🎯Some useful takeaways from Lennart J. Broers following the WiFi NOW webinar. AI is set to reshape home Wi-Fi, but operators also need to improve the customer experience across the devices and gateways already in the field. That is where proactive Wi-Fi management matters. With #PRISME, ADB helps operators monitor and optimise in-home Wi-Fi performance today, while preparing for the networks of tomorrow. Read Lennart’s reflections below 👇
I just tuned into the WiFi NOW webinar, "AI will redefine home Wi-Fi," and it highlighted a massive reality check for our industry. Claus Hetting summarized the discussion perfectly: "We are currently looking at two extremes. On one side, next-gen chipsets are introducing Wi-Fi 8 and on-chip AI capabilities. On the other side, many European operators are still managing the everyday challenges of Wi-Fi 4 gateways." Here are my key takeaways: 1️⃣ The Legacy Reality: Despite cutting-edge tech from innovators like Qualcomm, recent Opensignal data shared by Andrey Popov shows that over 80% of the European broadband consumer market is still reliant on Wi-Fi 4 and Wi-Fi 5. The global memory price and availability crisis is not helping to speed up the migration to Wi-Fi 6 and 7. 2️⃣ The Wi-Fi Quality Gap: Consistent Wi-Fi quality (defined by Opensignal as "good enough for daily use") sits around 70% across most of Europe. Interestingly, this isn't directly tied to whether the home has a fiber connection or not—the bottleneck is the in-home wireless network. 3️⃣ The Future vs. The Present: Next-generation solutions with on-chip AI capabilities (like those presented by Patrick Zhang) will undoubtedly revolutionize the market over the next decade. But for now, operators have to deal with the legacy. This massive share of older devices makes it more critical than ever for operators to have a robust Wi-Fi management solution. As Erik Søe-Pedersen highlighted during the session, tools like ADB's PRISME are essential for monitoring legacy devices and proactively driving up consistent Wi-Fi quality in the home today. Next-gen tech is exciting, but optimizing the hardware already in the field is where the real customer experience is won right now. What are your thoughts? Are you seeing a similar legacy bottleneck in your networks?

We'll be NEM Dubrovnik next week! From 8–11 June, the TV industry will come together in Croatia for four days of conversations around partnerships, trends, content, technology and the future of media across the CEE region and beyond. ADB’s Goran Poposki will be there, meeting operators, broadcasters and industry partners to talk about #Graphyne, ADB’s pay-TV management system. Graphyne helps operators run, manage and evolve modern TV services across devices, subscribers, content workflows and integrations, with the operational flexibility needed to keep services moving forward. If improving operational efficiency, service flexibility or multi-screen TV delivery is on your agenda, this is a good opportunity to connect. 🔵Tomorrow: join ADB, WiFi NOW, Opensignal, and Qualcomm for a live webinar on how AI is reshaping home Wi-Fi. Home #WiFi issues are still one of the biggest drivers of customer frustration, but the connected home is now too complex for static optimisation alone. This session will look at what needs to change, with current performance insight from Opensignal, chipset-level perspective from Qualcomm, and ADB’s view on how #AI can support more open, vendor-agnostic whole-home optimisation. ADB’s Erik Søe-Pedersen will challenges the idea that optimisation must be closed and proprietary. With open solutions like PRISME, ADB demonstrates how AI can analyse gateway behaviour, leverage environmental data, and continuously optimise performance—enabling scalable, vendor-agnostic whole-home Wi-Fi. 🔶Make sure you don’t miss it.🎯Tuesday 2 June 5 pm CEST / 8 am PST 👉Register here: https://lnkd.in/dEhExrNq #WiFi #HomeConnectivity #AI #Broadband #PRISME

Home Wi-Fi is now central to the broadband experience, but it is becoming harder for operators to manage well. More devices, more demanding applications and higher user expectations are putting legacy approaches to Wi-Fi optimisation under pressure. On Tuesday 2 June, ADB’s Erik Søe-Pedersen will join Claus Hetting of WiFi NOW, Andrey P. of Opensignal and Patrick Zhang of Qualcomm for a live webinar on how AI is redefining home Wi-Fi. Erik will share ADB’s perspective on open, scalable AI-driven optimisation, and how PRISME can help operators analyse gateway behaviour, factor in environmental data and continuously optimise whole-home Wi-Fi across real-world home environments. 🎯Register to join: AI will redefine home Wi-Fi on 🗓️Tuesday 2 June, ⏰5 pm CEST / 8 am PST - https://lnkd.in/dEhExrNq #WiFi #Broadband #AI #HomeConnectivity #CustomerExperience

Reporting from the final day of ANGA COM in Cologne, where Lennart J. Broers, Erik Søe-Pedersen and Goran Poposki have been meeting with operators, vendors, and partners across the broadband and connectivity ecosystem. Across the week, the conversations have been focused and valuable, with many centred on a shared challenge: how to improve customer experience while making service operations more efficient and easier to manage. 👉As Erik Søe-Pedersen reflected: “Several discussions also highlighted an increased industry focus on partnerships and ecosystem alignment, with vendors and operators showing openness toward new cooperation models and joint go-to-market opportunities.” That focus came through strongly throughout the event, as the industry continues to look at new ways to collaborate and support the next stage of innovation across broadband and pay-TV services. If you’re at ANGA COM, what conversations or themes have stood out most to you?
