GoDaddy Stopped Sanctions Against #Iran

More than a year back I wrote a post to reveal how Godaddy has restricted its web servers in a way they are not reachable from Iran, and It was considered as a part of sanctions against Iran and Iranians.

Today I’m truly glad to receive a confirmation via Twitter that GoDaddy has stopped these restrictions.

I thank Godaddy, specially for announcing this update publicly.

I also thank Collin D Anderson ( @CDA )  and NIAC (@NIACouncil) for following the updates about the sanctions and internet restrictions all along.

How to Download & Paste a Metallic Set of #IconFonts on Your Wall?

I was just watching the ThinkTank HangOut  that WPthintank has organised and  Amazingly find out Matt Mullenweg has pasted a set of  metallic IconFonts on his wall 🙂

Matt Mullenweg Icon Font FontAwesome

At the first sight I thought the Icons are by FontAwesome then but with a closer look I realize the number of icons is much less than the FontAwesome collection, My second guess was that Matt has download the IconFonts from Genericons which is a recent Automattic Portrayal. Well they are, The icons on the wall behind Matt are identically looking like Genericons!

Internet Defense League member; Cat Signal Feb 11 we fight back against NSA spying

Internet Defence League latest NewsLetter:

day fightback internet defence league

Dear Internet Defense League member,

Cat Signal! Feb 11 we fight back against NSA spying.

Two years ago Internet users rose up and won the fight against SOPA and PIPA. One year ago, internet activist Aaron Swartz, who was a leader in these protests, tragically took his own life. In celebration of our huge win against SOPA and in memory of Aaron, we are helping coordinate a mass day of protest against mass surveillance to take place on February 11th.

It’s called The Day We Fight Back. This Tuesday, more than 4,000 websites will host banners urging people to call/email Congress to oppose mass government surveillance. Since the day Snowden blew the whistle on the NSA’s cynical abuse of the Internet we’ve been building a mass movement of Internet users to meet government surveillance head on. On Tuesday, the Internet will show its power to defend itself from threats once again.

If you’ve already got the Internet Defense League’s “all campaigns” code installed, you’re all set! The “cat signal” will be raised at midnight on Feb 11th.

Will you join? Click here to get the IDL code for your site.

We’ll demand that legislators

1) Pass the USA FREEDOM Act, which would move us in the right direction and restrict some of the spying.

2) Defeat the so-called “FISA Improvements Act”, which would entrench — and potentially expand — NSA spying.

3) Create additional privacy protections to protect the human rights of those outside the U.S.

4) End the NSA’s subversion of encryption and other data security measures.

Click here to stand up with thousands of other websites on The Day We Fight Back.

If you don’t have a website, you can still tell the world you’re taking on the NSA. Post on social media, make and share a meme, link to a NSA-related story, or organize a protest. Anything you can do helps, and if you tell us about it by replying to this email, we’ll help spread the word.

For years, the NSA has exploited secret legal interpretations to undermine our privacy rights — thus chilling speech and activism, and thereby threatening to subvert the very underpinnings of our democracy itself.

Now the time has come to once again fight back against mass surveillance. Are you in? Click here to get the code for your site.

Stay tuned after The Day We Fight Back — we’ve got the groundwork laid for another massive effort that will keep the pressure on and throw a wrench in the NSA’s plans like never before.

If you just want to get the code for The Day We Fight back, and not the IDL all-campaigns code, get it here.

For the Internet,

P.S. If you are part of the IDL’s twitter army (meaning you signed up with your twitter handle when you joined IDL, and authorized us to tweet out at key moments) we’ll be activating the twitter tool for this too to amplify the Cat Signal, so expect to see a tweet on Feb 11th! If you want to opt-out, just go to your twitter settings.
