Halállabirintus: Back To The Book Club
Posted by Luca on 2026-04-01
Halállabirintus (sabe) screenshotThere's room for a very last entry in the Commodore Plus/4 játékfejlesztő verseny 2025/2026: sabe joins the fight in the Assembly category, with his brand new game Halállabirintus (sabe).

This game's genre is an old favorite of the author since Aranyalmák's times, when he was a teen. And he's back to his ancient love, by creating an adventure on multiple choices, based on the homonym gamebook, Hungarian language translation by Éva Bukor of the original Deathtrap Dungeon written by Ian Livingstone.

It's not the first attempt to make a derivative game about Halállabirintus gamebook, there has been another one in 1991, which we all know as Test Of Hero, but this disk based prod surely appears to be quite a larger challenge. So, Hungarian sceners, time to check out the last entry of the compo. And for the non-Hungarians... Well, it's 2026, and onthefly translations are not sci-fi anymore!

Sandris!

Sandris screenshotDid you ever think "these pieces are too rigid" while playing Tetris? Then we have just the game for you!

Rachy/MX is here with Sandris! It's a Tetris-like game in which the falling pieces turn into sand. Connecting a single color from wall to wall clears lines and scores points.

You start out with only two colors, but the number of colors and the speed increases as you progress through levels. The game features two shape sets: Classic and Odd Bunch. The latter contains weird shapes and might behave surprisingly.

Be sure to check it out!

Galax Man!

Galax Man screenshotHaegar/Synergy is back with his new game: Galax Man!

The second entry to the Pure BASIC category of the programming compo, Galax Man is a neat little action game. Guide the titular character as they try to leave their space station through increasingly tougher areas. Collect the keycards, avoid plasma, and don't step on spikes. On later levels, to move the levers, you need the keycards with a matching color.

Enjoy!

Jungle Joe!

Jungle Joe screenshotWe met Joe last Xmas and he finally made it here: TRP/220V is back with Jungle Joe!

Jungle Joe is a unique adventure game where survival is not about quick reflexes, but about a cool head and foresight. Joe faces a perilous journey through the jungle, dark caves and ancient ruins, where every step counts and every mistake can be fatal.

Ladders, passages and suspension bridges open up the way for him, while enemies, traps and crumbling structures force him to stop and plan again and again. With limited resources, there is no room for rushed moves: only patience, good timing and a well-considered strategy can lead to success.

Jungle Joe combines the classic Commodore 64 atmosphere with modern, logic-based gameplay. This is not just action, but exploration - an adventure where every little step forward must be earned. The game is controlled with JOY2 or the Z/X/K/M/SPACE keys.

Randoom!

Randoom screenshotEpy is back with a new game: Randoom! The Programming Compo is heating up.

Play through 31 stages by catching the squares in the correct order. Sounds simple, but the fun of the game is the frantic gameplay due to the chaotic nature of the squares' movement. The game is very polished as we have come to expect to Epy, and has all the bells and whistles one could ask for.

Download it now and have fun!
