Hey there, Polychromatic Party People--

The mods here, posting with a slightly different account to better facilitate the poll.

Our first poll regarding the posting system has closed. The community based format has won, however this is not the end of our decision making process for POLYchromatic!

As mentioned in the previous post, because the "hybrid system" option was suggested after the polling had already begun, we will put the hybrid community system up against the more customary community-based format as promised for majority ruling.

The hybrid community format would mean that all players who choose to use the hybrid option would need to make at least a copy of their character's Network post and put it in the community and tag accordingly with their character's name and canon. Players may accept replies and comments to their post on the community entry or may provide a link to a character journal where the player will accept replies and comments.

Naturally, a community-based format would mean that Network posts and all comments are made and stay in the community.

For both options: phone posts and personal HMD posts will still run business-as-usual in character journals and would not be posted to the community.

Each format has its pros and cons worth considering. We encourage players to read each and consider them thoroughly.

As of January 15th, Polychromatic is officially open on Dreamwidth. With no posting format decision in place while voting continues, we welcome players to use the Polychromatic reading list until we announce the chosen system. We will make the final announcement on Dreamwidth in our moderator announcement community, That Rainbow City.

This poll will be open for three days--until January 17th at 11:59pm EST. As before, if you are having difficulty with Livejournal, you may email us (polychromatic.mods@gmail.com) your response to this poll.

View Poll: #1810867

Thank you, POLYchromatic.
We said majority rules in the last poll post, that still stands and you can keep voting between the three options of a community system, a journal system, or no preference. The neutral vote is not a weak vote! It means you are happy to work with whichever system wins and that's a legitimate group within this game. We would however prefer you vote than to not vote at all so we the mods can get a better picture of the entirety of the game. This neutral option arose due to the fact that we were made aware of people not voting at all for the previous poll regarding the move from Livejournal to Dreamwidth.

Because the hybrid system was proposed after the opening of the poll we will be doing a run off vote based on the winning system. Therefore, if a community based system wins we will be doing a run off between a pure community system and a hybrid community system. If a journal based system wins we will be doing a run off between a pure journal system and a hybrid journal system. A hybrid is a compromise meant to utilize the format of one system while still allowing players to somehow utilize the benefits of another.

However we promised that gameplay would officially occur on Dreamwidth on January 15 and we do not want to halt gameplay in any way. Therefore depending on tonight's results we will roll out a run off poll that will also be open for the same duration of 3 days. During that time which will overlap with the official reopening on Dreamwidth, we ask that you use the poly_chromatic community reading list to play until the run off results come in. After the run off poll closes, you'll still use the community reading list until we make an announcement that will outline all the changes based on the results.

With that said we want to reiterate that you can change your vote in the current poll here, knowing that there will be a run off between the majority winning system and its hybrid partner later on. This post outlines as many pros and cons we could find based on our own knowledge and what was discussed by other players for both journal and community systems.

You can continue submitting applications normally until the closure of the open application week this Sunday but please be aware there may be a delay in processing them while these polls go on. For that we apologize ;-;

Hello, Polychromatic!

Consider this an addendum. As per some discussion on our previous post, we have decided to make a list outlining some of the pros and some of the cons relating to each game format along with an examination of the proposed optional "hybrid system." We gleaned with information from the ongoing conversations about the different formats in our previous post, so we may not have covered all the pros or cons. If you know of some issue, pro or con, that is not addressed here, please leave a comment. We can add it to these lists.

We have also received word that one can edit or change one's vote in a poll until that poll closes. The current poll is open until tomorrow at 11:59 PM EST. We hope this information will be useful to anyone who is still debating about these changes. Regardless, we hope that everyone can accept the results of this poll and the transition from LJ to DW with grace and understanding. We will do all we can to facilitate this move.

