back to. There's absolutely nothing that needs to be revisited in canon, so what else am I supposed to do with her? In my opinion, this is a woman who is going to embrace a second chance to be healthy, alive, and loved and wanted. No, it's not with Bill Adama, but you'll get over it. In fact, if you want to really go there, I ship Laura and Bill like no other, but her husband in this game is spectacular. I don't think I could have stumbled across a better partner for her, and I think that if anything, if Adama came to the game and saw what she had now he would be so happy for her, because after everything, she deserves to be happy.

So there. I don't know if you expected me to go cry in my corner, or drop Laura to make way for someone else, or what. But I'm not doing that. This is how I portray her. We could talk about any single person's characterization or interpretation of how their character is played, but somehow, for some reason, you decided to pick on me. Whatever - I have my big girl panties on. Do you?

For Laura, the dress wasn't nearly as important as what was underneath. She'd been working out in the apartment when Jos was at work, doing sit ups and squats, and whatever else she could to make sure she got back into shape.

It was strange coming back to the apartment with it just being them, and she silently thanked Boromir for baby sitting. She'd gladly watch Henry for a week straight after this if he asked her to.

Kissing Joslire softly once before pulling away, she started towards the bedroom, then gestured to Shimmer. "You should fill up her toy with peanut butter to keep her busy," Laura said softly before disappearing around the corner. It gave her time to light candles in the bedroom and pull the sheets back on the bed.

Born at 11:21 p.m. 9-5-2009

She has a birthmark on her arm that matches one I have on mine, but other than that she looks exactly like Joslire. She is named after my mother who never got a chance to see her youngest baby grow up, or meet any of her grandchildren, and someone that Joslire holds dear. Already, Laila has had a remarkable life filled with the most spectacular poopy diapers you have ever seen and many successful attempts at breast feeding.

You may call her Laila, Sweet Pea, or Super Pooper.
