Magazine Theme Tutorial?

Hello,
I just purchased the magazine theme and have a 2 part question. The first is that Im new to this and wonder if there is a tutorial to set my site up like the demo with step by step instruction? The second question is can I have an image to highlight an article on the front page that is specifically only on the front page leading to the article or does that image also need to be in the article? How would I do that if its possible?

Hi! The theme setup docs are here https://premium-themes.forums.wordpress.com/topic/magazine-documentation?replies=1 in the sticky post at the top of the forum.

FOr the images, you just need to upload an image while writing the post. It will be the featured image. You can skip inserting in to the body if you like.

Thanks for the reply! What if I already have the posts up in my current setup? Will it be to late for your advise on the featured image?

Some setting will show an excerpt and a featured image and skip the post in the body.

Ok, thank you for the help. I have a question that Im having trouble with. Im trying to put the menus on the top like the demo and when I follow the directions from the link you sent me, after I save my settings the menus don’t show up on my page afterwards. Is there a step Im missing? Thanks in advance!

I appreciate all your help with the menus and totally understand it now. I am just confused with adding a feature picture to an article Ive already posted and how to get it on the front page(highlighting) but not the article itself.

Disregard the above question! What I meant to ask was when Im posting using the Genesis-Featured Posts widget, how do I pick the specific posts I want to feature on my page? I only see the category options and not a specific post from that category. And again, thanks in advance!!

You can only pick a specific series of posts – not just one. It pulls the latest from all categories or the latest from whatever single category you choose.

ok, to get around that could I make a category say for each highlighted article Id want? For instance lesson 1, lesson 2 and then put the article I want in there with that as a category? If that did work would it make my site look messy to google for indexing and listing? Thank-you
