Sharing and Permissions

With The Attendant, you can easily share access to your pool and set limits on what each user can do.

To manage sharing, go to the Permissions option in the hamburger menu. Here, you can view all existing shares and add new ones by tapping the “+” button at the bottom of the screen.

When first creating a share, you’ll be prompted to enter in the email address of the person you would like to share your pool with.

You’ll also be asked how long should the pool be shared, and what level access this person should have.

Access level limits which controls, pump speeds, temperatures, and settings the person is permitted to operate or change.

The Attendant supports three levels of access when sharing your pool with additional users.

  • Administrator Access gives the shared user the ability to change any pool configuration options and use all pool controls without any restrictions. (It is recommended that you only have one account setup this way for your pool and that is typically the one you started with.)
  • The default level of access is the Full Access option.  This option will grant the user access to all controls on the pool without any restrictions but does not grant the ability to change the site configuration, including schedules and chemistry settings.
  • The last option is the Partial Access option.  With Partial Access, you can really fine-tune user access to specific pool features as well as defining how much control for each – like the maximum temperature for a heater, or the minimum speed for a water pump or feature.

With all shares, no matter the access level, you can specify how long this person should have access. If you choose to use this feature the users access will expire at specified date and time.  (The time of course being local to the site.) In our example above, this person will have access to “My Home” starting right away with no expiration.

If you’d like to change the start or expiration time, simply uncheck the option, and you’ll be prompted to select a new date and time.

Once you are finished with setting up the share, press Save.

The Attendant will then send them an email letting them know that you have shared your pool and that if they haven’t already they can download the app from the App store or the google play store, or continue to the App.

Once they have downloaded the App and registered a new account, they will be prompted at the top of their App that a site is being shared with them. Tap Review.

After they tap Review, they will then be prompted with the actual Share request. Tap Accept.

Once you have tapped Accept, the home screen of your App will reappear and you will be prompted with an Alert saying Successfully accepted!