Journal-Based Game System
Pros:
Increased personalization; the journal functions according to the preferences of the player, not by any community rules
Players maintain control of individual posts and comments
Players maintain control of individual journal styles
Entries and comments can be taken with a journal if the character is dropped
Individualized tags within one's journal
Players may monitor the game's member list via the main community and avoid any friend add/remove upkeep
All journal posts, community posts, and announcements can appear on one's reading [friends] list
A unique mode of RP organization

Cons:
Ongoing add/remove list upkeep
Players must assist moderators in add/remove list upkeep
No centralized organization
No gamewide archive or record
Two-step friending process on Dreamwidth; significantly different from Livejournal's friend-add process
Journals must completely public in order for all players to see all posts; some risk of loss of privacy
Entries and comments can be taken with a journal if the character is dropped
Some risk of loss of comments if a journal is deleted or locked
Some risk of loss of entries if a journal is deleted or locked
Players must monitor, track, or follow any other associated communities for announcements and notices
14 day/1,000 post limit imposed by Dreamwidth reading [friends/members] lists

Community-Based Game System
Pros:
Presently a popular mode for RP organization
Improved organization of the game via tags for characters and canons
No ongoing add/remove upkeep; members post to the community only
Creation of a game archive because individual posts and comments are retained by the community
Easier access to threads in which your character participated via game archive or tag system
Journals can be used in more than one game; journals do not need to be Poly only or OOCly filtered to Poly members only
Access to the community removes the 14 day/1,000 post limit imposed by Dreamwidth reading (friends) lists

Cons:
Decreased personalization; posts must adhere to the community's rules and will appear in the community's layout
Players lose individual control over entries and comments
Players lose individual control over journal styles
Individual entries and comments cannot be retained and taken with a journal if the character is dropped; leaving the game means leaving one's writing
The entire archive disappears if the community is deleted or locked; no individual retention
Players viewing the main IC community only would be responsible for monitoring or tracking any other communities for announcements or posts; the posts from these communities would not appear in the main community
Players must assist moderators in maintaining the tag system

Currently there is also a proposed "hybrid" system which may serve as a compromise between journal-based and community-based.

If the game were to change to community-based, this hybrid system would be entirely optional. Players may choose to use this system or not, as they prefer. However, all HMD, contact, and phone posts would be kept in individual journals and not on the community.

All players would be required to post at least a copy of a character's Network entry on the community along with that character's identifying tag(s).

The posting player can then choose:

→ She or he may have any comments for that entry and any replies to those comments appear in the community.

→ He or she may provide a link to a character journal where other players may leave comments and where the player will reply to those comments.

You can see an example, created by one of our players, of this system here: http://sausage.dreamwidth.org/

As regards this system:

"Hybrid" Posting System
Pros:
An optional system that provides a compromise between community-based and journal-based systems
A unique mode of RP organization
Increased personalization; the journal functions according to the preferences of the player, community rules apply to the community posts
If a player uses this system, she or he can maintain control of individual journals and comments
If a player uses this system, he or she can maintain control of individual journal styles
If a player uses this system, she or he can continue to use individualized tags on the character's journal
No ongoing add/remove list upkeep; members post to the community as well as an individual journal if the player chooses
Entries and comments can be taken with a journal if the character is dropped if the player uses this system
Creation of a game archive because individual posts and comments are retained or copies of individual posts are retained with a link to comments if necessary
Creation of a personal archive because individual posts and comments can be retained in the individual character journal
Journals can be used in more than one game; journals do not need to be Poly only or OOCly filtered to Poly members only
If a player uses this system, there is the risk of only partial loss of writing/archive if the community is locked or deleted because one can retain at least one's own writing
Access to the community removes the 14 day/1,000 post limit imposed by Dreamwidth reading [friends/members] lists

Cons:
Some risk of loss of comments (but not entries) if a journal is deleted or locked
Some risk, therefore, of a loss of part of the game's archive if a journal is deleted or locked
Players viewing the game via the main community only would be responsible for monitoring or tracking the other associated communities for posts or announcements
In some circumstances, players would be required to click a link to a journal rather than the "reply" link in the community
In some circumstances, players must remember to post both to the community and to a journal and provide a link from the community to the journal
Players must assist mods in maintaining the tag system for the community

We would also like to point out that it is possible to maintain a personal archive of nearly all of one's comments via LJ/DW notification in Gmail or another email service. If one does not delete a notification, one can preserve most all of one's commenting record in a searchable form via Gmail or other email service (we mention Gmail in particular because of its large storage limit and search capabilities).

