"Are you here for high tea?" "So is your face." on them and wondering if your support admins are all mad. I feel like its my burden to tell y'all that no, not all of your support administrators are mad. It's just me.

We were making up a story, with each person in the hot tub having to add a line in response to the previous one. It started with gerg's mom and ended up with me finishing someone else's question ("Are you here for high tea?") with the only thing I know how to say when I don't know what to say.

So... if I were to ask someone, say, thtsgoodsquishy...

"Are you here for I1?"

what would you say?

I know what I'd say: Congratulations!

I was busy converting existing web and userpics privs to troubleshooting and images and accidentally threw another command into the admin console... then I thought, well, why bother undoing it?

So, we were all working the mobile board at the request of rebelsheart, who expressed frustration (and understandably so!) at the lack of supporthelps in the category, thereby decreasing the speed at which users receive answers. We admins are solutions-oriented people, though. The discussion in #lj_supportadmin went something like this:

"Hey, I3 for Tango?"
"Yes."
"Cool."

Then we hatched a daring plan to priv him on IRC. It went something like this:

"Hey, Connie, go answer that request so I can make Tango PP on it."
"Okay."

Then the IRC conversation in #lj_support went something like this:

EDIT: There was even more discussion amongst some of the admins, and we determined that we were rather silly to exclude a couple of others from the mobilemobile. Say hello to silverflight8, who has been granted I2 and satyresque, who has been granted I1. Hoorj!

PRIVVINGS IN SYN YAYYYYY

After doing some stealth reviewing of screened answers, I was thrilled, utterly THRILLED tonight to discover that I have two people who have been poking around in syn and doing good work, and as such, who I think need some privs to convert fully to the path of Syn.

Therefore, I have made the following privvings effective immediately*:

satyresque, I1
silverflight8, I2

Go forth and syn more! As always, syn I1s include viewinternal, so it's really like getting an I2 light! Hooray!

PS: this is helpful for people starting in syn!

I logged on to Minecraft earlier today to find my entire inventory and indeed virtual-lego home erased. I thought that was rather peculiar, particularly considering I'm a server administrator and would have been notified had any destruction been taken place. As such, I set out to investigate what might be happening. My journey began, as many do, at the server's spawn point.

At the spawn point, I notice that a sign was placed there that certainly wasn't there before. This server's name isn't Adminica. Poorly-executed hacking attempt, perhaps? But no. When viewing the sign I was rewarded with two items: a wooden pickaxe and a compass to help me find my way.

I set off toward a house that hadn't been there bfore, uncertain of what I'd find and slightly afraid. Navigating my way through a maze of reeds, I eventually ran into…

Frank the Goat's adoptive sheep mother! I was wondering what she was doing in my Minecraft server, so I asked. Her reply was: "Baaaaaaah." Thankfully, the compass I was holding in my hand was capable of translating languages for me. What Frank's dear mother was attempting to tell me is that the answers to my questions can be found near fire next to a lake. I thought that was rather silly and cryptic, but continued on my journey toward the house hoping for answers.

I arrived at the house uncertain of what to expect. Gathering my courage, I entered and walked all the way to the basement after confirming that upstairs was empty…

In the basement I found another clue, except it wasn't a clue; my tormenters seemed to have known that I'd fall for the red herring. Distraught, I made my way back to the surface.

Having made my way back to the surface, I was upset to notice that it was now nighttime. But look ahead! I saw a large tower with an obsidian roof and lava coming down the sides. But is it next to a lake?

The tower was far away, and by the time I made it near it, I noticed that it was indeed next to a lake. I dug through the sand and found a sword with which to arm myself, hoping that I wouldn't have to use it.

I enter the tower and climb to the top floor. At first I don't notice anything.

But I look away for a moment, and suddenly three signs that hadn't been there previously were sitting right there, plain as can be.

I take a look, and I see the letter I on each of the 3 signs. I'm uncertain of what this means. While I'm thinking about I notice that the signs changed again!

Comm uni ties? Those are three separate words or abbreviations of words, but I'm not sure what they mean. It also appears that there are only two Is in these series of words. . . unless the third I, of course, belongs to Herobrine.

Then, it made sense. All of this. The server wasn't hacked; someone (Herobrine? Nathan and Dawna? you decide!) wanted to remind me of my adminly responsibilities. The three Is and the words comm uni and ties can clearly mean one thing: that I must grant I3 to a Communities volunteer! But who? That answer, unfortunately, wasn't available in Minecraft, so I had to check LiveJournal instead.

That's an adventure in and of itself, but the results are clear: that silverflight8 is most certainly deserving of I3 in the great and glorious category of Communities. Congratulations!

Shiny new Comms privs

I don't know about the weather wherever you live, but here in red-blooded, red-statin' Real America (TM) it's starting to feel like spring. The first thing I think about when winter begins to turn to spring? Comms privs. Easily.

We have one I1 to announce: alex8. This privving was very much overdue.

We also reviewed another volunteer and found out that they were not working at an I1 level, so silverflight8 will have to make due with I2 instead. I'm sure there won't be any objections. ;D
