[April 1.

April Fool's Day.

The Island has heard of this day, heard it from people past and present and hopefully in the future. You would think that, with the Island being the Island being a complete and utter whacko who springs all kinds of crazed and insane and out of the ordinary situations on the people and Pokemon that live on it, a day such as April Fool's Day would go down exceptionally well with a landmass that acts the fool. If you were thinking that, you thought wrong. The Island loves CHRISTMAS. The Island loves VALENTINE'S DAY.

Right now, at this present moment in time, maybe the Island could come to love April Fool's Day as well.

Eri has gone. Released his ownership. That is something known for certain; there was that conversation with Touko, that conversation with Soul, the ritual performed. Tina hasn't come back to reclaim what was once hers, either. The Island... is free. Free from being belonged by a Giratina. Free to do whatever it pleases, only increased tenfold. Or hundredfold. Or even millionfold because WHY NOT.

A cause for a celebration.

The first thing to happen is to transform the CMA. In a flurry of purple glitter, red and white shooting stars and pink smoke that smells faintly of raspberries, the CMA as people came to know it since the fifth of May, 2008 is no more. It's not a FIELD anymore. If anything, the CMA now closely resembles a PARK.

A park that is encircled entirely by a city.

A city that has every kind of building imaginable.

Smaller buildings, larger buildings, saner buildings, whackier buildings. All ripe for exploration, discovery and habitation.

That's not all the Island has done.

Bollards have appeared in random locations all across the terrain. They are simplistic and grey, standing roughly four feet tall and have a glowing purple swirl engraved on the top of them. Touching them will take somebody elsewhere on the Island. Azimuth Plain, Aurora Forest, Pivot Mountain, the Seven Lakes, Lake WTF... literally anywhere within the confines.

Down past the rocky landscape that surrounds Umbra Cave, a thick, unrelenting fog has appeared along the most southern edge. It can be touched, yet it cannot be removed no matter what the means.

Then there is the main thing.

With all of its shiptastic might, the Island has duplicated itself right down to the very last detail. While the original stays precisely where it was, the twin, per se, appears in a new dimension, yet still south of a Sinnoh. Perhaps this will help increase the population of humans back to how it once was. Perhaps. Perhaps. Time will tell, for sure.

With changes finished, that precise moment is sealed with a fireworks display. The sky is littered with every colour of the rainbow, scattered in all directions and forming shapes, figures such as past Islanders gone by, flowers, love hearts, you name it. The dazzling arrangement shows no signs of ceasing, either. It's going to remain for the rest of the night, to be enjoyed and cherished.

Finally, now that everything is settled and how it wants things to be for the time being, the Island speaks, a booming voice echoing over the fireworks;]

HEY GUISE! Enjoy the new changes because I love you all! Explore Monday City and the shiny looking new CMA!

[The CMA is a good place for announcements, right? Touko may not have been out and about very much at all since her arrival on the island, but even so, she knows it's a major activity hub.

Which is why she can be found in the CMA, riding on her Bouffalant and being fairly noisy. She wants to be a spectacle and attract attention. She has one doozy of a story, after all.]

HEY, EVERYONE!

This is pretty important, so listen up! The island spoke to me earlier, and it is not a happy camper! It's sick and tired of being "owned" by a Giratina, in particular. I don't know who exactly it wanted me to tell, so I'm just gonna tell everyone!!

[There are sounds. Heavy, plodding, irregular. They are unnaturally loud on the pavement of the CMA, as if whatever is making the noise is unaware of how to be stealthy. Or doesn't care. Or is too hurt to care. In this case, it's all three, and there's a sort of thud as a new figure collapses against the wall of the nearest building.

He sinks down, more exhausted and underfed than actually injured, the action drawing a soft groan from him. His dark gray eyes are almost shut, fluttering wide open repeatedly as he fights off any urge to sleep. His boots are covered in ash and ice, his gloved hands still shaking with the cold of wherever he came from. Wrapped up in layers and curled up against the wall of a building, he sets his jaw to keep his teeth from chattering and manages to fumble for a Poke Ball after a moment.

He'd ask where he was or what was happening or why it was suddenly daytime, but it's awfully hard to care when you're this tired and mostly he just clutches the Ball in his hands like awaiting an attack as he slowly waits for his breathing to return to normal. It's clear he's been running from the way he's breathing, and it'll take him a moment to gather his senses. Bother him? Offer help? Watch like a creeper? He'll be over here regardless, until his vision stops spinning.]

[It starts off with a rain. An early morning rain. It's pink and red and tastes of strawberries and cherries.

It finishes with the ENTIRE ISLAND being tricoloured. Red, white and pink. It's everywhere; the trees, the houses, the lake and the forest and even the surrounding ocean.

So. Islanders.

Go out and enjoy the day.