We understand that the debate about this potential change is becoming very heated and very emotional for some people. There are pros and cons for any game organization system and we admit that a great deal of personal preference is involved. However, we hope that everyone can, at the very least, try to come to a compromise regarding any change that may come to the game. Certainly, moving from LJ to DW is a change to the game itself.

Regardless, the City's clock will tick on--!

Hello one more time, Polychromatic!

Voting on our gamewide poll is closed.

The majority of votes were in favor of moving Polychromatic to Dreamwidth.

Therefore, Polychromatic will be moving from Livejournal to Dreamwidth.

And the mods agree that, given Livejournal's recent difficulties and potential future changes, this will be the best course of action for the game.

The move will be taking place on Sunday, January 15. On that day, posting will officially move from LJ to DW.

Furthermore, we are waiving activity requirements for January because of this move.

However, because this is such a change, we have decided to revisit a topic of discussion--namely, should Polychromatic operate in a community-based or a journal-based posting format?

There are pros and cons to each format--journal-based posting allows one to keep one's own content even after leaving a game, but community-based posting eliminates the need for an add/remove list, &c. Please give both sides due consideration and vote in the following poll. We would like you to decide as regards this change. The majority will rule in this poll as in the other.

This poll is open until Friday, January 13th.

View Poll: #1809839

As before, while we would prefer you to use this poll, you may also contact us by email (polychromatic.mods@gmail.com) with your response if LJ is giving you difficulties of any sort.

A few more things:

→ Please join [poly_chromatic], [tampered], [poly_tldr], and [thatrainbowcity] with your character journal(s). These will be our main communities on DW. (Alas, the name "polychromatic" was already taken by a personal journal! How can this be? Also! if the mods of poly_crack would like to set up a crack comm for Poly on DW, please do. That's all up to you, but spread the word if you create one!)

→ This poll is still on-going, but you may go ahead and post in your DW journal if you would like, but please be aware that some players may only be checking LJ. We certainly encourage crossposting from DW to LJ for the time being. We know the game is kind of on hold while the move is going on. We are working on importing our communities and getting everything set up as we'd like. Moving is something of a gradual process, but we would like to have at least the basics completed by the 15th.

→ We recommend that everyone use poly_chromatic's members list for the time being to keep up with any character posts that may be made on DW. Once this poll closes, we will either rebuild the add/remove list or open poly_chromatic for posting with character journals (and we will be using [thatrainbowcity] for mod posts and announcements). Please be aware that if the game stays journal-based, it may take a day or two for us to rebuild the add/remove list and you may have to use the member list for a little while after January 15th.

→ If you are going to be using a journal on DW with a different username than the one you have now, please reply to the first comment in this post with both your old and your new usernames. Please do not reply if your journal name is the same on both sites.

→ Please comment to the new [Taken List] with your character(s). This will be a fresh start and will help us to update the Taken List.

→ Please bear with us while we work on making these changes. We will do our best to get everything up and running as soon as possible.

We will also be making another post here in POLYchromatic and mirrored on the Dreamwidth equivalent (poly_chromatic) with the results of the poll, what those results will mean, and a few final notes and suggestions before the 15th.

Thank you, POLYchromatic! We'll see you on the other side!

Hello again, POLYchromatic!

As we announced late last month, in response to the recent changes (and potential future changes) at Livejournal, this post is our official gamewide poll to determine whether POLYchromatic should move from Livejournal to Dreamwidth. It's majority rules on this poll and the results of this poll will determine whether we move to Dreamwidth or stay on Livejournal.

If the decision is made to move, we will make several announcements relating to the details of moving. The move will not take place immediately after this poll closes.

We also chose Dreamwidth because of Dreamwidth's importer tool that will allow us to import the game's communities and our mod journals as they are.

Please understand that this would be a permanent move. Even if Livejournal reverts its Release 88 code sometime in, say, March, we would not be able to move the game back to Livejournal. If the decision is made to move, we would stay at Dreamwidth regardless of what Livejournal might do.

This poll will be open from now, Monday, January 2nd, 2012, until Sunday, January 8, 2012.

View Poll: #1808013

Please note: we know a lot of people are having issues with loading and viewing Livejournal right now--because of technical/connection issues as well as medical issues. We would prefer that you use this poll if you can but if you (or someone you know) can't use this poll for whatever reason, you (or they) can email us at polychromatic.mods@gmail.com with a response to this poll.

