When a text or video post is encountered, it projects the image/video onto a flat surface like a movie projector in a movie theatre. The projection originates from the eyes. It will also project holographic images, but it does not require a flat surface to do so. It will speak audio. To input a text or audio message, Severus speaks to the deer and specifies after he is through speaking if it is to be text or audio.
It has AI capabilities (on par with an average student of Severus‘, so not very intelligent at all), and will display messages filtered to Severus, or those that might be of interest of him without him asking for them. As well, for urgent messages, it will become very insistent on Severus seeing the post, often head-butting him or otherwise vying for his attention in a very demanding manner.

Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Severus is a very skilled wizard. He’s able to cast an amazing range of spells and is even able to perform wordless magic (that is, casting a spell without speaking the incantation). He showed an exceptional gift as a student at Hogwarts for inventing charms and curses. He’s also very talented at dueling, able to hold off, by himself, a group of three Hogwarts professors at one point, all of whom were decades older than him. Severus was the only known Death Eater (bad guy, basically) that was able to perform a Patronus charm (a spell that is used to repel Dark creatures.)
He’s also extremely talented at the art of brewing Potions. While teaching the subject at Hogwarts, he introduces himself as a Potions Master, which seems to be a separate title than that of ’professor’. None of the other Hogwarts teachers introduce themselves as a ’ ---- master’. He is able to brew the Wolfsbane potion, an extremely difficult potion that keeps a werewolf docile during the full moon.
There are two forms of magic which are used to ’read’ minds. There is Legillimency, (the spell used to read minds) and Occlumency, which is used to protect a mind from being read. Severus is very skilled in both schools of magic. In fact, since he is able to use Occlumency to such a degree that he can protect his mind from Lord Voldemort, the most skilled Legillimens of all time --thus, it can be said that Severus is the most skilled Occlumens of all time.
As well, Snape is capable of flying without a broomstick. He is the only wizards other has Lord Voldemort that is shown to be able to do so - although it’s never really explained HOW he does it.
Snape has also shown himself to be quite capable of healing, or at least counter-cursing. He helps to save Katie Bell after her encounter with a cursed necklace, and prolongs Dumbledore’s death after his mishap with Marvolo Gaunt’s Ring (which was a Horcrux). He also easily healed Draco with a healing charm after Harry Potter nearly cut him in half with sectumsempra, probably because he is the creator of both spells
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? I think this should be sufficient. If not, then I’ll make up an actual superpower for Snape.
Weapons: His wand is the only weapon he needs. I’m not exactly sure of what his wand is made of, since it’s never revealed in canon. But it is long, since the wands usually reflect the height of their wielders, and Severus is quite tall.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: In 1960, Severus Snape was born to Tobias Snape and Eileen in Mill Town, Yorkshire, England. After that, everything was downhill. He lived on Spinner’s End, an area of high poverty. His parents fought often, and although never directly stated, it is very heavily implied that Severus was a loner of a child, and the victim of parental neglect. This neglect (and, again, implied verbal and/or physical abuse by his parents) may have been a contributing factor to his unfriendly personality and cruel behaviour in adulthood.
The one shining light in his poor childhood was that of (what appears to be) his only friend, Lily Evans. She lived nearby and, after watching her playing for a while, Severus realized that she had magical powers, like he did. It took him quite a while to work up enough courage to speak to her and tell her that she was a witch. That seemed to impress Lily, and they became very good friends, despite Severus’ shabby appearance. This friendship lasted them through quite a few years of their Hogwarts career, even though they had been sorted into rival Houses at the school. Although Lily seems not to have returned the feeling, Severus was deeply in love with her.
Because of his poor social skills and unlikable appearance, Severus was not popular at school. He seems to have very few friends aside from Lily Evans, most of whom were the “bad kids” at school - those who preferred to dabble in the Dark Arts. Also during these years, Severus established a life-long hatred of James Potter and his friends. The “marauders” as they called themselves, bullied Severus throughout their school career. In fact, at some point before their sixth year at Hogwarts, Sirius Black (One of James Potter’s friends) thought it would be fun to trick Snape into visiting the Shrieking Shack at a time when Remus Lupin, another of James’ friends and a werewolf, would be there during his transformation into a werewolf. This prank would have killed Snape if James Potter had not saved his life. However, instead of believing that James had done this out of the goodness of his heart, Severus believes that James saved him in order to escape punishment.
