Long entry and some pics!
My English paper is done, and I just have my capstone project to finish and I am done for the semester...no make that forever at UMR! I cannot believe graduation is Saturday! It is scary really. I will be the first person in my family to graduate college. I have worked so hard for this. I mean, nothing was ever given to me. My parents do not help me at all, they can't. I got this on my own. I am so happy! After Saturday, I can proudly say I have my bachelors degree! Then off the get my masters. I aim high, I know. I believe I can do whatever I want in life as long as I try for it. To think otherwise would be insane. I wanted to go to Stanford for graduate school (before deciding Real Estate Development was for me, not an M.B.A) and I had no doubts that if I worked hard, I could get in. Call me cocky, but it feels good to have confidence. I haven't always been like this, so it is nice.
This is kind of funny, I just have to share. My sisters boyfriend is a real ass. I try not to talk to him anymore, but it is hard sometimes. The other day, he said something about my step dad, and I said I didn't plan on inviting him to my wedding (we never really liked one another, my mom doesn't even like him anymore). Wade (my sisters boyfriend) said that was just wrong. he goes "I am the biggest asshole in the world, and I am invited to your wedding." I just look at him and say "umm actually, you aren't either. I told James we were not going to invite you..." The look on his face was priceless. He used to be considered family, they have been together for 15 years, but that ended when he slept with my sisters best friend and then treated her like crap. He is just lucky she is so naive, but I promise, one of these days, I am going to smarten her up and get her away from him!
He pissed me off. Apparently, he is insisting they are all going to his mom's in Arkansas for mothers day. Which was fine, until we realized it was the same weekend as my graduation. Denice (my sister) said she wasn't going to miss this, and Wade starts screaming at her about how he could not miss mothers day (his mom doesn't even care for them, never even sends a Christmas card or calls). They start arguining, and he says they are going and that is final. Samantha even gets in on it. However, a few minutes later, after I tell him he wasn't invited to my wedding, and I comment about how he shouldn't come to my wedding if they can't even make it to graduation. He changed his tune and said not only is my sister and nieces going, now he is too. He acted like he wouldn't miss it for the world, and we are family, blah blah... Just freakin great.
Oh, I wanted to share some pics of my niece, Samantha, dressed up for 8th grade prom. She is so pretty :) She is the blonde, her best friend, Nicole, is the brunette. Sorry for the poor quality, they are from my camera phone and the sun was at a bad angle. Plus, the girls were already running late and in a hurry :) Oh ,and I mjst mention, I did her hair, though none of the pictures show it, it was cute.