Please feel free to spread the word on this poll (and the alternative means of contact). We know a lot of people aren't checking Livejournal as much as they used to for any number of reasons, but we want to hear from as many of you as possible--this includes anyone on hiatus.

There will be no curses this week while the poll is going on and the January curse calendar will be released after this poll closes. Applications will still be processed as usual.

After this poll closes, we will announce the results of this poll in another post along with any other news, details, or announcements.

In the meantime, we strongly encourage you to continue posting and playing here at POLYchromatic.

Thank you, POLYchromatic!

This is Caru, also known as robot_mod, posting with this account because it can create polls.

Hello POLYchromatic--

First off, Poly: please have some .giftastic glomping animated Miyazaki love. Because we all probably need it and because our love is eternal♥

All right, so, as you know LJ is presently kind of a clusterfuck. You know it, we know it, everyone knows it.

And, as you may already know, activity requirements have been waived for December.

Also, we mentioned a plot for January on our December curse calendar. Due to...the clusterfuckery, we're going to be postponing that plot for the present time.

Now, on to some serious stuff:

At the moment, lot of LJRP games are thinking of moving due to that selfsame clusterfuckery and drastic changes on Livejournal--especially to Dreamwidth, but also to InsaneJournal. We thought we'd come out with our stance at the moment:

We, the mods, do know that moving is absolutely an option in response and in regards to these recent changes at Livejournal. We are prepared to take that option and permanently move to another journaling website if it seems that that is going to be the best decision for the game. We already have communities reserved around which the game could be built after moving to a new website (at present, we have communities set up at Dreamwidth).

We know that many people are both comfortable and uncomfortable with the prospect of a move like this and we completely understand. It makes us pretty anxious too. And we would, of course, be concerned about losing players or details or parts of the game in such a process.

While we are currently discussing the details that would go into managing a move, and are making some preparations, we would like to hold off on making a decision regarding actually moving until January.

The combination of holidays + the recent changes is kind of a doozy and we'd like to sit tight for a little while if you can bear with us for a little while longer.

Come January, we will open up discussions regarding the possibility of moving based on any changes and/or corrections Livejournal has made (or lack thereof) in addition to any changes they might make in the future. Until then we hope that you can and will continue to play at Poly on Livejournal. We are absolutely aware of the possibility of such an undertaking and we're discussing the issue and everything we do is in the game's best interest.

For now, we very much encourage you to find and share any other workarounds or solutions you've found to combat these distinctly unwelcome changes.

Polychromatic and its clock will continue to tick on...!

Special December Activity Announcement

Dear POLYchromatic Citizens,

As you are no doubt aware... LJ has changed. We know a vast majority of you, (and the rest of the LJ RP community), is not happy with these changes. With the difficulties navigating pages, the lack of subject lines, and the issues people are experiencing, along with just the general dissatisfaction that is not an RP Drive's best friend, we will be waiving Activity Check for the month of December.

Holiday madness also being what it is, take this time to relax, let's sit back and see what LJ does in response to the mountains of feedback they have no doubt received, and regroup in January when AC resumes.

Of course, we encourage those willing and able to fight the good fight and keep playing! But if this recent debacle has thrown you for a loop, your holiday season is busy, or you're just staring at the site going "why, LJ, why", then never fear. Your AC is covered for December. ♥

Have a Happy Holiday Season & a Happy New Year!

This event's coming to an end pretty soon, how so, you might wonder? If you haven't already guessed it there is an additional way to reverse the effects of this Hallow's Eve event. You've seen some classic standards and creative firsts here but did you know if you take out the original then everyone turns back to normal? Maybe you saw it, maybe you haven't, but the Deities want Captain Space dead or alive. Well not dead because he kind of sort of is already, bound and gagged will do, in one piece not required. There's a prize involved! But let's talk about how to go about getting the Captain first.

Please volunteer one of your characters to be in the running for capturing Captain Space.
character name :: character series :: lj name

You may NPC all or none of your characters engaging him in combat but there will be only one who succeeds in capture. The winning character will be chosen at random through a generator. Once that character has been generated, the player of said character is free to decide how the capture occurs and yes, if it's IC to do so, that character can capture Captain Space as a team. The capture would have to occur by Saturday and Captain Space must be brought to the Deity Office before midnight, ie. the end of the event! we won't be logging the capture but we're open to answering questions you might have about how to proceed in order to handwave.

