I am pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Omiecinski to the position of Managing Director – Duravant Thailand, reporting directly to me. In this new role, Chris will have full responsibility for all Duravant Operations in Southeast Asia, including the establishment of the appropriate infrastructure to drive profitable market growth for products and services across Duravant’s Protein Processing, Food Sorting and Handling, Packaging and Material Handling segments.
Southeast Asia presents multiple opportunities for Duravant to further extend our presence in this fast- growing, highly diverse market. Through a collaborative sales effort within the country structure, we are targeting closer engagement with our customer base across the broader Duravant offering.
The formation of Duravant Thailand will facilitate a multi-faceted go-to market strategy, including working in tandem with third party agents to leverage their capabilities in the region and focusing on regional anchor accounts who will benefit from a broader range of Duravant solutions. Our customers will also gain access to a robust service network, local availability of parts, and broad-based technical support through the Duravant Lifecycle Services framework.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Design from the University of Waterloo and a Business diploma from the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. He has mentored numerous technology companies via Canadian government sponsored incubators and accelerators and directed Canadian government funding of autonomous/electric vehicle technology initiatives in the province of Ontario.
Prior to Duravant, Chris led the revenue activities of Marel Meat in their Asia & Oceania region. He also held several leadership roles with Jamesway Incubator Company including President and Managing Director for Jamesway China. Chris’ broad exposure to various end-markets also includes time in the warehouse, logistics and transportation spaces.
Chris joined Duravant on January 1st and will be based out of Duravant’ s office in Bangkok, Thailand where he and the growing team will expand our local resources to drive sales, parts delivery, and lifecycle services.
