Hentry errors
-
Hello,
My question relates to the hentry errors received on Google console for author type. From my research, it may be caused from the use of the Rosalie theme. Are you aware of the issue, and how I can fix this while still using this theme?
Thank you!

Hi there,
thank you for writing and using Rosalie :)We have checked one of the articles and the Google Structured Data Testing Tools (https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool) didn’t get any error:
Could you please let us know more info about the errors?
Here you are how to send screenshots if you prefer use them:

When I look at the live data, it does not note any warnings or errors, but within the “Structured data” tab, these are the screenshots that I have show multiple errors due to “Author”.

Hi there,
thank you for your screenshots, they help us a lot.It seems that urls that are getting errors are pages and archive pages (categories, tags…). Generally, the structured data are used in Posts mostly rather than in Page or in archives. Most of WordPress.com themes follow this structure.

The easiest fix is to add the author info bellow the date and reading time for archive pages, and create a function to show the author in static pages. Then if you did not want to show the author name, you would hide it after with CSS.
The best way to proceed is to create a child theme, but in WordPress.com this is not allowed. Please, let us discuss with WordPress.com team which is the best way to proceed. We will write as soon as we get an answer.
Thank again!

Hi there,
We were talking to WordPress.com team and the bast way to solve the issue is to create a child theme for your site. As you are using the business plan, you are able to upload themes via Calypso.
We have created a basic child theme to fix this. Here you are the link to download and upload it to your site:

Hello,
I was able to upload the zip and use the child theme. Are there any other changes I need to make? If not, I will check the google data in a couple days and report back. Thank you.