Characters do not need to have any super powers to make this work.

The Prize? Three one-up mushrooms. Yes. Literally three palm sized mushrooms. These mushrooms basically allow any character to return to life after being killed without resulting in City Death. Each mushroom has a one-time-use-only capability. The Deities have never put a price on these mushrooms but considering their rarity they are highly valuable. The Deities have offered this type of mushroom only once before, but if you don't remember the cursed bear that's okay the past event has no bearing on this one!

We'll be taking names until 12pm Friday, October 28! So volunteer volunteer volunteer! Do it for your City, citizens.

You can do this!

→ To reverse the on-going monsterification of their friends and neighbors, characters will have to destroy the monsters by the customary means--stakes, fire, cutting off heads, etc. The monsterfied character will not die but will return to normal after (no promises about difficulty or a lack of pain, though).

Here's a list of examples for you to run with, and feel free to come up with more: stakes through the heart for vampires, fire for witches, silver bullets for werewolves, a headshot for zombies, an exorcism for ghosts or demons, an incantation or an unwrapping for mummies, overdoses of sodium for aquatic monsters (wait, what?)... You're welcome to play with any means of monster death or destruction you like, whether traditional or new. Monsters of the same species might not all have the same weaknesses. Monsters and monster-hunters, work it out and have it!

Stay tuned for a few final details about returning characters to their normal states at the end of this event. Characters can stay as monsters for the whole event, if you so choose, but there will be a way to return them to normal at the end of the event. (Killing them will just speed things along, you see.) The City has enough monsters already and we wouldn't want to upset its delicate ecological balance.

Please remember that this event has a Death Exemption attached for all characters either monsterfied, de-monsterfied, or killed by a monster.

And furthermore--beginning Wednesday night and continuing through to the end of the event there will be a full moon over the City. It won't wax or wane. It will always be full, all night, every night.

Get to work, City! You have to slay your friends to save your friends! But be prepared because there may be more to this than meets the eye...

Happy Halloween~!!

Also, just for fun, allow me to share with you one of my favorite creepy Halloween movies: Viy (or Spirit of Evil) (link is for part 1 of 4), a Russian film in 1967 based on a story by Nikolai Gogol. The monsters in this movie are some of the creepiest and the best and more surreal than most any I've ever seen anywhere else. It's an underground classic. Enjoy~

How you interpret the nature of the beast is up to you. You may have your character's mental state changed into believing he or she always was a monster or they can maintain their original states of mind and frrreeeeak out over their transformation. The sky's the limit here which is all we can really say for now other than yes some monsterfied characters can create other monsterfied characters (vampire siring, zombie bites, etc), yes there will be a way for characters to return to normal (dramatically, violently, comically, and/or casually), and yes this event has a Death Exemption for all characters either monsterfied or killed by a monster. Characters who are already canonically a vampire or werewolf and what not have the option of becoming completely living breathing and vulnerably human for the duration of the event.

There will be more information about why this is happening and what the exact means of reversal are closer to the start of the event! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask and feel free to discuss or plot potential monsters here ♥

The final inactivity list will end up on the add/remove page anyway.

INACTIVE

HIATUSED

RECLAIMED

SECOND STRIKE

4llth3just1c3
aailes
bloodycinematic
braveasalion
concitato
conductyourself
containslorelei
coolestsoul
dance_of_hope
derpioso
evenwithpower
eyes_ab1aze
feellikejumping
femininehermes
forgetspants
foxtaming
greatergone
groovydream
hatersbehatin
heliolatrous
hemocidal
inthefrontline
ipingall
jesusing_clown
kickapow
laughs_for_two
likeagoodson
lovethyfather
ms_marycontrary
notaqueenbee
notastepford
o_tea_p
pyromatics
queens_guarddog
rejuvenated_sun
richest_heart
secondcoolest
sinandservitude
starfollowing
tessenwarrior
umathematic
wishsrequiem
worstson

//new activity policy//

Please note that we have written a new policy with regards to maintaining an active character at POLYchromatic:

Players who have not officially dropped a character but have actively removed all association with POLYchromatic [such as defriended all other characters, removed communities, locked all poly-related entries, etc.] from the character journal they use in the game will be considered to have dropped this character from POLYchromatic. The character will be made appable immediately.

