Interests Meme

Conventions: This one will come as zero surprise to pretty much all of my flist. I adore going to sci-fi conventions. Why?: Meeting the actors of my favourite shows, meeting lots of amazing people with similar interests, meetin up with friends from previous cons, being able to be just as geeky as I want to be, random converations with strangers, dressing up, partying with friends, Jonathan Woodward ...yeah I could go on and on about it!

Drinking vodka: I'm Scottish, what can I say, we like our drink ;). Ok so vodka's more of a Russian drink, but I generally prefer it to our more traditional whiskey. Don't get me wrong, I don't drink it straight - that's foul - but mixed with some diet coke and ice cubes - perfect! (I suspect the proper fancy stuff tastes fine straight, but I'm a cheap skate)

ghosts of albion: Ghosts of Albion started off life as a BBC web animation series written by Amber Benson and Christopher Golden. Since then they have released 2 novels following on from the animations, "Accursed" and "Witchery". What I love about GoA: the gothic theme, the realistic characters, fiesty female characters, magic!, great comic elements, seriously sexy moments and the incredible writing talents of Amber and Chris combined. making cards: I've always been kinda arty, so card making was a hobby I came to pretty naturally. Things I like about it: relaxing, fun, creative, making cards that are perfectly suited to a specific person. What I don't like: spending too much money of materials!, running out of inspiration, making cards for boys - so much harder than making them for girls!

pink: The singer rather than the colour. I really like that she's a bit of a rebel and rather feisty. Her songs are great to sing along to.

snorkeling: I first went snorkeling during my first visit to Hawaii, just before I met Phil. Despite managing to slip on some ricks and smash my face up, it was so amazing that I couldn't help but get addicted... to the snorkeling, not the face smashing. Since that first time Phil and I have been snorkeling pretty much every holiday we've been on where we've had access to the sea. It's so peaceful swimming among the fish and sea turtles. If only I could live in Hawaii and do it every day!

the sims 2: The computer game that has taken over my life. It's actually my dad's fault. He bought me the base game and pets expansion and since then I've collected all the expansion packs bar one. What I love about it: the flexibility, downloading and using custom content, creating custom content (I totally made some Tragic the Saddening cards for my geeky sims), creating my favourite characters from TV shows and playing around with my favourite 'ships, seeing how the genetics work from generation to generation, the supernatural elements (vampires, werewolves, aliens etc), the fact that gay relationships are built into the game (yay for EA!), the silly surreal elements (grilled cheese aspiration, death by flies, the social bunny...), you may be piss poor but your sims can have huge, cool houses....yeah, as you can see I'm pretty damn addicted!
