Sad news to report :(

Very sad news :( One of my good friends, Kristen H., called and her father passed away today. I believe it was sudden, but we did not ask what happened, she was already upset and driving, so wanted her to be safe. She was going to the airport and flying home to Michigan, where she is from. Poor girl :( If we would have known, we would have drove her to the airport, but she called on her way there already. I am going to keep her and her family in my thoughts.

So I got third at the conference. Which, you have to consider, my group has computer science and computer engineering. The other two groups were actually groups, I was by myself, and the one that won was actually a way to make e-voting possible, safe and secure, and there was a lot of technical stuff in there. The other was with cyber security and it was a way to protect against a certain type of virus that gets by most virus scanners, so yea, tough competition. I got $250 though, so that rocks. Plus the $400 for doing the research.

So my sisters birthday was today. My mom did not have time to bake a cake, and could not afford to go out to eat, so I bought a triple chocolate cake from Wal-Mart to her. It was very good, but made us all a little sick to our stomachs, it was so rich.
