Chinese Language Camp

The LSU Summer Chinese Language Camp will take place at LSU's World Language Lab & Resource Center located in Prescott Hall room 234. Prescott Hall is located on LSU's Quad right in the heart of campus.

The camp will offer Elementary-aged students two weeks of language and cultural instruction. Get immersed in this unique experience where students will have the chance to participate in a variety of activities learning the Chinese language and culture with experienced LSU faculty.

Cybersecurity

In the age of growing technology, understanding how we protect ourselves is ever important. Here students will learn how bad actors try to get your information and the ways we try to protect yourself or others. From identifying phishing emails to computer networks to cryptography, we will explore various areas of cybersecurity. Where by the end of the program, students will be prepared for the cybersecurity concentration at LSU or those wanting to learn more about how to protect themselves in the digital age.

Esports: The World of Esports

This two-week summer camp immerses high school students in the dynamic and ever-evolving world of e-sports. Participants will explore the history of competitive gaming, the rise of professional leagues, and the impact of technology on the industry. Additionally, students will dive into game design, game feel, and how different genres—including cozy games—can offer competitive experiences. The camp will also include an exciting visit to LSU’s Digital Media Center, where students will gain insight into game development, digital production, and careers in the gaming industry.

eXploreCS Junior High

Computer science is a quickly growing field with a diverse array of applications. Computer scientists are innovators and problem-solvers who play a crucial role in society from engineering and business to entertainment! In this camp, participants will learn basic skills in Python programming language and learn key concepts in major areas of computer science such as algorithms, video games, artificial intelligence, robotics, digital music production, and ethical hacking. Participants will also program an Arduino to create circuits, read sensors, and build an autonomous robot using a Sparkfun Kit that they will take home on the last day.

Lunch and snacks will be provided daily.

This camp is supported by Louisiana Economic Development. Partial financial need scholarships are available.

Fundamentals of Anatomy

Dates: Fundamentals of Anatomy

Time: 9AM - 4PM

Campers enrolled in this course will explore the inner workings of the human body. The first part of each day will begin with the in-depth exploration of a major body system. Campers will also apply their new knowledge through careful dissection of a preserved specimen and compare and contrast the body systems seen with those of a human. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and interact with practitioners. This course will help students interested in medicine, veterinary medicine or in Kinesiology explore gain a better understanding of an important part of these disciplines. It will also provide them with skills they will be able to use during their studies.

Fundamentals of Sound Engineering

This course is an introduction to both the compositional and technical aspects of music production and recording. We will cover the physics of sound, microphone use and design, recording techniques, recording and computer music software, synthesis, foley and sound design, and music theory and harmony. Students will record and produce their own tracks and sound effects and will have the opportunity to collaborate with the Game Design in JavaScript class to write an original soundtrack. This course is perfect for any students interested in music or sound design.

Game Design in JavaScript

In this course, we will cover the basics of JavaScript - one of the most widely-used coding languages available - to learn how to code your own 2D video game. You will program character interactions, set up keyboard controls, add your own soundtrack, and more. At the end of camp, we will have a competition to see who can score the highest on each person's final game. Some programming experience is helpful, but not required.

German Language Camp

Halliburton XCITE

Dates: July 12th - July 18th, 2026

Time: Full day residential

Program fee: $800

The Halliburton XCITE engineering camp at the LSU College of Engineering offers high school students the opportunity to discover and explore engineering, computer science, and construction management degrees and careers. Campers reside on campus as an introduction to college, and the week is action packed with hands-on activities and tours to engineering facilities. There are Engineering 101 sessions where you learn about the major and career from faculty members then tackle a small engineering project. Students also delve deeper into engineering through a major design challenge over the week.

Tuition includes housing, supplies, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Reduced fees are available. Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Human Health and Environment

This course immerses students in real-world scenarios, scientific inquiry, knowledge of human health, and associated consequences of environmental change and challenges. In addition to studying the basic principles of environmental sciences and human disease, students will examine the intricacies and relatedness of these two fields as we navigate an ever-changing world. This course also provides students with the scientific principles, concepts, and methodologies to contribute scientific discovery and inquiry needed to best serve humanity and the world that surrounds us. By the end of the course, students will be prepared for taking high school biology, AP biology, or AP Environmental Science in the upcoming year.

Unleash your inner engineer and get ready to build, program, and battle your way to victory in our Introduction to VEX Robotics summer camp! This exciting week-long program is designed for aspiring engineers, problem-solvers, and tech enthusiasts who want to dive into the world of robotics. This camp is for students with no prior experience in VEX robotics.

This camp is open to middle school students who have NOT had any exposure to robotics and has a limit of 10 campers.

Math Circle: Conducting Mathematical Research

Virtual Math Circle is designed to provide high school students with the opportunity to conduct mathematical research with guidance from professors and graduate students. NASA Astro: Virtual

Explore the mysteries of space with us as we take spacewalks in virtual reality, build working robots, plan a lunar colony, launch rockets, explore the surface of Mars, do out-of-this-world experiments, and collaborate as a crew to complete challenging space missions.
