For HISTORY -- The tale of Prussia from the time he had become Prussia, to his current year (1757).
I'm not even close to done with the compilation, and some is headcanon, so check back often. If I've left something out you think is important, please let me know.

R e L a T i V e - H i S t O r Y ;;

1525; Protestant Reformation
Gilbert starts to grow up. He is no longer the Teutonic Order, and begins his ascent from adolescence into manhood. He is emotionally split into two Prussias - Duchy and Royal. He no longer serves The Catholic Church - he is protestant.

1618; Brandenburg
Gilbert is seduced by the power and influence of the still Catholic Margraviate of Brandenburg. They form a union, each trying to convert the other while establishing a huge power-base on the continent. He succeeds in the end, and Bradenburg-Prussia is a protestant state.

1618; Thirty Years' War
The Catholic Church is angry. Gilbert doesn't care, until war breaks out on his lands. He thought Hungary was his friend. Neither Sweden nor Denmark can be trusted. He gets closer to France, and England catches his eye. Spain is still a mere enemy.

1700; Great Northern War
Gilbert decides Sweden is a bigger threat than Denmark. He fights along side the Dane and Russia. The Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth is still an annoyance. Victory for him - thanks for the stuff Swedes.

1701; Becoming a Kingdom
Gilbert is worn out. The Duchy of Prussia takes over his personality, completely cutting off Royal Prussia. He becomes more violent, 'murdering' Bradenburg*, desperate to prove himself in the eyes of Europe. He becomes the Kingdom of Prussia.

1712; Old Fritz
Frederick II the Great is born. Gilbert sees immediately he will be a good king.

1740; Silesian Wars
Silesia is Gilbert's, and only Gilbert's. He goes to war with Austria again to prove it.

1740; War of Austrian Succession
The fight over Silesia has exploded. Maria Theresa is a threat. Gilbert and his now good friend France go to war together. Spain joins them - the three become inseparable... for now. Russia and England have turned out to be enemies after all.

1748; Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle
The war is over. Gilbert is victorious yet again. He is slowly gaining power and rank on the continent. Austria's humiliation causes him to beg for favors. Gilbert is suspicious of Roderich's constant visits to France.

1756; Something Went Wrong
Gilbert discovers that Austria has been courting France to gain an alliance. Not to be outdone, he goes to England to plead his case. Portugal joins them, sending Spain to the side of Austria. Sweden changes sides again, allying with Austria as well. Russia joins them soon after.
He is devastated by the difference in forces, but even more so the loss of his two close friends France and Spain. Gilbert hardens his heart and laughs loudly - he'll get used to being alone.

1757; CURRENT YEAR
Gilbert's frustration is growing. He laughs it off.
He is fighting on four fronts - France from the West, Austria from the South, Russia from the East, Sweden from the North. He does not give in. He won't. He can't.
England is turning out to be more harm than aid at the moment. He has faith in this alliance, though.
Russia invades. Gilbert is struck between admiration and hatred. Hate wins out. He forces Russia back, but his embarrassment isn't forgotten. He has to withdraw from Bohemia.

Things are not looking good. But he is the Kingdom of Prussia - determined to become Europe's top empire. He will succeed, through any means necessary.

❦ ❧ ➳ ➴ ➵ ➶ ➷ ➸ ➹ ➺

Side note: I know the "ß" in "Preußen" makes a "ss" sound, don't worry about the username
*headcanon; Brandenburg survives (perhaps secretly until 1806) of course
