So apparently the Tutu creators will be at an event in Texas this year. Anyone here know about this? Anyone planning to go? It's sad to see the place so dead here. Maybe this will give us something to tal about again. :)

Soundtracks

I see the comm is pretty quiet, but if anyone is still around, is there anyone here who has the soundtracks from princess tutu? I scoured the older posts and all of the links are dead, and while i was able to find some of the files on youtube, there are still a lot missing.

My laptop died and I am unable to retrieve all of my files, which included the PT OSTs. I would be super grateful to anyone who would could give me a file for them!

Bringing life back to this comm...I remember when there were multiple posts a day! Well I wonder if anyone remembers me. I haven't edited a Princess Tutu amv in nearly 4 years. I went on a unique angle with this where I chose a very upbeat song which isn't my norm since I regularly edit drama and angst, but somehow managed to include the drama of the series.

I've been going at it for at least a month now, so there's a good number of videos there. I just want to share the large number of awesome Tutu AMVs I've found, and this is a fun way to do it. :3

Fanfic: Simply A Backstory

Hello, I'm new to the entire livejournal experience, and relatively new to the PT fandom. But I've recently finished a fanfiction, and before I start posting would like to have someone beta/edit it. Because I can only catch so much on my own. Warning, it is a long one, but it is complete, and I've done one round of edits on it. I plan to start posting chapters on my fanfiction.net account once the edits are finished.

Brief summary: Princess Tutu only had a few lines in the original 'The Prince and The Raven.' But when Fakir needs a subject to write about, there's not a lot of options that will motivate him enough to get through a story. So he investigates. However, even stories that are already over can be influential...
Wordcount: ~81,000

So today I ended up reading the play Aria da Capo, due to being curious because an actor I crush on played the leading man in an old television production of it. Then, utterly bewildered, I looked for more information on exactly what the meaning was intended to be and stumbled across this article:

The idea of the characters as players in a production that they can't escape, and whose roles end up becoming all too real, certainly puts me in mind of Drosselmeyer and Princess Tutu.

I'm playing around with an idea for a fic, but I've hit a snag. Can anybody tell me when Mytho and the Raven King find out that Princess Tutu and Ahiru are the same person? I think Rue learns this during the conclusion of Season 1 (or sooner?), but I don't remember when the other two characters find out.

Can you imagine how bonkers things must get in the Princess Tutu universe on Valentine's Day? Hermia/Bottom is working overtime to deliver everybody's Valentine's cards; Mytho wants to send a Valentine to Princess Tutu, and Fakir is constantly saying how stupid this holiday is (even as his side of the room is flooded with cards from all the girls who are on Team Fakir); Rue gets valentines from every boy in the school, not just the dance students; and Neko-sensei doesn't have class that day because all the students are hiding from him. (With the exception of the sloth from the ballet competition episode, who Neko-sensei is hiding from!)

Frozen Feather Part 1

Once Upon a time, in a cold and faraway land, there lived a lonely queen. It was said that her heart which had once been warm and bright, had been slowly frozen solid by a cruel twist of fate.

“Rue! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!” The princess knew that voice, only how had she gotten in here? She could have sworn she locked the door.

Slowly, she turned and looked up. Yep, it was the same smiling, freckled face that greeted her every morning.

“Good morning, big sis!” the younger princess said with a smile. “You look lovely as usual after just waking up! When I woke up this morning it looked like my head became a nest for the birds. It took me this long just to fix it!”

Rue felt herself smile softly. “Good morning, Ahiru.”

Ahiru ran around the room, her arms spread out like wings. The skirt of her green dress was flying behind her as she moved. “So what are we going to do today?”

“You are going to practice your dancing,” Rue said firmly, not moving from her bed.

Ahiru stopped running and twirled her hair shyly. “Ehehe. So the staff told you about that, did they?”

Rue nodded solemnly. “They did.”

“But I was hoping to spend the day with you! We hardly get any time together anymore! There’s this place I really want to take you! You never go outside anymore!”

“I’m still sick, darling. I can’t go outside in the snow,” Rue said, trying to be gentle.

“Well, okay, but, why can’t I come inside?”

“Do you think our dear mother and father would ever forgive me if I carelessly let you catch my cold?” Rue said. “‘Rue!’ They’d scold in my dreams, ‘how could you be so negligent with your little sister when she’s all you have left?’ It’s for your own good that we limit contact.”

“Well, I don’t want Mommy and Daddy to haunt you over something like that.” Ahiru thought for a moment. “Can we at least have breakfast together?”

“Oh very well,” Rue sighed.

“Yay! I’ll bring mine into your room so you don’t have to move!”

As soon as Ahiru left, Rue checked under the blankets. Good the black feathers of the curse were just barely poking out of her wrists. If she was lucky, she’d be able to hide them while she ate.

I want to know the exact quote of what she said, and if I know when she said it, I can look up the quote myself directly. (I particularly want to know what she said in Japanese, so I need more than just the English quote) Thanks everyone!

ballet question

A friend and I went to see The Nutcracker recently. It was wonderful, as usual, but during one of the dances (maybe the Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy), I noticed that the ballerina's stiff-looking tutu is smashed up against her male partner's face during the lifts. Can anybody tell me how the male dancers keep their faces from being scratched all to hell?