It was due to this rivalry that Severus lost the love of his life, Lily Evans. During a malicious prank played out before an audience in which James Potter used his own spell against him to turn him upside down and reveal his underwear to many students, Lily came to his defense. Severus, lashing out at James in an attempt to recover some dignity from his humiliating ordeal, inadvertently called Lily a ‘Mudblood’. In the wizarding world this is a very serious insult for someone born of non-magical parents. It implies that the person is dirty, that they have “mud” for blood, instead of being a “pure” blooded person of magical heritage. Lily refused to forgive him for insulting her like that, even though he tried again and again to apologize to her.
After he lost Lily, Severus’ attitude went from bad to worse. Adding to his anger was the way that Lily, who had previously snubbed James Potter, began to date him and ended up falling in love with his worst enemy. This only strengthened Severus’ hatred of James.
Though it isn’t specified exactly when, shortly after he graduated Hogwarts Severus joined the ranks of Lord Voldemort’s Death Eaters. The Death Eaters were a faction mostly made of pure-bloods that wanted to destroy Muggles (non-magical folk) and muggleborn witches and wizards. Though Severus still loved Lily, he was working with Voldemort and others to destroy her kind.
During a mission to spy on Dumbledore and Trelawney in Hogsmeade, Severus overheard one of the few true prophecies that Sybill Trelawney would ever make. It was the prophecy reporting that a child would be born, a child that would be the only person who could defeat Voldemort. He reported it to Voldemort without knowing that the subjects of the prophecy were James, Harry, and Lily Potter.
Once he found that fact out, though, Severus desperately begged Voldemort to spare Lily. When Voldemort denied him, he sought Dumbledore’s aid for the Potters. Not because he cared for the child, or wanted to repay his debt to James for saving his life, but because he still loved Lily and couldn’t bear to see her die. He begged Albus to save them. Dumbledore was willing to do so, but at a price. Afraid that his only love would be killed, Severus promised him anything. Dumbledore‘s price was steep: he demanded that Severus serve as a spy for him. It was a move that could end in his torture and death if he was discovered, but he agreed to do it.
But not even Dumbledore could keep them safe from Voldemort. Lily and James were killed, the baby Harry the only member of the Potters to survive the murderous night. It wasn’t what he had wanted, but Dumbledore had attempted to keep up his end of the bargain that they had struck. That meant Severus had to do the same. And what Dumbledore wanted would test Severus’ patience completely.
He wanted Snape to protect the brat born of the union of the man he had despised all those years and the only woman he had ever loved. Ten years passed before he had to do much of anything about Harry Potter. During that time, he accepted a pst at Hogwarts school for Witchcraft and Wizardry, the position of Potions professor… as well as the Head Of Slytherin House. Not much is known about what else he did during those ten years since the Dark Lord Voldemort’s fall. But once Harry had begun his time at Hogwarts, things began to spiral out of control. Long before he’d ever met Harry Potter, Severus had decided that he despised the boy because of his heritage. And, to his credit, Potter didn’t give him any reason not to hate him. The boy was rude, arrogant, cheeky -- the reincarnation of James Potter, it seemed. Despite the fact that he loathed the boy as much as he had hated his father, Severus kept to his word, using a spell to counter a curse on Harry during his first year and putting himself between Potter and a werewolf during his third year, among other things. Still, Harry refused to see just what Severus was doing to protect and to teach him the things he needed to know and Severus refused to stop harassing Potter for the crimes of his father. They hated each other, and that seemed to be enough for the both of them.
After Harry Potter’s fourth year at Hogwarts, the Dark Lord Voldemort returned to life, thanks to the interference of Barty Crouch Jr. and Peter Pettigrew. Under Dumbledore’s orders, Snape returned to Voldemort’s side, reassuming the heavy mantle of a double-agent easily. Voldemort was pleased to have his insider in Hogwarts back, and Dumbledore was pleased that his favorite spy was putting his life on the line once again to retrieve some scraps of information on the Dark Lord’s whereabouts and movements. As if that wasn’t enough for him, in 1996, Dumbledore ordered Snape to begin teaching Harry how to master Occlumency. Occlumency is a very difficult art to learn, and Potter proved to be as poor at learning that as he was at nearly everything else. It was shaping up to be a rather poor experience for the both of them. Potter’s only success was a fluke, when he cast a Reflecting Charm at Severus, reversing his spell on him. This caught Severus by surprise, and he was able to snatch small glimpses of fragments of Snape’s childhood memories before he was repelled. Still, he did not advance to Severus’ liking, no matter how many ‘lessons’ they had.