It's only Valentine's Day.

The Island's favourite day ~~along with Christmas but that's not until December so hush~~.

Be trusting here. There's no Cupids in hiding, waiting to shoot you with a love arrow as soon as you engage in conversation with somebody, anybody... man, woman or Pokemon...]

[ Well that was definitely unfair. She'll kick a little stone that happens to be next to her foot (kick as elegantly and gracefully as possible, mind you) in frustration. Girls aren't supposed to be that strong! Well, girls who aren't her. And definitely not girls who are a few years younger than her!

She sits down and gently pets her Purrloin- poor thing's fur is all messy from the battle. Don't worry, dear, we'll fix that up soon. When the others are finally back. Meanwhile, she can just take pleasure in the fact that if it was a fashion battle, she'd win it instantly. That girl had absolutely no taste in clothes. Well, maybe only a little bit of taste. Those boots weren't bad.

... But that's odd, it's been quite a while now since she started daydreaming and no one's showed up yet. ]

... Did they leave me? What do you think, Purrloin?

[ ... No, obviously not. The team couldn't just leave a pretty girl like her behind! And the only reason she lost was because today is her unlucky day, she'll totally win against that brown-haired girl next time.

... But ah, still no one. And now she can't even see that guy who was supposed to be standing closer to the exit. Or well, the entrance. That's weird. Actually, now that she thinks about it, this place doesn't really look like Pinwheel Forest anymore...

One who's got a natu in her arms and is blinking rather confused. But wasn't she just in the middle of talking with Lance and Janine over what to do about the Rockets in Johto?] Um... Wataru-kun? Anzu-chan?

This isn't the League or even near Sekiei Plateau. I think. Umm. [A look at the pokemon in her arms and the young woman makes a sad face. She doesn't even know what to do! This is just like when she became Champion last year, only she wasn't taken to a new place.

She's probably not going to get any icecream, either.]

It pours of thin air, as these things always do on Awesome Island, and rolling off the roof of one hut, alongside boulders and fist sized chunks of earth is one badly battered Leaf. She rolls down the pile, scrambling on her hands and knees to get away from the rest. But the fountain of dirt and stone that dropped her here stops even as she moves, and she only moves as far ahead as to find flat ground before collapsing.

She's breathing, and her eyes are wide open, thinking. But she needs a moment. Maybe two. Enough to convince her lead weight legs to move. Or her voice to work.]

This majestic hunter is slowly inching towards the poor pokemon, being the sneakiest a tiny, neon yellow spider-like pokemon can be.

[Edmond is sitting in the CMA, with his Gallade and Zangoose on either side of him. He hums a little, apparently he's busy with something... Oh, he's making little red crochet hearts? It looks like somebody is getting an early start on preparations for St Valentine's Day...

Anyway, it's been a rough while for him, but thanks to his new guests, which include a Team Magma-aligned version of May and a younger version of Maxie, he's been recovering. At least now he's not constantly inside his house and attached to his bottles like a drunk troll. He wants to be a better person for them.]

I hope somebody likes my hearts, Gallade... Do you think they look pretty enough? Because I plan to give away some.

[Gallade has a few completed hearts on his lap, and after carefully examining a few, he nods enthusiastically.]

Have a bitty Emmet. Well, sort-of - he is Emmet, and he is bitty, but he's also AU. He's just arrived, too, riding his favorite Venusaur, Bulby.
He hasn't even noticed the change of enviroment, he's busy just relaxing on said Bulby [eyes shut], the flower being used as a backrest. He's sad, but not really showing it.
And also, he's prime for bothering. Especially since he has no idea he's left the Olivine Beach yet. He is talking to his Venusaur as he walks - about something. Who knows, except for him? ~~spoilers: it's all nuzlocke-related~~]

Bulby - do you think he felt pain? He was sleeping.

Saaaaur. Venu.

I hope it did not hurt. That would be even sadder. Yup.

Snowy, snowy evenings

[Snow drifts softly from the sky, blanketing the ground with a few inches of cold white wetness. It's been falling all day, quite a lot has accumulated. Suicune is out playing in it! Never mind that she's dressed more for a summer picnic than a snow day, she's having fun.

Her bell accessory jingles as she drops to the ground for a snow angel and a quick break from running around. Yeah, she's playing all alone, but there's nothing wrong with that. She might play with you though! ...If her stick-in-the-mud of a not!brother doesn't drag her inside first. She doesn't feel cold, but even she can't stay out in the snow forever, after all. For now it's just playtime, though.]

HEY ISLAND. How do you feel about a sudden increase in the number of your fellow residents?

It was a peaceful day in the CMA until a big, round meeting table appeared out of nowhere, complete with messy piles of paperwork, all the people sitting at it, and, most importantly, a mountain of snackfood.

