A quick update about my day. I found out where the interview was to be held, it was Matt's Steakhouse. Very strang interview too. It was very short, not even 15 minutes, but I got the job. I thought I would love it, but now, I am already having my doubts. The manager who interviews me was so crabby. She asked if I had experience, I said I did (it was on my resume) at a restaurant in town. She asked how I liked the owner (everyone knows my old boss, and you either adore her or despise her it seems.) I said I liked her ok since I wanted to be safe. She must hate her. She asked why I wasn't going back there instead, and I said I had issues with how it was managed. She said very sternly "Well, we are nothing like them." She said she would "try" me out. So I am hired as a temporary, she wants to see if I work out. She almost acted like she doubted I would. I heard bad things about the management, but I had dealt with bad ones before anyway. So I go in at 10:30 on Friday and should be done by classtime at 2 PM. This also blows my weekend probably. This was the weekend James was devoting to me, since we never get time together. Now he says if i have to work any, he is going to try to work too :( This is the last weekend before he works pretty much all the time, staying at his dad's, then I leave for Clemson at the end of the summer. I am very depressed about all this. If the woman could have been nicer, perhaps I would have a better feeling...but I don't.
I also have a chance to work some banquets in St. Louis perhaps. James got me in touch with someone who manages a very fancy banquet hall in St. Louis and she took my name and number, and said she would call. She even gave me a couple dates that she would like me to work this month. So let's hope she calls. If she gives me enough work, perhaps it would make the summer easier then working at Matt's if the management are not very nice.