And then it happened. During a disturbance, Severus was taken away from the classroom. Harry, being the nosy brat he is, decided to take a peek into a Pensieve that Severus had left out. Harry was subjected to what is known as Snape’s Worst Memory, the memory in which Severus called Lily a mudblood by mistake. He had placed it there to keep Potter from seeing it, and when he found that the boy had snuck a peek at it, he was infuriated. He threw Harry out, and refused to instruct him in Occlumency any longer. Even the death of his hated enemy Sirius Black could not get Severus to budge on his decision to stop with Occlumency lessons. He wanted to protect the memories he had even more closely, and protect them from Potter.
Before the next school year had started, Severus found himself visited by Narcissa Malfoy and Bellatrix Black. Narcissa had found out that her son, Draco, had been assigned a difficult task by the Dark Lord Voldemort. Though Severus did not know what it was, he promised to watch over and protect her son. But that wasn’t enough for Narcissa. She demanded an Unbreakable Vow, a vow that, contrary to it’s name, is quite breakable. Although, if Severus had broken the promise, it would have killed him. But still he took the vow, promising not only to protect and watch over Draco Malfoy, but to complete the task if Draco could not. This had been a sudden addition to the terms of the vow, one Severus had not prepared for. He did not know what Draco’s task was yet, and he would be quite startled to find out.
Then, a book that Severus had long since discarded resurfaced, his own copy of Advanced Potions Making. It was a special book, enchanted to respond to questions, to offer advice when it was necessary. It was where he wrote down some of the more vicious spells he had invented. And it had fallen into the hands of Harry Potter, somehow. He wasn’t aware of this until Potter had used the spell Sectumsempra to almost bisect Draco Malfoy during a duel in a girl’s bathroom. Although he demanded to have the book back, Potter changed books with Ron Weasley, hiding the book away. Severus never saw it again.
And he was too busy with other things to try and take it back, though it was dangerous to leave in Potter’s hands. Bigger dangers were surfacing each month. Cursed necklaces, poisoned mead --all signs pointing to an attempt at assassination on Albus Dumbledore. By Draco Malfoy.
This was the task he had been assigned to by the Dark Lord, a task he was doomed to fail at. So, really, it was Severus’ task to complete. And, although he didn’t like the idea, he knew he was going to have to do it. To ‘save their [Draco and Harry’s] souls’, although the question of what would happen to Severus’ soul once he had bloodied his hands went unanswered.
In exchange for taking his life, Dumbledore made Snape privy to all the information he’d kept secret from Harry himself. Such as the fact that Dumbledore was dying from his contact with a Horcrux and, the most surprising thing of all, that Harry himself was a horcrux and would have to die to end Voldemort. He was actually shocked and outraged on Potter’s behalf, likening him to ‘a pig raised for slaughter’. Not a very flattering metaphor, but one that certainly said what Severus had wanted it to. It wasn’t enough for Severus, but he had to take what he could before he killed Dumbledore.
The day came, and passed in a whirlwind of events. Severus killed Dumbledore and fled Hogwarts with Draco Malfoy during a siege of Death Eaters that Draco had let into the castle. Potter, having witnessed Dumbledore’s murder, followed, hurling insults and attempts to jinx Severus. Severus did not retaliate, at least not until Potter called him a ‘coward’. That set him off like nothing else Potter had said or done. He turned, defending himself ferociously, shrieking at Potter: “DON’T CALL ME COWARD!”. But he did not attempt to attack Harry. At least not until Harry attempted to using one of the spells that Severus had invented. Then he began to attack, furious that Harry had not only insulted him, but attempted to turn one of his own spells against him, in the way his father had before him. He did not attempt to kill Harry Potter or even wound him, just using whatever spell he could to disarm Potter and knock him to the ground so that he could escape. It worked, and he fled into the night with Draco Malfoy.
It isn’t known what he did from that night until he went back to Hogwarts. But at the beginning of the school year of 1998, after a silent takeover of the Ministry of Magic, Draco and Severus were cleared of all charges of murdering Dumbledore, the blame instead resting on Harry Potter’s head, Severus returned to the school, this time as Headmaster.
It wasn’t an easy year for him. Although the Dark Lord had placed other Death Eaters in the school as ‘Professors’, the original Hogwarts staff still knew what Snape had done and despised him for it. And some of the students refused to accept their new headmaster and the new rules that were set into place. He constantly had to deal with the rebellious students and unruly teachers, as well as the Death Eaters that had been placed at Hogwarts. And all throughout the year, Severus was slyly helping Potter on his quest to destroy the Horcruxes. Potter never noticed that Severus helped him. Potter was an idiot and didn’t realize that Severus had done everything but hand him the Sword of Gryffindor on a silver platter, just like he had planned.
And that is the last we know of Severus until the great Battle at Hogwarts. However, I’m going to be taking Severus from a slightly earlier time than that battle, since… well, he died. And I don’t plan on playing a zombie! … Although Zombie Snape would be pretty wicked. Hey, congrats on making it this far. I’m done with history now. Move along, nothing more to see here.