The (probably from Johto, going by their strangely color-coordinated clothing) unfortunate new Islanders get themselves together remarkably quick. Don't worry about giving them the newbie introduction spiel, they've already sent a select few over to the Pokemon Center to gather all the information they need. You can bother them if you'd like, though! They seem friendly enough. Putting that aside, however...

The snacks on the table are all in dishes of different colors, and they range from savory to sweet, but most of them are sweet. You're welcome to just waltz up and take some, no one will mind. In fact, that seems to be what everyone's doing right now. Unfortunately, some of that free food comes at the price of providing a day of entertainment for those on the other side of the 4th wall...

(1) Purple dish/Cake: Anyone who takes a bite of one of those lovely cakes will suddenly find themselves very sleepy, or just lazy. They might feel inclined to make other people do things for them, like drag them home or finish their snack for them.
(2) Indigo dish/Milk: Anyone who drinks any of the various flavors of milk on the table will become infatuated with another person (the one who tags them, or someone else), and possibly be very... enthusiastic about pursuing them. Whether that person is their usual type or not.
(3) Blue dish/Cookies: After finishing one of those cookies (chewy or crunchy), the person in question will become saccharinely sweet and nice to anyone and everyone. Even someone they hated before.
(4) Green dish/Juice: Those bowls, cups, and boxes of juice have been hastily covered by spare sheets of paperwork to keep the bugs off. Someone who takes a sip anyway will find themselves becoming extremely curious about everything (and everyone) around them. They might feel the need to know the answer to a question they were always wondering about, or something they never cared about before.
(5) Yellow dish/Noodles: Suddenly, the few who go for savory over sweet will feel the need to act like mother hens to those around them. Fix that tie, clean up those crumbs, ask them if they've been sleeping well, harass them about those things about their lifestyle that have always bothered you...
(6) Orange dish/Donuts: Anyone who eats a donut will suddenly become ~Fabulous~. Either behavior-wise, or just appearance-wise. Sparkles are optional.
(7) Red dish/Berries: Someone who eats one of those sweet berries will either become extremely detached towards the people around them, or extremely clingy. Whichever they're generally less inclined to.

(...by the way, Team members, eating from a dish the same color as the division you're in won't have any effect)

#02 New region means new quest

[This Red hasn't showed up much since his arrival to the island, has he? Well, since he learned there are new areas and Pokémon to meet, he went out on a new quest to explore.

He has been busy, and you can tell. The group is now at the beach: Pikachu is playing electric tag with a Plusle and a Minun, Lapras is surfing around with a family of Shellos and Gastrodon (both colors), and a napping Venusaur is working as a tree for a couple of hanging Wormadan.

And Red? Well, he's sitting on the sand, concentrated. He's drawing something with a stick... a map maybe? Only he knows. But what you can know, it's that you better take this chance to bother him before he leaves again.]

[Today is the big day! The big day on which this guy here is getting his own, brand new house. Now that he is CLEARLY AN ADULT and his parents are leaving, he needs to find his own home and embark on his own journey of life. By which I mean spend most of his time nerding over legends, occasionally make friends with ghosts and ~~get known as the crazy ghost guy~~ learn to use his psychic powers. That's what life is all about, right? Right.

Actually, the big day happened about a week ago, and while his new house took some getting used to (let's be honest), he is pretty sure none of his rooms look like what he's seeing right now. Actually, not even his backyard looks like this. And not even Ecruteak- okay, scratch that, no place he knows looks like this. ]

...What?

[Is he sleeping? Maybe he is. Maybe he should try to pinch himself- okay no, he isn't stupid enough to do that, he is more than sure he's awake. Yet the fact stands: here he is, standing in the middle of a giant field he's never been to and oh my god it's so huge it's pretty much bigger than anything he's seen before. Just what could THIS possibly MEAN?..
...
Clearly, it means that Ho-Oh is testing him.
Yes, that IS a good idea.
In his defence, Ho-Oh IS a legendary pokemon, and its powers just might include transporting people somewhere! _{Not that he's heard or read of anything like this, really.} Or well, creating illusions at least. That is more likely.

TL;DR: there is now a teen (who might look suspiciously familiar to some of you) running around CMA looking for some kind of... sign. WILL HE EVER FIND IT? (spoilers: no.) Feel free to shatter his dreams/try to explain what kind of a horrible place he's gotten to/PARTY TIMES/whatever you want!]

'Sup, Island! It's a surprisingly pleasant day out, so hopefully, you're out taking a walk. Why? Because anyone passing by the CMA is in for a treat, literally.

There's a big, long table set up with a myriad of delicate, painstakingly decorated desserts, giving off a fruity smell. All kinds of things can be found, from cookies to puddings to cakes, and for drinks there's whole bottles and mugs full of various berry juices and wines. It's all free for the taking, and judging by the reactions of other passerbys, it's actually not going to make you do ridiculous things like kiss the first person you see. Well, not unless you chug too much of that free alcohol or something...

