‘Mini’ #AATP25: Updating All About That Place for 2025 in 8 Events on Substack Live
In 2024, Projectkin participated in the Society of Genealogists’ special 10-day series of talks ”All About That Place.” This year, we're revisiting the program with a series of eight live talks.
[UPDATED 24-Sept-2025—Added Speaker: Jude Rhodes on October 3rd.]
All About That Place 2025! (AATP25)
In 2024, Projectkin was delighted to join All About That Place, a celebration of one-place studies organized by the Society of Genealogists in collaboration with the Society for One-Place Studies, the British Association for Local History (BALH), and Genealogy Stories. Projectkin’s contribution was to co-sponsor the Pacific edition, a series of five live talks over the 10 days of the program. The idea was to help spread the concept in the Pacific region, so talks were generally related to places across the Americas and in the Pacific region. You’ll find the Projectkin recordings in the Society’s YouTube playlist for AATP24 and in a dedicated page at Projectkin.org/AATP24.
This year, the Society will celebrate one-place studies with a “Mini AATP” focusing on the 162 talks in the archive of the remarkable series on YouTube. They’ll be promoting these with a series of posts in their social media channels:

Collaborating with the Society of Genealogists, the Society for One-Place Studies, the British Association for Local History (BALH), and Genealogy Stories has been an honor. I’ve since learned a great deal about One-Place Studies, and am thrilled to support the discipline in any way I can.
Here at Projectkin, we’re all about family history storytelling. The towns, villages, and homes we’ve lived in — some for a century or more — have stories to tell that reflect on the individuals and the community as a whole. I hope you’ll join me in the conversations these delightful speakers and recordings inspire. See you there.

This is such a lovely event to look forward to.
