I bought new pants today. I've been holding off for quite a while. My current range were all waist size 40" - and to be honest... they were actually very tight there for a while... (and by "while" I mean a couple of years...) But now they are super loose. I had previously bought new belts when I ran out of holes on the old ones. But when I pulled out a pair of jeans from the dryer this morning and found they were too loose when I first put them on, then I knew it was time.

Went with a waist 38. Personally I want to loose another 20 25 lbs. We shall see how it goes.

I've also downsized my shirts from XL to Large. Then I fell in love with a navy blue Brooks Brothers Cashmere/Cotton Tennis Sweater with white trim. I took a chance and ordered a Large (the local store only had small & mediums left) and found it fit perfectly. It works wonderfully with a white plaid button down, jeans, and a black hoodie.

Elemental Updates

2011 will be the last model year of the Honda Element. It was due to be replaced in 2012 by moving from a short wheel based Pilot to a long wheel based CRV. But Honda has decided to drop both the Element and CRV in favor of a new model in between they will call the CRV.

The Element was the King of Accessories. From cabana style tent attachments to legs to convert the spare wheel well cover into a table. The only accessories I bought with the Element were the mudflaps, fog lights, and front and rear rubber floor liners. When I learned of the Elements demise, I thought I should look into some accessories I did not already have - and by then the range had drastically diminished.

I did snag a rubber trunk liner, to match the front and back seat liners, and a cargo net off amazon. They were shipped from a dealership in Colorado, but at a discount. I'm curious if I should get the roof rails and perhaps a cargo box, just in case I ever need them? Maybe the bike clips for the rails?

The Element will be paid off this year, but I have no plans to replace it any time soon. I am toying with trading the 2001 VW in for probably a Audi Quattro. But even with that being an all wheel drive vehicle, the ground clearance is not what the element is, nor will it have the hauling capacity. So, I will keep the Element for what it was designed for: a Sport Utility Vehicle, as most manufacturers have forgotten that the "U" in SUV stands for "Utility".

Christmas Eve Day

My pc in the bedroom has been acting insane. I cracked open the case last night and found the power unit was smokin' hot. No wonder it's been turning itself off all the time - and a wonder it hasn't burned the house down...

Went to Best Buy for a new power unit this morning but they didn't have one - so I had to drive to MicroCenter instead. But BB did have a 3-pack of Windows 7 upgrades on sale at the same price as a single license.

I've been wanting to upgrade my vista 32 laptop forever, and to upgrade my 2 vista 64's at the same time I thought was a good deal. In fact the living room machine was getting damn sluggish, and I dreaded having to reinstall vista 64.

Surprise surprise, the home network feature actually works with Win7! Now all my computers are laughing and loving and sharing with one another... It's taken all day to upgrade the PCs - and honestly installing the new power unit in the upstairs i-7 was the easiest thing I've done today!

I've left this PC for last as I am on-call today and needed at least one working PC if the computer center happened to call me. It's nearly done, I'm just reinstalling a few programs and updating thru windows update now.

Oh, and my laptop runs wonderfully with 32-bit Win7. I always regretted buying it with vista32 - what a piece of shit that was.

I also picked up 3 wireless N adapters to get rid of the choppy HD being broadcast over my home network using the G's with the N-router. So, now I think I'll have the standard def box in my bedroom turned off. That'll lower my directv bill enough to pay for the adapters in 2 years.

was last night in my neighborhood. tonight in others. I ran out of candy within the first hour. Six bags of kit kats gone in a blink. Some strange woman set herself up in a chair on the sidewalk at the corner of my house. I felt that she was covering me. So, I went up the street and hung out with neighbors.

Later we ordered Donato's, drank a lot and played wii sports. I was on Team Domination.

I wonder how many kids, if any, will show up tonight? I didn't buy any additional candy.

I'm nearly done with the formal dining room. Picked up the glass doors for the bookshelves from Ikea this afternoon. And I think I need to get lower watt bulbs for the new floor lamp - it looks like a portal to heaven in the photo...

so I dug up the bushes in the front of the dining room windows and found the big slab of random concrete underneath. I dug that bitch out. I have the heat stroke to prove it.

Now if only the bushes can quickly get over the shock... But they were dying anywho. But it all looks nice now:

I also put down a fresh bed of mulch. I had the recycled rubber mulch - which looked wonderful when new but has since... well, it looked awful. I bet my neighbors thought me odd seeing me vacuum up the rubber mulch!

Oh, and here's the dining room. Ikea still hasn't gotten the glass doors in stock yet:

Moving to the Country

Granted I'm just in the suburbs, had many reasons behind it. One being my dislike of massive bad bass lines at 2 AM. And by "bad" I man horrible, distracting. Just as I would doze off, they'd start up again. I had already closed the windows and turned on the a/c again. I even cranked up my iPod to drown out the noise, but could still feel it reverberate through the outside wall and in my bed, counter to the music from my iPod. I eventually turned on the telly, cranking up it's subwoofer to nullify the 80's hair metal invasion.

As exhausted as I was, I only got about 4 hours sleep last night. Then took a nap between 8 and 10. So, I'm not as cranky now.

But I have much to do. MUCH TO DO! argehrelsidfueh......

I'm hopping on badrobot68's new meme: Blue Monday, blue shirt monday. I have a ton of blue shirts, so this will be easier than trying to stretch out 4 green ones forever.

Here I am wearing a pale blue Land's End wrinkle resistant button down and a grey plaid Tasso Elba tie, which I believe is a Macy's private brand though I think I bought it at TJ Maxx. Its silk a thick beefy stew, quite impressive for Macy's.

this is the smoked salmon quiche I made last week. I have never made one before and it was oh so deceptively easy. Found the recipe on the interwebs. It calls for 8 oz of Smoked Salmon, but I think I will cut that down next time and add an additional egg - as it was almost overpowering the entire dish. I also varied the recipe by adding mushrooms.

My mom complained at christmas that I was too damn hard to shop for. So, I setup a wish list @ amazon and started adding everything i wanted rather than buying it myself.

i was out driving around last night. went to eastgate mall, then to see from paris with love, then back to the eastgate steak n shake.

on the way home, there was an isuzu rodeo off in a ditch blocking the other side of the road and a little suzuki samuri stuck on the same hill blocking my side of the road as he tried to avoid the isuzu. so i had to drive off the road and around them all.

the guys with me kept laughing, yelling that i was going to get stuck! But the mighty honda element with awd didn't let me down and made it round them all and up the hill without any problems. Now they wouldn't have been laughing had I actually got stuck.

they're calling for another inch by 2, so I'll wait till then before breaking out the snow blower.

when I walked out of Target. I walked with my head down as I was wearing my glasses. I saw the Big Blue Honda Element to my left and walked towards it. Pushed the remote button as I approached but didn't hear the doors unlock, so I pushed it again.

I flung the door open and an old woman in the passenger seat screamed.

I was so embarrassed... I kept saying "I am soooo sorry..." over and again, laughing.

She said, I think your driving the one back there, and pointed to behind her...