Accompanying the table are two boys, maybe in their mid or early teens. They're new, and this sharing is their way of saying "hello" to everyone. Feel free to mingle amongst yourselves, or just wait around until one of them wanders over to greet you.

[There's a new face on the island! ...Sort of. It's a familiar face, but instead of being the face of a grown woman, she appears to be in her mid-teens.

She's carrying a very large stack of books (upon closer inspection, they appear to be based on mythology and religion), and doesn't seem to quite realize the change in scenery until she steps from the grass into the sand and looses her footing.

The books scatter, leaving the young miss Cynthia to pick them up. After she finishes gawking at the island, of course.]

...I didn't know Canalave had a place like this...

SUBWAY TRAINS DON'T "CHU CHU"

[That was an absolutely horrendous pun and I'm really sorry. Really.

ANYWAY. It's a new year, and with a new year comes a new attraction! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Ingo has finally gotten his most-desired wish. An Island Subway.

Dawn's Cafe in the CMA, previously closed, has been transformed into a building that should be familiar to anyone who's visited Nimbasa. The green building stands tall and proud and the flags flap in the winter breeze. Elsewhere on the island, staircases leading belowground have popped up out of nowhere.

More exciting, however, is the inside of the building. ~~And while the subway masters themselves might be exciting, that's not what we're looking at here.~~ The steps descend underground to a network of tunnels with trains that gleam under the ceiling lights. A signpost stands inside each building with a map depicting where on the island each subway line goes.

Ingo stands inside the main building, looking extremely satisfied. If you're quick enough you may even catch him smiling. He's looking over everything, and watching the subway trains come and go. He probably feels nostalgic.

However, the Island can't resist trolling the poor man, even now. So, should you board the trains, there might be some extremely compelling mistletoe hanging from the ceiling. Yes, it's just like the ferris wheel fiasco of last year! Island, it's not even mistletoe season anymore, so Ingo's unsuspecting! This is a low blow!

So. Enjoy, dear islanders! But be careful, as always.]

A moral conflict for the end of the year!

[No resolutions for the new year for this young man, nope! But still, something in him has changed. neverfollows has been a constant reminder of the terrible things he's done throughout the years and seeing his younger self torture the Chimchar he would eventually abandon was just too much to bear. Especially when this Paul suffered much more dire consequences for treating other Pokemon the way he did Chimchar.

Finally, Paul could no longer stand the sight of what his younger self was doing, and finally intervened by confiscating Chimchar from his younger self.

Now he's sitting on a log deep within the Aurora Forest area, surrounded by many of his Pokemon that he took with him. He's been here for a few days by now without leaving any sort of notice to any of his friends or loved ones in the CMA because Paul couldn't bring himself to explain the situation. It's sort of a sensitive topic; he prefers to avoid it whenever possible.

His eyes are glued to the Pokeball he pretty much stole from his younger self. He hasn't let Chimchar out yet, mostly because he's a bit afraid to do so. He knows what this Pokemon is capable of, and he knows he'll never be the one to control the power he once desired because Chimchar was never meant to be his in the first place. But he felt he owed it to Chimchar to at least try to do something to maybe, slightly, make up for what he had done to it and other Pokemon in the past.]

... Must be getting hungry by now, after all this time. But if I let Chimchar out, he... he's not going to trust me. It's been so long since...

[He looks down to the Mienfoo on his lap, still unevolved after all this time.]

... No. Even if I changed, this is something I can't ever atone for completely. It can't be me.

Though it's not always loved, the island would try this night, to make all happy, make everything right.

So-- boys, girls, and other-- gather with glee. The CMA has all sorts of presents, you'll surely wonder "Which one is for me?"

But don't be surprised, when you open your special box!, that all that's inside is a fresh pair of socks.]

[Silver has been a goddamn recluse since coming to the island. His time consists of planning, more planning, and occasionally taking the time to soothe (or be soothed by) his significant other. At first, the plans were fairly reasonable and fairly relevant. Then they started getting weird. Then, he ran out of possibilities for home and started planning for the island. There, of course, the possibilities were endless.]

[Then, they lost Ethan? Heart? ... the kid in the mess. Evidentially, the kid wound up buried in maps and an impromptu cleaning fest was arranged. Silver was not allowed to attend. Instead he's ~~sulking~~ brooding in the snow, with a lovingly hand-made purple and gold scarf that Kris knit, and a notebook. ... a notebook that he smuggled out, and is writing plans in.]

Let's see, if the island does wishes... [mumble mumble] ... a laser cannon... [mumble mumble] ... forces from Unova?... [mumble mumble mumble]
