LEVEL 1 / CAIB 1 EXAM PREP CLASSES

CAIB 2 EXAM PREP CLASSES

With a few years or insurance work under your belt (or sooner if you’re more ambitious), a Level 2 insurance license might be your next step. It let’s you work outside the brokerage as a self-employed producer with your own book of business or to take on additional responsibilities within your brokerage.

CAIB 3 EXAM PREP CLASSES

With a few years or insurance work under your belt (or sooner if you’re more ambitious), a Level 2 insurance license might be your next step. It let’s you work outside the brokerage as a self-employed producer with your own book of business or to take on additional responsibilities within your brokerage.

CAIB 4 EXAM PREP CLASSES

After you’ve been working in the insurance industry for a while and spent some time as a Level 2 licensee, it’s time for you to take the next step in your career. If you want to manage or start your own brokerage, you’ll need to get what’s called a Level 3 license. To do that in almost all Canadian provinces (aside from Ontario, Alberta & Quebec), you need to pass the CAIB 4 exam.

Unmatched Quality for RIBO 1!
"The quality of this learning course is unmatched. This course provides everything you need to pass the RIBO test and more. If it wasn't for this course I would not have got the e-mail today saying I am now a verified RIBO member. Not only is this course very user-friendly and easy to use, my mentor, Jack, answered all my questions I had with almost immediate responses even at ridiculous hours. I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking to get into the insurance broker industry."

Success in Alberta Level 1 & 2 Exams!
"I wasn't actually sure about my impression of the course until I actually took the Alberta Gen 1 exam. Once I went into the exam however, I found that everything you had provided through the course made it extremely easy to not only understand the questions that were asked in the exam, but to also answer them in a quick manner! Now that I have the Gen 1 course done, it only really made sense to go do the Gen 2 course through you as well. Thanks for everything so far!!!"
Devon S, Alberta

What's included in your course fees?

Each course comes with a simplified note package, lectures, practice questions/exams, access to the PNC Learning mobile app, and support from our course tutor team. Please refer to the specific course description pages to learn more. For relevant courses, it also includes certification to write the provincial licensing exam.

I don't have a background in insurance. Is this career a good choice for me?

Because working in insurance requires a license, most people don't have any insurance background when they join so you're on an even playing field. That is the great thing about this certification - there are no real prerequisites to be eligible. What matters is that you have the drive and motivation to get into this industry. We will teach you everything you need to know to start in this secure and high-paying career path.

What job opportunities and salary can I expect after passing a Level 1 exam?

The possible jobs and compensation are limitless as you can earn a combination of salary, commissions and bonuses and the job security is unparalleled. If you prefer a more stable role, you can work as an account manager or in a back office administrative role. If you like working with people or are more entrepreneurial, you can work in a sales role and even build your own book of business as an independent producer which you can sell later on. Eventually, you can start your own brokerage as well! No matter what you preferences or skillset is, there is a lucrative job for you in insurance.

As for salaries, here is what you can expect according to Salaryexpert.com & Ziprecruiter.com

Salaryexpert.com says that the average insurance broker in Canada earns $104,427/yr and in the average insurance brokers in Ontario earn a salary of $83,735/yr.

According to Ziprecruiter.com, insurance brokers in Alberta earn an average salary of $82,609/yr

In Texas, Indeed says the average base salary is $86,305 but that's just the base before benefits, commissions, bonuses and other incentives.

As you can see, this is a pretty well-paying job!

How much time does it take for a complete beginner to complete a course?

One of our biggest advantages is that we provide you great resources to help you get licensed as quickly as possible. You can expect to pass your exam within 3-4 weeks in most cases.

Can I complete your course if I have another job or am changing careers?

Yes!  Our programs are designed to make studying and passing easy for people exactly like you with busy lives. We support you with simplified and streamlined learning and support from our course tutors. Rather than spending hours trying to figure something out, just ask our tutors instead!

Which insurance license is the hardest to get?

Most people consider the RIBO 1 exam the hardest because it requires 75% to pass while others only require 70%. But the Level 1 exams are all multiple choice and designed to be manageable by anyone. The key will be in how you prepare. PNC Learning's RIBO 1 course teaches you everything you need to know to pass the exam in plain language, we provide you extensive tutor support and offer a pass guarantee to ensure we are with you every step of the way.

What is the best degree for an insurance agent?

One of the benefits of a career in insurance is that you don't require a degree to get licensed! However, degrees in business, finance, risk management/insurance, or marketing could be beneficial.

What is the difference between OTL, RIBO, and CAIB certifications?

An OTL is for insurance agents in Ontario. This license allows you to represent 1 insurer and sell their products. A RIBO license is for insurance brokers in Ontario that present and sell products for multiple insurance companies. CAIB, while used for licensing in other provinces outside of ON & AB, is mostly cosmetic. A CAIB designation is earned by completing all 4 CAIB exams and signals to employers and customers that you are an expert broker with advanced training.

Can I switch between different course bundles?

Yes, if you signed up for the wrong course by accident or end up moving provinces before you can complete the program, we can switch your course enrollment. Fees may apply on a case-by-case basis but reach out to us and we can get that started for you.

How do I choose the right insurance course for my career goals?

The right insurance course for you depends on what types of products you want to work with and what province you are in. Click here if you’re not sure which course is right for you.

If you want to sell specialized life or health insurance in Canada, you’ll need the LLQP license.