Point in Canon: May 2nd, 1998. The day of the Final Battle at Hogwarts, but before it commences.
Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history: N/A

Character Personality: Severus Snape is a bitter, angry man. He’s been this way from childhood, it seems, though he has gained much more control over his temper as the years have passed. Well, at least when compared to his childhood memories, he has. When he was a child, he would use magic to strike out at those who annoyed him, such as Lily’s sister Petunia.
During his teenage years the hatred inside of him only grew. The torment he went through at the hands of James Potter and the loss of Lily Evans changed his life forever. Had he not lost her, he might have been able to grow normally and develop into a less angry man. But the fates were stacked against him.
He grew to hate everyone around him. He turned into a bitter, furious man, a man who refused to let go of a grudge even after twenty years. Because he had been bullied, he bullied the children that he taught. But he was still an effective teacher. Most of his students of his were terrified of him, which made them terrified of failure. So, Severus did succeed in teaching, although it brought him no joy.
He rarely loses his temper, although when he does he is either explosive, or freezing cold. An example of his explosive temper was when Sirius Black escaped, and he was denied his revenge on the man who had tried to kill him. He screamed and raved, refusing to listen to reason. And an example of his cold fury was when Harry Potter looked into the Pensieve and saw his Worst Memory. Again, he refused to listen, but he did not scream or shout, he just threw Potter out of his classroom.
Severus is a biased man, and it shows in his teaching abilities. He obviously favours those from his house, Slytherin, doling out punishment at the slightest provocation to those from other houses. In his dealings with others - those who aren't children - Severus will be cold... and probably just as biased as he is when teaching. He will be sharp on the others in Siren's Port, bordering on the verge of rudeness. At times, with some, I'm sure he will be extremely rude.
Conditional: Personality development in previous game: N/A

Character Plans: My plans for Severus are to terrify the living hell out of the children in Siren’s Port. Oh, of course, he’ll go about trying to get back to England, too. He might even take up some sort of job. Or maybe not. Maybe, in order to keep from being evicted, he’s Confound the apartment manager! Yes, that sounds like fun. I'll probably have to go about getting him some sort of alias. Hmmm. I'll have to think about a name!
Appearance/PB: For Severus’ ‘played by’, I’m going to be using icons of Alan Rickman, the man who played Snape in the movie adaptations. Severus is a tall man, a man who is not attractive in any way. He is as ugly on the outside as he is on the inside: he has ‘greasy’ black hair, a ‘long, hooked nose’, yellowing teeth, and black eyes. A link to the icons I plan on using is here.

Writing Samples

First Person Sample
To the former owner of one gray tom-cat wearing a red collar with a bell and a heart-shaped tag reading ‘Mr. Nibbles’: your animal is deceased. The remains have been disposed of.
I strongly suggest that the next time you acquire a beast, you take better care to keep it in your dwelling, as well as instructing the creature to be wary of eating anything that might be lying around.

Third Person Sample Severus Snape had gone to bed later than usual that night, an uneasy feeling settled deep at the bottom of his stomach. It had put him off his supper even more than the disgusting company he was forced to keep. He had tried his usual solution of ignoring the problem until it went away, but not even the driest dissertation on the production of the simplest potions had been able to stave off the nausea. Unable to cure his stomach with tried and true methods, Severus had simply gone to bed.

And then he woke up, the annoyance of his stomachache having multiplied a thousand fold while he had slept. It had twisted through his spine, sending tendrils of agony curling around every nerve in his body. Not only that, but he was cold. Severus’s left hand snaked out from its resting place at his side, grabbing a spiky handful of frozen grass instead of the comforter he should have taken hold of.

That woke him up more than the chill of the frozen morning could have ever done. He sat up suddenly, dark eyes opening wide as he looked around the grassy field he’d woken up in. Severus blinked, his hands resting in his lap.

He did not know where he was and if that wasn’t disconcerting enough, he was fully dressed. That meant that someone had not only snuck into his quarters and removed him from the comfort of his own bed and placed him into a strange field, but they had taken the time to remove his sleeping clothes, find his normal attire, and dressed him in it. How had this happened?

Severus put his palms to his forehead, attempting to push away the headache so that he could think of what he should do next. Get out of this strange field that seemed to be some kind of abandoned sports arena, filled with disgusting graffiti instead of athletes performing whatever mindless tasks that was required in their foolish game. Severus wasn’t sure which option would have been worse at this moment. He removed his hands from his forehead, placing them on the ground so that he could push himself to his feet. It was a difficult task, one that every muscle in his body screamed out in protest against, but he did it anyway.

His knees wobbled before finally locking into place to keep him upright. Severus turned his head to the side slowly, ignoring the creak of aching tendons. Severus would leave this strange place, slowly and carefully. He could not dismiss the theory that this might have been a plot set up by the Dark Lord… or, worse, by the misguided members of the Order of the Phoenix. He would have to check each dark corner and alleyway carefully before he found a safe place to create a base of operations.

As he walked, Severus did not bother to look down at the ground behind him. If he had, he might have noticed the odd little ethereal deer that was following at his heel like a faithful dog.
