Full Steam Ahead
It’s been full steam ahead since we pivoted. As a quick refresher, we have moved away from the personal connection space. We are now working on a tool that helps product teams collect quality user feedback at scale through chat-based AI interviews, empowering them to make better product decisions. We are calling it Promptly, but we aren’t fully sold on the name just yet (so please let us know of any name ideas you have in the comments). Here is a quick recap.
Built a landing page
Developed a fully functional prototype that is ready to take on paying customers
Drafted a pitch deck and fine-tuned our positioning
Attended Collision, pitched to dozens of startups and investors, and built up a waitlist of potential customers and warm leads
Collision, Stomach Flu, and After Parties
Collision was a blast. Scott and Kai attended last year, but this was my first year at the conference. It was definitely a little overwhelming at times, but it was incredibly cool to see all the start-ups people were working on, and attend sessions from the likes of Marques Brownlee and Geoffrey Hinton.
Unfortunately, the day before the conference, I caught the stomach flu. So despite being a zombie at times, I tried to make the most out of the experience by taking naps periodically throughout the day. On day 2, Scott got sick as well.
We found that we got the most value (both in terms of connections and free food) from the after-parties - everyone was a lot more relaxed and ready to socialize. People in tech really know how to throw a good party.
A Week to Iterate
(In addition to spending time to recover) this past week has been dedicated to following up with the connections that we made at Collision while applying the feedback that we received to improve the product. Aside from product usability improvements, a lot of this feedback has been centered around improving our interviewer model. This iteration process has been really rewarding, and a challenge to see how quickly we can turn the feedback that we receive into insights and then into valuable product improvements. Definitely a welcome change from banging our heads against whiteboards, that’s for sure!
Allons-y Montreal
A quick break, but next week we are off to Montreal for Startupfest. Let us know if you are going to be there. We love to talk about all things product and entrepreneurship!
If you are a product manager or entrepreneur who wants to understand your product’s users at scale, we’d love to chat. Send us a message and/or sign-up for our waitlist if you are interested in being an early adopter of our product.