We are not actively monitoring every player's journal for this offense. We will take action only if a member of the community reports it to us. This is considered an activity offense so players can use this link to tell us about it: Inactivity Issues. As always your identity remains anonymous--but you can't comment anonymously!

Although we do our best to solve these issues we want to emphasize how important it is that players try to contact each other first. We greatly prefer an official drop over a removal.

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy please let us know here.

What's up, POLYchromatic?

...not LJ, necessarily--unfortunately.

So we have a quick announcement here in that regard:

We're coming up on the end of the month and, therefore, Poly's monthly activity check. However, because of the recent DDoS attacks on LJ and the problems those have been posing for, well, everyone on LJ--

We have decided to waive the activity requirements for July.

In other words, you have already made activity, no matter what, even if you couldn't make a single post due to this DDoS downtime. You and your characters are fine, so don't fret about making activity.

But there are a couple of specific details:

→ If you reclaimed a character at the end of June and promised three posts for July, we will now expect those three posts to come in August. (If you promised three posts for July and three posts for August, we will expect three posts in August and three posts in September.) Basically, everything has shifted with this "clean start."

→ Hiatuses declared for July will not "transfer" over into August--unlike posting requirements. If you were on hiatus for all of July with an intention to return in August, please do return! Your activity was covered for July as if you hadn't been on hiatus at all. But if you're back for August, you'll owe the usual two posts. Your July hiatus doesn't change or move. (If you are on hiatus for August or part of August, this is a different matter entirely, and please don't worry about it. This section applies only to players who were on hiatus for July with an intention to return in later July or August.)

Of course, we encourage everyone to post as often as they can or as often as they like. Posts are love~!!♥ And posts make the <strike>world</strike> Carousel go 'round. These are just the minimum activity requirements. And, at a time like this, everyone wants some Polychromatic funtiems, right? (I know I do.)

We also know that Grab Bag Weekend is this weekend and it may or may not work out for everyone. So if it doesn't come to pass, we're planning a second Grab Bag Weekend to make up for it in the first part of August (providing, of course, that this whole issue is resolved by then--we'll pull a Tim Gunn and make it work).

If this keeps up, we will update these notices as necessary, but this is how we're going to try and make this whole crazy thing work for right now.

We know LJ is up and down with all these attacks, so please feel free to spread this news around to other Polychromatids who may not be able to access this post. Signal boost and retweet and replurk to your heart's content.

If you have any questions, you can comment with them here or you're welcome to email us (polychromatic.mods@gmail.com). Commenting has been one of those up and down things lately, so if email works better at the moment, email away! We will do our best to respond, so long as we can get through.

Thank you, and keep your fingers crossed for LJ's servers!!

June Inactivity List

What's this? The Activity List Samurai is traveling around Japan like an Activity List Ronin! Good thing the Robot is here to fill in!

○ Monthly Repimping: CHARACTER REQUESTS!

○ You have seven days to reclaim a character on this list, and in return, you promise three posts minimum instead of two for the next month--that's this JULY.

○ For hiatus exemptions, I go off the Hiatus Notice Page, so, please, everyone, post there! poly_tldr is all well and good, but I don't remember every post there- if you did one, link me and I'll get you covered, but <blink>PLEASE</blink> use the hiatus post so I don't miss you.

○ I make mistakes. So if you're listed as inactive and shouldn't be, just comment saying so and I'll fix it, with my apologies.

○ If you've made the inactivity list twice with a character, (this also includes trying to use hiatus to cover more than one full month's activity), they're marked for removal in the "Second Strike" column. If you wish to reclaim a character in this column, comment and drop me an email (cateyed.crow at gmail) so we can talk about it one on one.

○ If a character on this list has been dropped, don't worry about it. The final inactivity list will end up on the add/remove page anyway.

INACTIVE

HIATUSED

RECLAIMED

SECOND STRIKE

booksmacking
born_nameless
eyes_ab1aze
forgetspants
hatersbehatin
inthefrontline
ipingall
notaqueenbee
notastepford
seiryuuswarrior
spiesonyou
srsbusinessk
toobad_sosad
wishsrequiem

A lot of quite heavy but calorie-free recent commitments have stumbled into my plate, and their mix ends up calling for a lot of juggling. RECRUITMENT is required to meet these terms.

The interested are to gather the following ITEMS [list pending] from upcoming venues. Each RESIDENT will have his or her choice of a reasonable REWARD for the FIRST item s/he brings in.

The RESIDENT to collect the most ITEMS over time will be FIRST to be sent to his or her home world.

Travel and unstable service will continue until ITEM collection and the ensuing TRANSACTION have been accomplished. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Further details available at: DEITY OFFICE, SQUARE ST.

- CITY INC.

...as the 'charming' deity message might reveal, Citizens are invited to give up their time, energy, strength and creativity and somehow gather a set of particular tokens available in unknown quantities in the visited worlds. Every day, characters will receive a deity message with a picture and description of the items sought in each world, but not with their locations. Thankfully, characters' network devices will come in handy for that purpose, as they will emit a white glow, or white noise when in the vicinity of Ye Good Ol' Loot.

For your reference, items / world + their whereabouts >>!

Day 1: Pigs in Space → the items will be energy crystals, trapped in either membrane cocoons or in circuit boards in alien areas. Heads up! Some of the aliens like their energy sources, and in some cases the latter's light might be what keeps nastier predators at bay (so be mindful about how you remove them!) Grabbing crystals from abandoned areas might be easier, but there is always the risk of getting a crystal that doesn't work. So, if you want to give your character the 'thrill' of ending up empty-handed...
Day 2: Clever Girl → stone eggs, littered among actual dinosaur eggs, in nests and lairs.
Day 3: World War Z → gasoline cans, a commodity to most Citizens, but a survival horror luxury. Characters can outmaneuver zombies or human refugees and run off with their stashes of goods. A lucky few might even find an abandoned vehicle or gas station - but are they really convenient goods, or baits set by zombies? All in all, mind the guilt trip, folks! These might be some poor survivor's last chance at a clean get away that you're sniping!
Day 4: Swash Swash Buckle Buckle → every pirate's got a treasure, and a few have ancient coins! These fine beauties can be found in ship captain's gold chests, on the captains themselves, perhaps on mermaids or other sea creatures, in ship-wrecked areas, or at the bottom of the ocean!
Day 5: One Fantasy to Rule Them All → medieval fare for medieval times: flint will be the order of the day. While bits and pieces can be found among pebbles, Citizens' safest bet is to hunt through the world residents' tools. As for the punishment for stealing... well, best hope these knights come with great chivalry.
Day 6: The World Next Door → possibly taking after a famous example, mecha armies and some of the robots under 'Tokyo''s patrols will be powered up by energy cores. Getting one's hands on those cores won't be the easiest task, but crafty Citizens can always try to infiltrate troops and armories, or take down some of the robots on their own!

Characters have all of 24 hours after their arrival to a new world to go about scavenging, or just exploring. Network devices will produce a (to some) familiar sound every ten minutes of the last hour, warning Citizens to make for the City, now, now, now. Or else.

A couple of rules about the wishes/whatnot:

It's basically one wish / item. If an entire group worked to get one item, the wish will only go to one of them (please work out whom among yourselves!)

A character can only get one wish in the course of the event, regardless of how many items s/he collects. However, the character who gathers the most items can win the deity-promised return home*, so please put down how many items your character has managed to snatch! (It's perfectly fine to keep replying to the thread as your character does so.)
* since no one wants to lose a character, there will obviously be a catch XD

Deities don't exactly care how Citizens get these items: steal them from the world or each other, all good!

Whether officially surrendered at the deity office or not, the items will disappear from their captors once the latter have brought them into the City (or to their traveling homes).

We're not asking for proof that the items were collected, but please don't make the gathering seem very easy! It's more about challenging your characters than anything else!

Reply to THIS THREAD within one week with the wish you'd like your character to get. We leave wishes up to you guys, but please keep them moderate and understand we'll step in if they seem too big. We'll get back to your comment with whether a wish is or isn't doable!
